    Yay Beckoes!!! well done
    >>> can anyone explain to me why i get such an insane sweet tooth after dinner! I get so grumpy and its so hard not to have something naughty! Luckily after dinner is normally quite hectic with the kids and i dont get time to sit and think about it, but its actually making it hard to be around me for about an hour or so after dinner! Any ideas!?
I am the same! its the WORST time for me... but i also rationalise that atm i am BF, so after dinner is not like after dinner for people that are not, you are still making milk (and in my case enough for 3-5 feeds) before breakfast - this has got to make you a bit more hungry...
One thing that i have noticed though, if i have rice (white) or pasta for dinner i am more inclinde to 'desire' food/sweet things than if i dont - so i try to have less.
I know it is not good, but i am having toast after Auroras bed time feed, i see it as an extra meal to make me get through the night.
I plan to cut it back to one slice then to just a cup of decaf tea - but not all in one go...

Leesa - im not trying to smart, i am generally curious about this (i hate how sometimes questions can come across wrong when typed)... i thought that yoghurt would be worse as it has sugar in it - why is that a better option than fruit?

    Livvy - awesome! well done

BElfie - wow - i would love to see the low 60's again - sooo far to go still!

AFM: BAD day yesterday, ridiculous snacking all day -no idea why and NO will power, back on it again today though - early walk with the girls 9am and it was FREEZING - 4C or something, but made me walk really fast to warm up. this week has not been as good as last week - sometimes weigh in's for me are dangerous as i think that i can cut myself some slack if i have being doing well and then i end up undoing all the good

Thats it from me, before i ruin dinner that is simmering, i will try and get back in tonight.
    Sorry to anyone i missed

OMG - awesome work on the weight loss ladies! We all totally rock !!!

Sammie - depends on the fruit being consumed as to how much sugar is (on average) in it's content. Apples steer clear from for instance but strawberries and rock melon are good as they have a lower fructose level. Eating large amounts of sugar at night tend to get stored as fat (after being converted). What fruit are you eating Hun?
(and no I don't think your being a smart at$e at all Hun).

AFM - into the 62's but have been maintaing for the last two days - yep hubby is home on days off lol. I lose more weight when he's at work !

Woo hoo Leesa - 62's is awesome!

Sammiejane - I was reading a comment from Michelle Bridges that really it isn't about willpower - just set goals, outline how you're going to do it - i.e. whether counting calories or planning your meals - that way you're less like to eat foods you didn't mean to. I kinda liked it, cos I think so often we all just think it's about motivation... but it's not really. It's just about planning & habit.

I'm trying to be super good... weigh-in on Sat. As some of you know, we're having a very stressful week with my cat (attacked by a dog - and is hanging on by a thread & has been all week, 1 leg amputated). I'm really trying not to comfort eat, and to translate my stress & anger into exercise. It's working so far. I don't think I knew I could respond in this way and I just keep telling myself that the exercise endorphins will do me good. So I'm kinda proud of myself for managing.

I have been avoiding coming in here, lol...but here I am. I haven't fallen off the wagon again, well not in a terrible way, I have had some foods I shouldn't have though. I am really struggling. I am trying really hard to stay true to myself and remind myself why I need to do this. Remind myself that I feel good when I eat well and feel crappy when I don't. I am a really bad comfort eater and at the moment, I am terribly lonely. We have moved out to the outback from the city, so I have no family close by and no friends I feel I can really rely on. It's just me the my little family, and this week, DH is going into 6 night shifts, which is always really draining for both of us, and we both get grumpy and stroppy, which again makes us both want to eat foods which aren't the best. Plus, my throat is killing me, it's so swollen it's making my jaw and ear hurt. I can't get into a doctor until Monday, which by then it will probably be gone, or so bad I can't eat because it's killing me to swallow now and to top it off, I have AF, which makes me want sweets NOW!!!!

On a good note, my muscles are so sore because DH and I went on a huge walk yesterday (I haven't exercised in ages!) it feels good to know why they're so sore, I think it hurts maybe moreso because of AF. Not sure when I will be up to another walk though. And I haven't weighed myself because of AF and I just want to try to get into a rythem first. I am really trying to stay the course. I guess that's something. I'm sick of starting and stopping, I just want to find my groove and get this done. I have done it all before. But it's proving to be pretty tough this time. I guess I have never done it and had 3 kids 4 and under, and DH has never worked night shifts, and I haven't ever been so fat...ah well, I will keep on keeping on!

OH MY GOODNESS BELFIE! i really hope that everything goes okay and your cat pulls through.. I have several friends with three legged cats after various accidents (mostly cars) so if s/he is able to get well again then the quality of life is not diminished in any way.

leesa - i guess it is each to their own plan of attack re fruit... am choosing to ignore the sugar in fruit as is a heritage food... also am allergic to strawberries (tragic i know!) lol.

also i like the thought of peppermint tea as a sweet filler... belfie i think you might be on to something there...

AFM went for a walk with bub (in pram) yesterday for an hour and a quarter (plus extra 15 mins in supermarket but discounted that from 90 min total as is not really walking). up and down and up and down... am hovering around the 79.5kg mark and am due with period within the next few days so hoping will drop again after that. jeans are starting to feel rather baggier than usual which is (hopefully) a good sign (and not just cos they haven't been washed since monday lol! am thinking will see how the next week or two goes and then maybe treat myself to a new pair as these ones are starting to look a bit manky with all the paint from playcentre at baby height lol.

so yay! not too far off first goal of 72kg (64 is ultimate goal) as that is when my BMI reaches a "healthy" weight! yay!

oh and sammijane - am BF mine too, i used to need to eat throughout the night to have the energy for it (peanut butter and cheese sandwiches at 3am anyone?), but now it's easy, and bub snacks throughout the night (still...) as well as a morning, midday and evening feed. so it does get better! your baby is still just a wee one, so don't be too harsh with yourself. remember: the most important thing is that you and baby are well, happy and healthy. bums, waists and bat wings can be sorted later! xx

hey lilias... maybe you ought to just go in to your doctors an see the nurse just to get a swab done before the weekend... you don't want it to be tonsilitis or strep or something... i remember having both at the same time and i couldn't swallow or even breathe without pain.. and this is because it's really really dangerous. strep can lead to rheumatic fever which can damage (sometimes irrevocably) your heart. and the last thing anyone needs is a preventable heart problem.

    kia kaha honey.

WOOT! 1.5kg lost this week (actually I think last weeks was falsely up). I'm on 60.2. Sooo tantalizingly close to the 59's!!!

I've lost 8.8kg overall. Also lost 31cm overall, 10 off boobs, 13 off waist & 8 off hips. 5cm drop this week which surprised me!!

    Having a celebratory chai now

Hope everyone else is going well.

been off the computer for afew days, trying to be more active.have been eating more this week, thinkmy milk is suffering a bit as baby seems hungry allthe time and i feel 'less full' of milk. been trying to just increase my portions at breakfast and lunch and have a healthy pudding after dinner. see how that goes. and adding an egg every few days. i used to eat so many eggs and hadnt had one for weeks! so probablywont get a big loss but happy to cruise along for a few weeks see if things are ok with my milk etc.
hope everyones doing great! belfie...awesome losses!!! way to go!!!
SJ: i get like that sometimes....will power can get so tiring, just be kind to yourself, i have to remind myself that just casue ihad a naughty snack the whole day isnt a right off. hugs

Hi all! I'm back again after a self-imposed ban and need HELP!!!! I have zero motivation right now to exercise and am back to baaadd snacking and have put on weight again. It's not a huge amount but at 5'1 it all goes on my gut. I was doing so well but with it being dark after 5 Im not running and I have gotten to the habit of napping with the kids instead of getting up and doing my 30 day shred. So to keep me accountable I am putting it out there HERE that I will do some exercise every day - whether it is yoga, 30 day shred, walk with the pram or run. I am also on a 3 mth junk food ban ( Maccas etc) and need to go back to snacking healthily!

So that's it from me for now - off to update my sig up to what I am again - I don't know why I am finding it so hard to lose this last 5 kgs or so and keep it off.
For those who need sweets after dinner I am the same, I always want chocolate so I bought some of those Jarrah choc-o-latte drinks that make me feel like I am having something naughty, or else I get some Diet choc mousses. Pity some are Nestle.
    Good luck everyone!

    Thanks beckoes...
I have had that empty boob feeling and Miss A is feeding more... We are just entering another wonder week, so it's either that or a drop in milk, nit sure. How old is your LO (on phone can't see) I think ours are close in age aren't they?

Weight in today, not looking forward to it, will be back with the results later

Hi Tan, you posted as I was writing!
    Whats a 30 day shred?

I had a Jarrah hot choc last night, much better for me than a choc milk and surprisingly tasty!

    hey all!

had a small scone last night with dinner... so that was my bad thing... have been dreaming about cake and am hoping it helped. i was thinking maybe i need to allow myself a treat every fortnight or so to curb the craving. can't tell if it did help yet as last night i really didn't sleep much as bub seemed to be awake almost the whole night and insisting on being latched... his room was quite dry as we'd had the heater going all day. in fact maybe i should switch it off and open the window today since it's sunny (*finally*)...

re milk, i have been told that sardines give you amazing milk, and surely have all the right things for a good diet anyway: protein, fatty acids and iron. anyway, just remember that even if we have lapses we have to listen to our bodies and our babies and be strong but also be sensible.

    hope that helps..

gah! had another small scone and a few corn chips along with some nuts and dried fruit (not feeling guilty about that though).. hopefully this is not the beginning of the end. i will blame my period for the time being... hopefully will be over in a few days and can feel more like myself!

SJ - 30 Day shred is a DVD I have that is by Jillian Michaels, they are short 20 in workouts that make you work and hard! Perfect for when kids are in bed and you are time challenged. They are really really good and get progressively harder over the 3 levels. I WILL do one tonight. I think I need to not fluff around but just tell myself I WILL do stuff while the kids are in bed etc.

I just ate some homemade bread but instead of putting something healthy on it I put Easy cheese spread without even thinking. That is my issue alot of the time, I think, oh I am hungry and reach for what is easy and close and then regret it once I have eaten it.

All starts today even with this little hiccup!

Here is a little review I found about it!

If you try Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred you should start seeing results in about 5 days. A great thing about the fast results you see with the 30 Day Shred is that you instantly become motivated by your own progress.
By following this awesome workout you can achieve that awesome toned body that you want just in time for the summer bikini season. If you watch the biggest loser, then you know that Jillian teaches workouts using the principle of muscle confusion. This means you keep your muscles guessing and you do not reach a development plateau as you would with most workout programs where you do the same routine every time. This also leads to very fast results. The 30 Day Shred uses muscle confusion to slim and tone your body and you will see amazing results before you know it.
The workouts are moderately challenging and require light weights as well as a lot of your own self motivation and determination.
Take your measurements before you start so that you can really see and judge your progress. Its also great to keep a measurements and weight log. There is nothing more exciting than watching those numbers drop as you complete workouts on a regular basis.

Livvy snacking with your period is pretty common I think! I know that's when I struggle. Yep nuts and dried fruit are better choices than chips or chocolate! But be careful with the sugar content in the fruit, I think it's twice that in fresh fruit! I had a scone issue yesterday too - 2 scones - freshly made by my mum! Had low sugar jam on them though haha, that makes all the difference .

Belfie way to go on being nearly in the 59's - I'd be nearly dead if I were there! You must be quite short?

Keep up the good work everyone else too - personally I didn't have a weight loss this week, but have lost a few more cms. I am convincing myself that it must be muscle I am building through exercise and nothing to do with the 1 tiny sliver of mudcake, 3 ferrero rochers and 1 gluten free cupcake had on Friday - all due to 2 staff members leaving!! Argh it can be sooo hard sometimes!
