Thanks.. i am about 173cm, so i guess thats about right then. Not breast feeding anymore, so its all about me!! I am putting it all in the CK thing, so far my excercise has outweighed my food, but i still have dinner to go (and more excercise!!!)

I think my biggest thing is making sure i am actually putting in the info correctly. If i get that wrong none of it will work!!!

Starbright - I know, I know - I feel your frustration hun! When I started up with myfitnesspal I had start from scratch and enter in my usual foods, but once you load them once, they usually are easier to find. I used CK the first time around, this time I am using myfitnesspal as I can use it on my iPhone and on the laptop (can help when I'm out and about and not sure how many calorie's a meal I'm considering may be packing).

The calories that would have been generated would be the total amount of calories you should have each day. However it is fairly generous and I minused off 300 calories when I was on CK. So if you remain under that figure its cool - so long as you aren't starving yourself of course. On the CK page there are also forums. Now, a word of warning, many people will say to eat back the calories you burn during exercise (So if you're allowed 1600 cals, and burn 400 during exercise - you could actually consume a total of 2000 calories). For me personally, I don't eat back the calories for 2 reasons: 1) I can't possibly fit them all in; 2) It slows my weight loss down to snails pace. People will harp on about how you should lose weight slowly etc - but I can assure you, once again, if you're not starving yourself, and you can't fit in all those calories - don't eat them 'just because'. Trust me on that hun!

Livvy - Well done on the intervals and your weight loss achievement hun! That is brilliant work!

N2L - Welcome to the thread! I look forward to following your journey. Let me know if you need tough love hun !

AFM - Weighed in this morning, I did expect 'a' loss, but I was down to 59.1 kgs (did lots of exercise yesterday, so no wonder). Not feeling all that flash today - think I'm starting to come down with a cold or something (so long as I'm well again by Tuesday thats fine). Will still 'hit the bike' tonight, don't feel like jumping around with Attack again. I've almost reached the threshold I wanted. One kilo to go........No rush though.

This thread is moving so fast! Just a quick question from me, I'll be back soon to catch up on personals. Leesa or anyone else who may know, how do you work out how many calories you should be eating to lose weight?

Leesa I have joined up to the Spring challenge! I think I will use CK and log my food on there, and I am going to join the gym this week for a few months until I can start running at night again when it's lighter for later.

I am so determined to feel better about myself. I know I don't have a huge amount to lose, but being 5'1 it's all on my stomach and I feel like I am 6 mths pregnant or something. I just want to look and feel nice, wear nice clothes without a muffin top, plus feel like I have more energy and be healthy for my kids sake rather than eating cr@p all the time.
Vent over! So it all begins as of now and I think I will need to do a grocery list and replace lots of unhealthy things with lighter fresh healthy meals which I am not great at so off to look up recipes on CK.

hey beautitude! i put that question into google when i started and found a site that essentially gave me three amounts: maintain weight, weight loss, extreme weight loss. it was

Calorie Calculator - Daily Caloric Needs

    hopefully that worked!

Heey Tan! Welcome! I meant to reply to you in the other thread, but haven't had time (too busy exercising . Good on you for sorting out a time you can exercise, I know that's something you've been battling. I was going to post & ask if you can do it while the kids nap? CK is a great way of tracking your food too. I'm like you, it's always on my waistline (arrrgh!) so I know the feeling... but i've lost 15cm off my waist so far, and I'm loving it. You'll feel better for it, honest!!

AFM I sooooo didn't feel like doing anything today. Had one of those horrible meh/emotional/grumpy/fight with DH kinda days - I think we're both just tired after a massive week & huge day yesterday. But, I did a 30 min walk earlier... then I found myself thinking about Leesa's "push yourself to do more" slogan, so I hopped on the bike for 30 mins while I watched some telly. Next goal - new batteries in the HRM... THIS WEEK! I'm gunning for a great week - the first full week of the scrumptious challenge. And I WILL make 10kg lost.... which will be kinda neat cos my DD is 10kg and she just turned 10 months old!

    happy eating & exercising everyone

EDIT: I just realised i'd robbed myself of 0.1kg in my sig... lol. Just had to adjust that!

well done belfie and thank you leesa!

just felt the need to be smug (sorry lol!) and say that have just done my intervals: 1min squats, 1 min marching on spot, 1 min grande plie in 2nd, 1min marching on spot. repeated 3 time each (so 12 mins total). phew! legs feel like jelly! thought i wouldn't make it but pushed through to the end!

Livvy - great training there hun! Esp with the the plie in 2nd - good anaerobic work to get those thighs burning and heart pumping = burning lots of calories! BE SMUG hun - you should be, don't hide it - be proud!

Belfie - Get those batteries hun - I'll do a cartwheel when you get them, I reckon you're just the type to try and beat your own personal bests, and the HRM will make you want to! I was also in a 'I can't be bothered, I'm tired, feeling a cold coming on' etc sorta mood....but I did an express Attack again - was planning on RPM but DD2 has been a PITA and wouldn't really settle for me. Thank GOD this is DH's last arvo shift and I can do RPM in the evening again for the next fortnight!

Beautitude - Yep, go with livvy's link hun . How is your ankle?

Tanstar - Good on ya hun! I'm glad you're in on the challenge. Just posted the first weeks 'focus exercise' lol.....You'll either love me or hate me . Trust me, everyone can benefit by this move! I also hold the weight on my belly - I look down at my belly and look pg too lol, but the mirror reflection is much kinder to me. Best thing to shift that weight is cardio exercise, you don't need to spend endless hours doing crunches lol....And once you start seeing some difference you'll be so motivated you will continue to keep plugging away with the exercise and make it part of your routine (I hope ).

Thanks everyone - just updated my ticker to show what I have lost since last year and originally I wanted to only lose 5 kgs but that still puts me on the upper end of a BMI of 25 so I think an extra 2 kgs will give me a bit of leeway if I do fluctuate a little bit.

Tanstar - yeah I hear ya! I'm just losing another 1.5 kilos as a threshold so I remain well under 60 too! If you have no excess weight to lose from your arms and legs, guess where you'll most likely lose it from? The BELLY region !!

Tan - I've found when I lost weight - through the "middle" patch of losing, my waistline didn't change at all for 4 weeks. But then in the last 5 weeks, i've dropped 6cm - and that's just as I've been getting into that 25/24 BMI zone You're gonna feel fab, just remind yourself of that. I think our goals are very similar, as my overall goal is to lose 13kg and yours 12kg. Go us!

Oh and a suggestion re snacks. Early on I looked up a lot of my typical snacks in CK (and some less typical but more healthy snacks ) - all in one day/meal IYKWIM. Then I copied & pasted the values into an excel spreadsheet (worked surprisingly well actually!) & printed it out & stuck it on the fridge. So if I had a day where everything just fell apart, I had a quick & easy reference guide for what energy my snacks were providing and it helped me to make better choices. The reality is that some days will fall apart, so having "helpers" will never go astray.

    Well done Livvy.

I had a bad weekend with 3 parties. I'm ashamed of myself. I ended up eating a few cakes and then got sad about it so thought what the heck I mose well eat bloody everything I want and start again today. Thats exactly what I did and OMG 2 days of eating yunk in the gallons I can really really notice my increased waistline, legs and face. Shame on me.

Anyway back on the band wagon and hopefully I wont fall of so spectacular until my DDs Baptism and a wedding coming up in Oct.

Breakfast question? What a good option for breakfast that is low in calories? I tend to eat the same breakfast every morning and with the 12week challenge I'll be doing soon I thought I'll start now seeing as its a low daily calories/high exercise type thing I'll be doing. I had special K this morning. It wasn't as yuck as I remembered from years ago.

Other news is I am looking for a treadmill. I don't want to buy new but I am not having much luck looking for a second hand one.

Tanstar thats a good idea getting a little lower so you can have some extra kilos without going above your healthy weight BMI.

Wow...you lot can sure chat!! only going back 18 posts well done to everyone whos loosing

SB...i find thats half the battle, if you can do a great food shop then you have no option but to eat well!! well done! i know what you mean about missing bad food, my eating habbits were terrible, i used to miss the chocolate....easy a large block a night...and snacks all day. we really noticed a change when we do the food shopping, we dont need to buy a large block of cheese ever week, or 24 eggs a week....yes thats right...with the baking and cooked breakfasts we'd go through 24 eggs a week! but you know what, after a few weeks off it all i cant imagine eating all that now!!well done on the bike!!

    N2L...welcome

Livvy...sounds like your doing great!! well done

Tan/Beaut...welcome. Tan, sounds like you have all the motivation you need right there!

Belfie...sounds like your really pushing yourself....well done....hope next week is another awesome one for you! a snack i really love if i need a little yumminess...cellery stick, filled with a little peanut butter, about half a teaspoon...not sure if thats the healthiest (lessa ) but i love it, or some light philli with honey in the cellery instead. i make up big batches of veg soup and keep it in the fridge for when i need a snack and just have a mug full when i feel the need to stuff my face with toast! interested to see what other peoples snacks are. probably healthier than mine

Leesa...welldone on keeping the losses going!! go you!

AFM...i think my food intake is creaping up a little, get that into check. but healthy still. miss baking so been doing a bit of healthy cooking with DD1, which fills the gap and done my DVD (30 day shred)a few times, dd1 joined in once and had fun so now she keeps nagging me to do it...got my own little personal trainer! hoping to move house soon...waiting to hear from the RE today, if we get it we will be on the beach, good walking tracks all over, be able to be alot more active...so thats good.

    good luck to all.....

Will catch up later. Selfish one from me. Totally **** yesterday. But back on the horse today. Ended up staying the same weight as last week (even tho I knew a was a kg lighter midweek, so silly if me to sabotage my own efforts! Grr!) . Doing well today. 1 hour 10 minute walk (man the kids weren't impressed with that by the end!), and done my FCS push ups for the day! Time to clean this bomb site! x bbl

TT great work on the walk. I gloriously Sabotage my efforts also. Sounds like your back on track. I tried to see the you tube thing but my computer wouldn't show me. Will try again later. Does anyone know if push ups are suitable when your muscles are seriously seperated? Thats sit ups isn't it that should be avoided?

My little woohoo. I had a toasted sandwiche and it was so good. I had to use white bread as I had no grainy stuff or any other alternative and bub is sick so I dont want to go out but I didn't butter it up to stop it sticking to the pan and I had no cheese or salt and it was so good. I seriously could not taste the difference between that and my normal buttered up one smoothered in cheese and salt. I did kill it with pepper (thats ok right) Now I just need to find a solution to the bread to limit my calories some more. I also used toast cut bread but when I shop again I'll try find a sandwiche cut and not white bread. Its hard to resist going back for a 2nd toasted sandwiche. Mmmm

Belfie thats great you dropped 6cm woow. Thats so good.

Beckoes is the 30 day shread DVD any good?

Mildez, YES! So hard to NOT go back for seconds on the toasted sandwitch! I've never really used butter when toasting, as we buy the proactive, ultralight, and I find if I use it - omg the mess is incredible! It sticks SOOOOO bad!! Does anyone else use this butter? I've always used it as its one of the lowest on WW. 2 tsp for .5 if I remember correctly. But yes, they taste just the same! I use Kraft singles, "free" version. They're in the sky blue/light blue packet. They're also only .5 point per slice on WW, so gives you that cheese fix for hardly anything. Keep it in mind come shopping day I just buy the plain multigrain bread. Whatever is on special. I used to buy the fancy smanchy one with pumpkin seeds and what not, but found it too healthy tasting. LOL. So just the plain old tip top or whatever for me now.

I found an AMAZING weight loss clip on you tube too. If anyone wants to have a squizz let me know and I'll PM it to you x

mmm, toasted sandwich...i made mini quiches for dh and dd today, with puff pastry, and i couldnt resist eating two, so have to be super health the rest of the day now....thai beef salad for dinner...and another night of dd1 saying YUCK mum, i dont like this dinner...oh well

the 30 day shred dvd is pretty good really...i normally hate the silly dvds...i find them too cheesy "feel the burn'' and all that stuff but this one is ok, you do 3 minutes of cardio, really easy stuff like skipping/boxing/jumping jacks. then 2 minutes of strength, like sqauts or lunges, using hand weights or press ups. then one minute of abs, so sit ups/crunches etc. and you do that three times. i like it cause it changes so quickly and its over nice and fast, its quite hard, especially as i DONT exercise...but its good to feel like im doing something that pushes me a bit and getting me into doing more. there are three levels too....ive only looked at level one...im not even going to look at level two till this one starts to get easy! or i might get scared!!
