Cherished - 30km a day is my commute to and from work. It's an easy enough ride, and I figure if I have to spend 45 minutes getting to work, I might as well wrap my exercise up into the package too!
Hard to put a figure on how much I want to lose. I'm actually happy at my current weight, BMI must be down to about 24 now, so I couldn't lose more than about 10 kg, and would be OK with 5.

How nice is the sun? We have just scored ourselves an outdoor couch, so I have had two little stints on it today already. Mmmmm. I love Brissy.

Hi guys. You all sound like you are doing great.
I have been on holiday for a week and didn't do so well with my eating or exercising. A few nights where I went really over the top. But most of the day times I was in a conference and used up a lot of brain power and the food was quite healthy there. So tomorrow I weigh in and see the consequences. But am back into it today. I have to say the bad eating really made me feel yuck and also hungry - go figure! Anyway back on the wagon and glad of it.
I was told last night my futsal team have disbanded (due to racism against them - unbelievable!) so I was pretty sad but found another team tonight. I love soccer and it is the best exercise I get so was panicking a bit. So fingers crossed tomorrows weigh-in isn't too bad. Bye all!

krysalyss not sure if you went back through the posts but I had commented on how much weight you had lost You have done so well, do you mind telling me what you have been doing to loose it? I'm counting calories and working out

AFM the panic has set in that I'm going to a wedding and I am overweight and I have nothing to wear!!! AND the invite didnt' say what type of dress it is so that throws in a whole new set of worries about what to wear!!!!! The ceremony is at 11am with a ****tail style reception until 4pm... normally I would think 'ok wear a ****tail dress' which I guess I have and it would fit BUT it will be cold in August and ****tail dresses tend to be short and strappy iykwim Any ideas???

Hi Cherished - Thanks! I didn't actually go back through all of the posts. Your comment means a lot to me. I think the biggest challenge with losing weight is the waiting. It has taken me since xmas to lose this much (all up 12kg). Counting calories has definitely helped me to know for sure where I am with eating as I had some big hidden calories that I didn't know about and didn't really even care about (eg. full-fat mayonnaise - OMG!). Plus I have taken up soccer (indoor and futsal) twice a week. It is great exercise and I enjoy it so I don't have to force myself to go. I have also taken up cycling to work twice a week to reduce my car emissions. And I jog once a week. Not a fan of jogging (understatement!). I only do it because I find it helps my fitness with soccer. I think sometimes you need a break from it all though so glad I didn't worry about it too much last week while I was away.

The other thing that seems to have helped me is the 12 week challenge. I am in my second one. For some reason I find it easier to stick to it - this is definitely the best weight loss I have done under my own steam (eg. not due to work or other external factors).

I have told myself this is the only time I have to do this - afterwards I just have to maintain it - which is a lot easier! I have been focusing on some work issues lately so the waiting on the weight loss seems easier. After all nothing else stops just cos I am trying to lose weight.

Good luck with the weight loss journey. I know you can do it! Am so sorry that you lost your bubs. It must be a really hard time for you. Big hugs.
