Thats great new Lilias. Especially if you haven't needed to change alot. Goodluck with the walking.

Dale thats great news on your weight loss.

Well I'm so excited. I've lost 1.7kilos in a week. I shouldn't get excited as I have been so sick the last 3days so thats why the weight has come off. I have a chest infection (from a chemical burn using mould distroyer) So I have 1.4kilos to go before I am at my first goal which is to be under 80kilos. Total loss in a month and a bit is now 5.1kilos woohoo. I've still got about 15kilos to go but I'll be so happy if I can get down another 6kilos by October. Now as I've been sick my goal this week is just to try maintain the loss without gaining it back again.

Thank you Mildez and Mr Squidipa! Great results for you both, even though you were both sick!
Mildez, that is terrible about the chest infection, glad to hear that you are on the mend.
Lilas, well done! I need to drink more water and also do a bit of walking.
With the weather getting colder I am not drinking as much water as I should, BUT it a nice time to get some walking in especially before it starts to rain.
Hoping to get to know more of you a little better as time goes on. Here's to a great week for everyone!

Yes Dale it is nice walking weather. I'm finding it really hard walking. I don't have a good pram to go during the day and I wait for DH to get home but he doesn't get home until 5-7pm and I'm finding its dark when he gets home and I am then unable to go. My exercise is pethetic and I know if I could do more I would see the kilos fall off faster. Or I could afford to eat more desirable food lol I think as its a month now my body is use to the reduced intake so its not hurting me anymore (hurting my feelings that is) I actually don't feel hungry most of the time I eat but make myself as I don't want to loose my milk supply. DD is only 8weeks old so way to young to give her solids or anything to make up for any loss in supply.

Does anyone know any options or suggestions when eating out? Next week is my DH birthday (30th so a big one) and the follow lunch is his friends 30th so we are dining out twice. We are going to SSS for DHs and HogsBreath for his friends. Is the caesar salad the best options at Hoggies? Anyone know what the best option is at SSS? I'll have to be so careful and really increase my exercise that week to ensure I don't gain weight. There is also a real possibility by then I can get under 80kilos so I don't want to gain a few kilos that week and be back to were I started from.

Hi ladies, can i join in?
I lost 20kg prior to my pregnancy, then put on 28.9kg while pregnant, 9 months to the day after i had dd i had lost 29kg, and am sitting at 30kg now but that means in 10 months i havent lost a thing.
Me and dh do weight watchers and i've recently started bootcamp once a week due to the plateau effect that i cant seem to break through. hoping to lose 5-7kg by the time we ttc later this year.

goodluck to you all, it will be nice to have and give some moral support

Hi everyone - I have hit 80kg - highest I've been for many years. And it's pretty much down to me comfort eating a pile of crap really! I am about to go to the coast for a week, so in reality, it's not worth starting anything full on before I go - but I do plan doing lots of walking on the beach, etc while I am away!
I have actually ordered the 17 day diet book - which I hope, when I get it, will help kick me off with a good loss to start with which will give me the positive edge that I need to keep going.
Ideally, I feel comfortable in myself at around 73kg, anything higher than that and I don't like how my clothes fit me, needless to say, I hate myself at the moment! I would love to be 70kg or slightly less - but I have to be realistic too!

Anyone heard of the 17 day diet program? It's not just 17 days, it 4 cycles of 17 days with various foods included back into each cycle, which is supposed to prevent the levelling off of weight loss that you always seem to get.

Hi everyone, just found this thread. I have just joined a local gym after weighing in at 76kg. Which is 3kg up from Pre-pregnancy and approx 11kg up from where I would like to be. Going to the gym 3 times a week and cleaning up my diet. We are planning on TTC after ds turns one in july, which gives me two months!!!! Guess we will revise the plan when july comes and see where I'm at. I am going to need all the moral support I can get to actually get off my butt.

Ausgirl, I saw the 17 day diet book at kmart, didn't really read much off it. But I might have a look, I really need my meals set out for me or will eat whatever I come across!!!

Well done to all the people losing weight. Hoping that will be me soon too

hi folks. Just popping back in so I can crawl back on that wagon. I had a gain this week of +.3kg. Not much... but you know... a gain is a gain is a gain and isn't a loss. Lol. So I promptly hopped off the wagon & wallowed in bad food with a rather naughty weekend... I've been so good for 3 months I think it felt really good to cut loose for a bit. So now I'm a bit nervous that my .3 was probably just fluid, but now I will have thrown some fat onto the heap too!!! Arrrggh! So as of tomorrow i'm gonna focus again - food & exercise, I'll feel better for it. I've got till Sat and I wanna be really good. It's just weird cos I had been finding it really easy to do, and now after having some less than healthy foods oh my goodness I'd forgotten how tempting they are! But... they won't help me get slimmer. Plus I'm at that point where traditionally I sometimes get complacent or I think I worry so much about plateauing that I make it happen! Daft! But who knows, maybe I needed a gain & some unhealthy food to shock me into being a bit more disciplined. And I'm finishing off that last pesky biscuit () as I write this, so I can start tomorrow on the right foot!

Starlite - good on you for joining us, you will feel great once you start losing! Plus it's great feeling so much stronger & healthier. I found after putting it off for ages, I felt great once I started (which was start of March cos my DD was nearly 6 months old).

ausgirl - welcome to you too! Walking on the beach sounds like a great idea. Haven't heard of the 17 day diet, but it sounds interesting.

leesa - congrats on your loss!

Mr Squidipa - wow you are just doing amazingly, that's fab. Congrats to you too

Jen82 - bootcamp sounds like a good idae. I'm worried that I'm about to plateau (admittedly I definitely will if I eat crap! ) so I'm going to try a zumba class this week. Hopefully we'll all get through the nasty plateau.

Mildez - aah eating out can be tough. I'm pretty sure i read that caesar salad is actually usually pretty bad with all the cheese & bacon (it can be as bad as a typical junk food meal of chicken & chips or burgers). I'd suggest you have a look at the menu & jump on calorie king to get an idea of what is what. But I would have thought going a salad with meat that isn't as rich (i.e. lean meat, no cheese, not a creamy dressing) plus asking them to hold the dressing might be a better option. But then as Mr S said too, sometimes it's great to get out & have a great meal, enjoy it then work harder too. I guess if you look at the points or calories it just means you're making a more informed choice and you know how much exercise it would take to burn it off.

Dale - welcome as well! That was too funny about everyone tryign to guess if you were male or female tehee. Hope your week has been going well too.

My favorite weight loss saying when it comes to food is "what you eat in private shows in public"....

Helps me veer away from naughty food all the time lol.

Ok, I shall crawl back into my hole

Got the 17 day diet book in the mail today - So there are 4 cycles
Cycle 1 is strictest obviously - and is supposed to guarantee fast large weight lost - 10 -12 pound (so 4.5 to 5.5 ish kg) in 17 days. Apparantly new studies say fast weight loss is good....
The food in cycle 1 in a nut shell:
Fresh salmon, snapper, tuna (or tinned in water), sole - eat as much as you want *
Chicken, turkey -eat as much as you want *
Eggs - 2 serves with yolks (2 eggs) without yolks (you can have 4 whites)

Cleansing vege - Basically all of your brasica family (cabbage, cauli, broc, etc), carrots, asparagus, green beans, onion family, basically nothing starchy (potato, corn, etc) - eat as much as you want *

Low sugar fruit - 2 serves per day
Apples, orange, grapefruit, pears, peaches, plums, red grapes

Probiotic - 2 serves per day
    Yakult
    Yoghurt (75g)
Kefir millk (which I have yet to find what this is!)

1-2 tabs friendly oil - olive or linseed

    And limited amounts of condiments

So a fair bit to choose from there

Obviously cycle 1 is pretty strict, on cycle 2 you gradually introduce more foods back in.
Cycle one begins with 17 mins of gentle exercise - eg walking - nothing too strenuous while your body is getting used to the lack of carbs.

belfie sometimes a break is all you need to re-focus and start again. i hope being naughty hasnt had too bad an effect on your weight, but you'll have more reason to get cracking if it has!
ausgirl i have never heard of it, it is definately too strict for me, i am a carb fiend!!

Aah I love it! Might be my new mantra. So glad you shared!

Ausgirl - thanks for that. Well I had a good day today, stuck to my goals food-wise, plus 30 mins walk/run yippee yay. Jumped on the scales this morning and it didn't seem toooooo horrific. But I think i"ll have to put some hard yards in this week to get back to level pegging.

I love that leesa, might have to stick it on my fridge and pantry to remind myself to stay away from the oreos!!!

Ausgirl, 4kg sounds great!!! Make sure you let us know how you go. Im thinking Strict eating is perfect for me.

Jumped on the scales yesterday after my first week at the gym (3x sessions incl weight training and cardio) and had lost 1.5kg. Then MIL was in town and we all went out for dinner. Feeling very mad and depressed for eating so much. so back to the gym I went this morning. Stupid food...

I'm still plugging along....I've really turned a corner and am getting back into my fitness groove; and the scales thank me for it.

I'm of the 'go hard' attitude when it comes to weight loss, did me well last time around (36 kg loss after ds); so I'm running (literally) with it again lol!
