1 tin organic chick peas drained and rinsed
2 tbsp cold pressed olive oil (you could use any oil, just what we use in our house)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp ground cumin
1 garlic clove minced or crushed etc...
1 tbsp tahini (optional... extra source of calcium though...)
pinch of salt & pepper.
I use a bar mix and if its too thick I alternate lemon juice & water until I reach a desired consistency. Officially you should use lemon juice and oil.... but I use water. Once its made I put a bit out at a time, the girls get 2 crackers and a spoon and go nuts... but I pour sweet chilli on top of mine and dig in with pita bread or carrot sticks.
