    Hi everyone,

I've been trying to get through this assignment that is due Friday then work called me in to do an afternoon shift so no bike ride for me today! Just have to be careful with what I shove in my mouth. Selena made me a salad for tea with ham and pineapple and all so at least I dont have the choice of getting something naughty. I could do with the break away from this assignment. Its on preeclampsia and shoulder dystocia seems pretty straight forward but oh so very long! I'm working in maternity ward at the moment so its a bit more relaxed than birthsuite, sounds alright to me for today! Will just have to get patients up at the far end of the ward so I need to run back and forth all night that way I can get a bit of exercise happening. Talk to you all soon!

Hmmmm... with a 2.30am wake up this morning, and 20 minutes of screaming - I can say I'm not clucky AT ALL today......

Missy - I definitely know what you mean. I get it too and cant stop thinking about it but then I dont want to get preggers without losing weight and push myself into the high risk category simply because I was too clucky lol. I really have to finish midwifery before we try too, it can be pretty stressful with assignments coming outa my ears but gotta keep going, couldn't forgive myself if I quit and I just love my job too. Only 2 mths before I finish uni so I shouldn't complain and just get stuck into it.

Mel, I have to agree with Amysarah. When Miss Charli was a newborn she was waking at about 10.30, 1.30am and 4.30am for a feed. but I was lucky by 12 weeks she was just waking at about 5am.
How old is Mehlekti now? Sounds like she is doing really well

Lea, I'm like you. I really want to lose the 20 kilo's for the sake of having a healthy pregnancy. With charli I developed PE at 35 weeks and I know there is apparently no link between weight and PE but I think if I'm healthier it will definately help. And I sooo want a vbac next time so will be doing everything to improve my chances.

Mel- ouch..... thats a killer. Does hubby help out much? will they both sleep for you today so you can get some zzz's?

My daughter woke every 2 hour's for her first 4 months (and she did this nearly all day long so i wouldnt get much chance to sleep, not if i wanted to eat and shower lol)... i by the end of that 4 months was a wrek!

Amy- awwwwww your nieve'ness is refreshing..... but just wait! When you have had a string of good, un disturbed night's sleep.... it is EASY to deal with a newborn. BUT, when you have a toddler, who by all means would of had you up most night's so by the time #2 come's your already sleep deprived, living the routine that Mel did last night (and most nights) really is so exauughsting you loose the capability to 'enjoy' the 2 am fee'ds and cuddles.... cause im sure Mel, like myself really enjoyed them when it was all new... with our firsts....

Lea- ok then, so we both need to feed eachother's strength!!! Cause i so nearly blew it last night, im just damn lucky DF is soooooooo controlled! See i went off the pill 2 months ago, so my body could have a break before we ttc. So we use condoms atm, welllllllllll as you can see by my post from last night, when DF did the good ol' tap on the shoulder when he got into bed, i soooooooooooooo just wanted to DTD without condom's!!!! But, good ol' fathful DF who is very good at control, got the condom .... uno what was weird for me, as soon as he did that meh, i couldnt of been less interested... really killed the mood. lol my body has fully kicked into ttc mode..... i think cause he got the condom (so no chance of baby lol) my body just turned off.. how weird is that.?!

Isnt it funny how we work..

Last week, i was insistant on condom's... and although i knew i wanted more i wasnt really clucky.... and then bam!!!! all i can think/talk about is baby's... and it has gotten to me so much it altered my sexual being ...... i definately dont want it to do that with DF as he will then feel like just a "sperm donor" and think im not interested in him just for what we do together... its so hard to explain how strong this is... i tried last niht, but i just couldnt explain it right..... :S

    Ahhh well....

Well, better go and get some things done..

So, when is whoever is doing Mel's diet, starting it? im just trying to work out when to start it, so i know and can plan! (i.e buy the food for the diet and not buy the food not on the diet ha ha ha)

    Ok, me out for now

OHHHH by the way... My name's Rebecca- but you guys can call me Becc (but shhhhh no one else on Belly Belly knows hehehehehe :P )

    Hello girlies!!

great read and also a great post! i am new.. as i keep saying.. and jsut to give a bit of back ground.. i currently do not have any children.. hubby and i jsut got into a private health fund three months ago and decided to start trying in september.. surprise surprise i am nearly two days late for my AF.. and i am in denial thinking im not UTD even tho i have the signs.. i think im in doubt because it was our first try hahaha and thinking as if i could be taht lucky!! going to do a test soon tho!
as for loosing weight.. i cop alot of flack although i only way 73kgs and 174cm i am a healthy bmi.. i would have liked to have lost 4 or 5 kgs b4 falling pregnant although just started a job that requires sitting on my butt allll day long! (property management) it makes it hard to maintain weight.
although they say that dieting isnt a good thing when pregnant would it be correct in say that eating healthy.. and only eating when your hungry (as long as ur maintaining breaky lunch and dinner) and along with excersise.. u shud be right..
i mean i go to the gym 3-4 times a week.. admittedly i have been doing those pump classes and spin classes.. i was under the understanding as long as ur taking things easy (doing things at ur own pass.. not at a bullet of a gate ur right)
i have tried those shake diets before.. (a few years back) and as soon as i have stopped it loads the weight back on...
to be honest with summer comming my favourite breaky is 'carrot.. celery.. bettroot.. apple.. spinach and giner juice' sounds gross but is actually yummy. i drink heaps of water which seems to stop the habit of snacking bad foods and usally eat a salad and meat for lunch and vegies and meat for dinner. i think tis every thing in moderation and also keeping a diary helps to remember those little naughty moments taht you have.. which i think is very important other wise your diet can become rather boring.
hope i can obtain some great advise from you all along the way because i dont know every thing and could probably be doing something better hahaha and would love to still maintain if not loose alittle around my thighs even tho i may be UTD (that probably sounds terrible!)

Thanks Bec - yup I haven't slept through the night since... well before I fell pregnant with DS...

So yes, joys of 2am feeds are way out of the question. And no naps during the day. Ahhh how I long for the days of just having a newborn to deal with!!!

I'm starting diet on Monday too

Hi and welcome Amsta, sounds like you may be UTD and if you are congrats. You sound like you are the ideal weight to get pregnant, you dont want to be too slim when you fall pregnant cos more often than not those are the girls who put more weight on than those a little above average. Wishing you good luck with it all!

Bec - your post made me laugh. It is funny how our bodies react when we are in baby making mode. I get that clucky that i just cant think of anything else but then i remember i cant do anything about it til december lol. its not that easy for me hehe. Maybe knowing i have to wait til i finish midwifery will make me get through these assignments faster....nah! not a chance lol

Spice- You poor thing having PE from 35 wks! were you made to stay in hospital? I know its very uncomfortable. Thats right there is no real link between being overweight and PE but it does cause other complications so would be a good idea if I lose it to avoid that. They are building a new birthing centre here in Townsville so I would love to go through and birth there but you have to be low risk so hopefully! you never know your luck! To try for a vbac that would be great, its so nice when you hear of women wating to try rather than opting for a repeat c/s straight away. You have left enough time for your scar to heal too so your chances look good. what was the reason for your c/s last time?

    Hi everyone.

Sorry I missed you Amsta. Welcome. It sure does sound like you may be UTD

Lea, I was hospitalised for a few days. Then sent home to rest as aldomet helped with my BP. I had protein in my urine but not a huge amount. I was monitored by OB and had a scan at 37 weeks which showed placenta calcification so OB said it was best for bub to be delivered within that week. I wanted to be induced but bub was not engaged and my cervix was unfavourable so I took my OB's advice and had a cs. In hindsight I think I could have been monitored for longer to see if I went into labour spontaneously. When I had the cs the anaesthetist could not get the epi to work so I was given a GA which as you can imagine was completely devastating for me. Thats why I so badly want a VBAC next time.

Lea I really hope you get the egg on your first go. I was lucky enough to fall pg with Charli on the first try (how do I know - we only DTD once that month - sad I know)
It seems like you've got ovulation time all sorted with your charting etc. My only other tips are: make sure you lay down with your hips elevated for half an hour afterwards. And also I had read in a conception book that some women produce too much cervical mucous which can actually prevent enough sperm to enter the uterus and a good remedy for keeping cervical mucous thin was to take a dose or two of robitussen around ovulation time. I did this just in case and it could have helped.

Sorry for getting off track everyone.

Now, back to losing weight. I'm going to start this friday. Mondays never work for me . . .

What does everyone think of having like a chart on everyone's progress that we update every week? like, starting weight and stuff and then loss to date - would keep us motivated (or me anyway cos my number is so high!! lol)

Hi Amsta - welcome and fingers crossed for your positive result!!!

    Mel I think that's a great idea.

The last time I weighed myself was about 4 months ago and I was 69.8. I refused to get back on them until I was sure I had lost some because I didn't want to see 70kgs. Well I certainly haven't lost any weight so getting on those scales again is going to be a huge deal. My first weigh in will be Monday morning.

(BTW: I am really short so 70kg is overweight as far as BMI goes for me.)

I don't know if I want to admit my numbers now...lol.... everyone will be like.."OMG Mel is such a blubber lover..."
