Eek, not sure that i can keep up with personals but everyone has done well this week. I'm feeling postive after joining this thread and motivated after reading your daily posts.
Leesa - thank you so much for the motivation in here and well done on reaching your goal and then some.
Belfie - you go girl in your hawt jeans. I would love that too.
SB - sounds like a plan!
livvy - in the Wii Active I do lots of squats and lunges and I'm sure that helped thinning the thighs. Well done on the pilates. I can't get into that or yoga.
Mildez - well done on the 700g loss. I'm going to weigh in on Mondays although thankfully the batteries for the wii board need charging otherwise I would be weighing myself in more and stressing myself out.
Hi SammyJane and PZ. I think we are about the same weight although I'm 174cm.
MissK - how did you go at the nutritionist?
I would love to get to mid 60's but I will be happy just to get back to 70kg. I've had some naughty little snacks today but I'm glad it's the weekend so DH can look after the girls while I burn it off. Might do some sit ups before bed tonight.
Just popping in...
Had two cups if tea an orange and two kiwis this evening, soooo much better than previous nights!
Also had chat to DH about wanting to loose weight, there is no way we can get the xtrainer in the house now, so he went and watched tv in the bedroom so I could do 35 mins on the wii AND we had some money in our paypal account, so he told me to get the 30day shred DVD, so between that and the wii, hopefully I can exercise everyday...
Oh AND I walked to the library for story time and clocked up 12975 steps for the day.
So a bit of a woo hoo for me this evening
Tinsel - I wish I was10cm taller I think everyone doing something makes me more keen.
It’s a really good step to break the objective downward into 4kg plenty. After having my DS I lost 5kgs - not still setting a genuine aim in the start. My purpose was to 'look good. I didn't even have a digit of kilo's I required to lose.
Ok weigh-in this morning, another 0.4kg loss (I'm like the turtle lol, just pegging away). Puts me on 9.5kg lost. Next goal... the big 10kg!!!
And another 1cm off my waist yay.
Tinsel - I'd love to be 10cm taller too. I remember when I was a kid I used to lie in bed & dream that I'd miraculously get some strange disease that would make me grow . Great stuff with your plans on what to do!
Holy Dooley this thread is alive!! Busiest its been since I've joined (and lets just say I've been around here a lot longer than I like to admit! Ha!)
I'll try and do personals, but if I miss you, im sorry!! x
Belfie - You and Leesa are bloody awesome! Do you have just a regular exercise bike? And where do you keep it? My Mum has one, but Ive got a feeling it won't be missed if i borrow it for a while! I've got the perfect little nook in my lounge room for one too. Hmmm Do you watch TV while on it?? That's what I'd more than likely to, designate myself a tv show everynight that I wanted to peddal to. Well done on another 400 grams! Skinny minni! x Hope those 12E bras start fitting more perfectly soon too. I sympathise with your cup size. Big boobs are a pain in the butt! I'm a 14F.
Sammie - Good on you for having some fruit last night as opposed to some chocolate! Its small changes like these that see big results! I often think of that ad on the telly, about becoming a "swapper". When DH is having a little packet of chips, I "swap" mine for a serve of rice crackers. Still yummy, crunchy, salty - but far better for me! Keep "swapping" and you'll feel better for it too. And an awesome start on the DVD. Leesa has talked before that she does her workouts via DVD, once all her kidlets are asleep (hence the reason she is looking so fabulous!), so they clearly work well!
Tinsel - I love the weekends for exercise too. So much easier when Daddy is home from work, hey!? Hope you have a lower number on the scales come weigh in day
Miss K - Yes I'm curious how the nutritionist went too???
Livvy - So excited for you to hear that those Pilates lessons are sculpting your legs into hotness! Totally agree with Leesa too, lol, that headcold doesn't mean you have to eat those naughty foods! Soup is awesome, and will hopefully make you feel a bit better. Get well soon babe x
Leesa - I find that so unusual that people could do an "attack" class just for fun! LOL! I am clearly more unfit then I realise! But I do find it facinating... I love watching people jog too. Do you ever go jogging?! One day that will be me jogging! Well done on the extra 100g loss. You'll be at around 58 before you know it, never to return to your 60's again. Unless of course a surprise bundle number 4 comes alone??
Starbright - I'm not too sure on your question about the exercise. I see it as, some is better than none, right?? Keep up the hard work, and if time permits you to do it in one go - hell yes! I've heard good things about CK for tracking?? I'm on the ww points plan, cheap (as I have everything I need, so am not an actual "member" of ww), and its working. At the end of the day I'm finding its my portions that are all out. You can eat healthy - but if you eat too much healthy, you're not going to see much result. It sucks I know. It's all about moderation - even eating the good foods in moderation
Mildez - Well done on the 800gram loss! And HELL YES you can get below 80 by the end of July! Keep up that hard work! Loading firewood would be hard work - I can totally appreciate how much that would have hurt, lol!
PumpkinZulu - Welcome to our busy group!
AFM - Nothing really to report. Boring I know. I took all my measurements for the fatchicslim challenge, so am looking forward to comparing them in 6ish weeks time! Official weigh in on Monday. Really hoping I'll get back into my 80's then, but we'll see. If I do it means I would have had to lose atleast 1.5kg for the week. Am I the biggest gal in here??? Everytime I read someones weight I think, "can't wait to get there!!!" LOL! my first goal is 83, which is what I was when I got home from my honeymoon in November last year. Atleast once I'm there I'll be able to fit into my normal clothes again! Then once I'm there, 73 will be my next goal. Breaking it into smaller chunks so I dont get lost in the numbers. Can't wait, and so excited to be in this frame of mind!
Keep up the hard work ladies! Hope to see "less" of you here! (I mean weight wise, lol)
TT - r we fb friends? (sorry for not recalling if we are, I have a hard time remembering user names to irl names). If so I have a pic of my bike on there (though I think it's in my DD1's pics as I had her on the handlebars lol). It's a spin bike that they use in gyms but honestly Hun, ANY bike will do the trick. I do a hard and fast 45 min session, however whilst you watch tv will still see u burn heaps of calories. You could do interval type training with a clock & do 30 secs really fast and then back off for the next 30 secs and repeat until exhaustion, then cycle at a casual speed just to flush the legs and bring your heart rate down safely for 5-10 mins, this will still see u burn calories at a higher rate than if u just did the entire session at a constant pace.
Sammie - I've heard great things about the 30 day shred actually! And a big woohoo to ur dh leaving the room so u could wii lol! Pardon the pun!
Belfie - awesome loss hun - wow, so close to the big 1-0 Hun - what a milestone. You gotta treat yourself something! A massage, facial, nails?? All of the above!
Livvy - anytime u want tough love just let me know Hun. Even via a pm if u wish!
Hi pz, beckoes, tinsel, starbright, mildez and anyone lurking !!!
AFM - I ended up instructing attack and pump this morning afterall as the usual instructor was sick. I love getting paid to do something I would have done for free lol! So my weigh in before class was 59.6 - so another 100 grams gone, but after the two classes I was 58.7 - but I'll see what the scales say tomorrow before I get too excited over a big loss. I'm thinking I will be low 59's as most of that loss would just be from sweat. Not sure what activity I'll do tonight? Thinking a Saturday night home with kids ( although 2 out of 3 of them will be asleep) maybe a dance session of body jam?
Keep active everyone - weight loss doesn't stop just coz it's a weekend .
P.s - thanks heaps to the ppl who have accepted the fat chic slim challenge ! You rock!
What a pumping thread full of energy!! Just what i need!!!!
Thanks heaps for those tips leesa!! I will make an effort to do the first thing and last thing excercise.. i had full intentions last night, but DD took ages to get to sleep, then ds and i fell asleep on the couch together!! And then DD was up and down all night, so this morning i was not up for getting up before any of them!!!!! In fact that will be my big thing lol, coz i dont usually get up unitl the kids do!! So i will see how i go!! As for the calories.. i honestly wouldnt know how many i was having a day- im not really up on all of that and to be honest i have never actually checked out the stuff written on packets (DENIAL or IGNORANCE??? either way it worked for me- but NO MORE!!!!) So maybe if i give you a run down on what i usually eat (i am pretty regular with my food) that might help you???
Breakfast - 2 peices of toast (white bread as i found wholemeal effected my hands- however i am thinking of trying multigrain) with peanut butter on it
Coffee- white full cream milk (tried the lite but stopped) with two BIG sugars
Morning tea.. - Fruit- i will usually chop up a large apple and one or two madarins, some watermelon or kiwi fruit and the kids and i (DS is 3, DD 1) will munch on that through out the morning
Lunch- 1-2 sandwhiches- (peanut butter again- or toasted cheese) i usually make two because DS will usually pinch at least half a sandwhich off me- even when i make him his own. If i am feeling naughty- this is where i will have glass of coke
Afternoon- snack on crackers, usually the bad cheds or country cheese ones- not plain or healthy. Or original doritoe chips with lite french onion dip.
Usually another coffee in the afternoon too.
Dinner- chicken or sausages (we have been eating on a budget, chicken wings and sausages are cheap!!) vegies- cauliflour, broccoli, carrots or beans or peas, with macaroni cheese or chips (fried) If we are having chicken it is usally marinated in like a honey/soy marinade - if its sausages, i will usually have my sausage in bread.
On a slack dinner night- we have frozen pizza with extra cheese. Another glass of soft drink if i have pizza (if your gonna be bad, might as well go the whole hog!!)
My excercising will usually be before or after lunch- depending on DD.. some days she will crash out at 11-30 so i excercise and we have lunch when she wakes up- so say about 1. Or other days she wont go down til 1, so we have lunch first, then when she goes to sleep i do the dishes (she loves to climb in the dishwasher so i have to wait til she is sleeping lol) and then i hop on the bike.
My tempatations during the day are if there are biscuits or chocolate in the house i will just walk past the fruidge/cuboard and grab a few squares or a bikkie here and there. I do the same with the crackers.
So writing it all out i am pretty embarresed about how i eat!! I definately dont include all the food groups!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!
My excercise for today was bringing wood over from the wood shed - (must be that time of year Mildez!!!) it was good actually- usually we fill up the trolley thing and i would have done what was there in one or two trips... but i did it all by hand and so i walked there and back carrying the wood about 15 times!!! Woo hoo, then the kids were still asleep so i hopped on the bike for abit and then did 25 situps (i figured out if i do more than that i am actually too tred and not doing them properly!! so 25 at a time it is til i slowly work up to 30) Doing the bike- i pretty much do how you say to leesa, but time wise its a lot less, i will do the 30 sec intervals for about 4 minutes then cool down for about 2. Then if i am up for it, andother 2 minutes of intervals, then about a minute of cool down. Lately i have just been doing a gentle ride with out pushing hard. But trying to ride for longer. I find watching telly while i do it is good for me, i just keep on riding and if i get tired i just push myself to keep going until at least the next ad break!!
livvy... Thanks for the tips on my hands, i havent tried the flax oil yet, is that something i take or actually apply straight on my hands??? They have been really good since starting the new medication, no bumps since i started it, just still really dry. I have no idea what triggered it, i have changed everything i use for everything (no joke) and still got it- everything is now the "sensitive" version of anything!!! I do still use nappy wipes though- i had to change from huggies and i found that the no name woolies ones are ok to use- but that was a big thing that would make my hands react- even though i had been using huggies for two years with DS.. suddenly i cant touch them anymore!!! I have probably upped my caffine intake trying to cope with little sleep and two kiddies!!! So i try and watch that since doing some reading!! It is just a hassle to live with!! I envy you that your able to be so vigilant and not have to take medicine!! But for me at the moment- after having cracked and bleeding hands for months (and swollen too coz they would get infected from the cracking and bleeding) i welcomed anything that gave me releif!!!!! Hopefully over time i will learn what triggers there are and get off all the meds!! (So yes, i will pull out my food diary book!!)
OOh i need some "huge thigh away-ter" tips too- even at my skinniest i had huge thighs!!!! So i will be keeping an eye out for responses on that too!!
Mildez... All the best getting below 80!!!!!! Im sure you can do it!!!!!!! I will be trying to follow suit!!!!
Belfie... You go girl.. strut your stuff in those skinny jeans!!!!!! !!!!!!
Tinsel... I wont be coming to town this week, but the week after i will try to, maybe we could organise a meet up at the botanical gardens with anyone who wants to and do a nice bigh walk there!! Or even the park in belconnen we could walk around the lake :-)
Sammie.. Well done on gettin gin and doing some exercise!! i thik its great too that you had a good talk to your DH about trying to loose weight.. i keep saying it to my hubby- but then he still brings me home chocolate or something as treat (coz he knows i love it and want it!!!) but it really doesnt help!!!!
TT- i think i am close to your weight- I hopped on the scales again today 85.1.. so my first goal is to get out of the 80's!!!!!! I have just joined the facebook page thingy, so i will see how i go after the six weeks.. hopefully i will be back in the 70's!! (i am inpired too seeing all these gals so happy to be in the 60's and even 50's!! And knowing they have come from where i am now- i KNOW IT IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!
Well DD has crashed, so i think i should hop on the bike again!!!!!
I've just committed to the SCRUMPTIOUS FOR SPRING challenge...(initials KB) Looking forward to it.
Well done Starbright!
I did the wii Active this afternoon, had a little fruit snack and am starving for dinner. That's a good thing though right hehehe. Must go drink more water too.
thanks leesa lol! also was sad to see that probably need to up my amounts of exercise so am hoping to do a set of intervals each evening... at the moment am doing 6 lots of 1 min high, 1 min low.. is that okay? so like 12 mins at a time...
starbright... are you not really someone who likes cooking? am not meaning to be offensive but it seems that there is a lot of packeted stuff going on there... cheese flavoured crackers, chips, dip, pizza, mac&cheese...
first with your breakfast: white bread is not generally filling as protein is hulled out of the flour and instead pumped full of gluten (to make it fluffy), best investment we ever made was a *PANASONIC* bread maker (the other brands are okay, but P is best) - chuck in your ingredients and in 4 hours you have a loaf of bread with no nasties in it. peanut butter is a great choice though, fatty but high in protein and so keeps you full for longer. another thought here might be hummus, avocado or cottage cheese (under each of these i put the tiniest scape of marmite).
lunch: what about having some left over dinner heated up with a salad? or even cold as part of a salad. salads don't have to be boring old iceberg lettuce, they can be anything - pumpkin and red onion with balsamic dressing (easy - balsamic vinegar with olive oil and a bit of s&p) with some raw or wilted spinach leaves.. and beetroot maybe... chuck in a chopped cold sausage or some chicken and yum!
afternoon tea: some raw nuts (i eat 2-4 brazil nuts, but that's cos we don't have selenium in the soil here), almonds are good as are hazelnuts.
dinner: there really isn't a need to have chips or mac&cheese with a meal (they are meals in themselves really)... maybe try doing something with the chicken/sausages. a great base for any meal is onions, celery and garlic chopped and cooked with a drop of olive oil and then a splash of water with a bit of s&p to taste. from there you can add anything - go italian with a tin or two of whole tomatoes (budget brands are fine, is with chopped tomatoes in any brand that you have to start watching additives - bad for skin) some carrots and maybe pumpkin, or asian with some cabbage, mung beans and soy sauce (maybe a tin of tuna in springwater as a change). you can get really cheap cuts of meat (like neck chops maybe) and trim off the fat at home put them in the oven with some onions celery and garlic (of course), carrots, water and a splash of wine (red or white). the magic ingredient for almost any casserole is lemon zest, just grate it straight in. 2-3 hours in the oven first hour at 190C then down to 160C ish and they cook up all lovely and tender. maybe with a carrot and parsnip mash.
slack dinner nights we keep some bags of soup in the freezer like mushroom or laksa or a vegetable curry. we get these from the chilled (not frozen) section at the supermarket and they are scrummy when we can't be bothered doing something.
anyway, just some food for thought... hope that helps hun
everyone else - great going! keep it up! about to go and do some star jumps or something!

: oh and slack dinner nights!
Star bright, thought I would share with you what I am eating, maybe it will give you some ideas?
Breakfast - muesli (not toasted or baked) with skim milk and a cup of tea (usually have had 2 teas pre breakfast)
Snack - apple or orange and cup of tea
Lunch- big salad, salad greens, 1/4 apple, small handful of nuts, spring onion, carrot, cucumber and tomato (what ever salad stuff I have) then I either have a small tin of tuna or salmon (in springwater) OR some cheese OR some cold marinated chicken (left over) with more cups of tea! (I posted pic on the fatchicslim site)
Snack - nuts or fruit or dried fruit (1/2 cup)
Dinner - depends, we are on a budget too, this week we have had Spaghetti Bol (home made), snitzels with smash (I have sweet potato, pototo, carrot and zucchini mashed together with dome lite sourcream and s&p) and gravy, home made hamburgers...
Snack - decaf tea and fruit (although this week I had sweet biscuits )
Making small changes has made a HUGE difference to me and I feel so much better after lunch especially
Can't remember what else I was going to write now!!!
yum! that mash sounds great! i love the idea of courgette in the mix - am steering clear of potato and kumara but yum, you'll have me dreaming of it lol!
oh and starbright i also meant to say that i use a muslin cloth and a bucket of warm water for nappy changes - to avoid all the stuff they put in wipes. makes a huge difference. i know the feeling with the infected hands.. sucks. when they were getting really bad i used to use powder-free disposable gloves for nappy changes, just to save having to wash them at the end - only when was too stingy to bear anymore as bub hated me with gloves on, must have felt really odd. glad the new meds are helping, hope you manage to kick them soon hun.
