I'm still struggling with my calorieking ratios with carbs/protein/fat. I am not having enough fat or protein and too much carbs. But still meeting or just under calories....I don't really eat much protein I guess, I am trying to have more meat/tuna/eggs, but unless I have it in every meal (ie-bacon/eggs/beans for breaky, eggs/ham/tuna for lunch, meat with dinner) I just can't meet the requirements. I don't really like to eat too much meat and I'm not too fussed on fish, so it's just not adding up. I got some special K which is fairly high in protien so I can have that for breaky.....I have to be really conscious of what I'm having.
On the upside Ihave exercised today, just walking, though i carried ds and pushed dd in the pram and carried the shopping too, all up 3 flights of stairs!

I think I may have pushed myself a bit hard this week- with 3x PT session and 3xwalk as I am feeling a bit ordinary this arvo ( I think having AF contributes to me feeling blerg) I have just had a nap for a couple of hours, and still feel really yuck- I have given into sugar crvings because I am feel so weak.
I think I am just going to have to go steady steady, this is usually where I find a great excuse to fall off the wagon and give up exercise, I am not doing that this time, but I a going to have to start listening to my body.

You're doing a fantastic job Ali - maybe just tone it down a bit (forgive the pun ) and take it a bit slower this week!!

Woot Schaz! Awesome work It's a great feeling when people notice these things.

Amy - I luurve Milo too. I'm not a big tea drinker (occassionally) and I hate the taste of coffee, so I like a nice yummy milo. I have it when I have a chocolate craving and it's doing the trick. I have it hot with half water and half hi-lo milk.

Hoody - how annoying is the heat in Perth hey! I would love to get outside and go for a walk with DS in the pram but it's just too stinking hot. Got the air-con on and so I'm going to jump on the Wii Fit instead.

lilias - how about adding a serving (25g) of low-fat cheddar cheese? On a sandwich or as a snack? That will give you a little bit more protein.

Laranna - my milo consists of 1/3 cup of milo (and NO I'm not kidding!!) and then the rest milk... and I have it cold so I can eat the milo off the top!! That's why I'm staying away from it!!

Lilias - vegies have protein in them. Also some other good sources are nuts and seeds (also have good fats), and pulses, lentils, tofu. Protein deficiency is really very unlikely to be a problem for a normal person (eg. not someone who does intensive amounts of exercise)

I have to admit my cup of milo was mostly milo with a dash of milk . It was really something I ate rather than drank.

The heat atm is making things hard. We did go for a walk yesterday but we got so hot so fast. Apparently it's meant to be cooler on Monday so I hope to get out for a long walk.

Lilias, I was having the same problem so I've started having omlettes for lunch and have a protein shake if I need a snack. Tonight I'm doing a stir fry, though I'll have mine without rice.

you girls should join WW! you can eat everything and save up points to use for the end of the week. it is more like healthy eating, not really dieting. you can buy the points guides on ebay if you can't afford to join. but they are having a special at the moment and i have a $30 off voucher in the latest WW mag. if anyone wants me to post it to them, PM me, i am more than happy to!

hope you are all doing well

    Me too.

initially I found it really hard to totally change my carbs to proteins, but as soon as I committed to it, I found the weight came off easily, and my metabolism really changed for the better.

Lilias.......do you have a continental deli nearby? One good high protein snack is roasted broad beans, or roasted fava beans. Sounds gross, but really yum and v.high in protein. They are my lifesaver, LOL!

So with the omelettes girls, anyone have a tasty recipe?

We're going out for dinner to a club for a friends birthday tonight, so hopefully I can choose something respectable! Today I've been good, really got past my cravings and I feel like I've gotten over the hill now. Also did half hour aerobics on the Wii Fit.

Mine sounds yuk, but I love it.

3 egg whites, whiaked with a fork, add some black pepper.
Add 15g of grated low fat tasty cheese
Chop up about 1/2 cup of veggies (mushrooms, capsicum etc)
Spray a fry pan with cooking spray. Fry the veggies. When they have browned, pour in the egg and cheese mixture. Fry till golden and crispy on both sides, and then serve with salad.

All this for only 86cals, 4.5g fat, 11.2g of protein and only 0.5g carbs.

I didn't put anything in because my scales said I lost 2kg and I didn't think it was right. I wish I read the thread earlier! It wasn't until someone commented that I looked like I lost some (what the?) that I thought maybe it was true, but now scales say 1kg gone!

I have been more stressed than anything, but trying very, very hard to eat even if I don't feel like it or else I pig out on crap. I've stuck to the hot water and lemon and am not drinking as much tea as usual. BIG drinky-poos last night, so thats a bit silly of me .

A few days ago I decided to really use the resistance stuff Lucy put up, and added a few things of my own. I got the soup cans out and my darling baby girl fetched some little tuna tins and lifted them too...soooooo cute. She is counting to 20 on her own now too!
I do lunges and we turn them into 'monster walks' and roar all over the house.

I've worked out how to use the stepper so my knees don't crack so much (I'm OLD!), I've been up and down the ladder painting for the day. Its great to FEEL the difference, and it doesn't make me pooped, it gives me instant energy!
And how can you say no when my princess runs to get her tuna tins and declares "exercise time mummy!".

Will post the next lot of stats next week. I might get a bit more used to it by then!

Oh Lucy, I have a ticker but I can never remember which one to use html or whatever....

Feeling really guilty- B4 DH left he bought me a Curly Wurly chocolate bar. My all time fav. Its been sat on the bench since Wed so over 48hrs. Today i have had a HUGE craving for sweets. (AF is around the cnr) I have walked past it 100 times and each time said no BUT i just gave in and meant to eat only half but ate it ALL I checked on Calorie King and i am only over my No. of Calories for the day by 50 so i guess its not too bad but i didnt have any snacks today when i should have so thats the only reason why. I am finding it SO hard to eat 3 balanced meals and as i am used to eating nothing til about 3pm then grazing til dinner iykwim. Any tips?

Well off to do some more wii fit as i am so bored and lonely with DH gone. DD1 was at DC today so only been DD2 and I and then both girls in bed by 6.30 so really longing for some adult company. I think thats why i ate the choccy too i am a bit of an emotional eater

I find that rather than eating 3 meals I have 5 it breaks it up for me so I don't feel like I am starving myself - I actually feel like I am always eating... but I have smaller portions during the 5 meals
