Hi guys, hope you had a great weekend! I am lagging behind my target, I've burned 4620 of 7500 so need to pull out two big days tomorrow! I will be doing lots of walking to try and burn off the extra cals, plus eating very carefully

I'm feeling really down after some bad shopping this weekend, I couldn't find anything that I really wanted to buy and nothing fitted, probably way too much chocolate over Easter. I might get df to chuck out what's left so I stop myself! Plus, AF is here and I weighed in nearly 2kgs heavier than normal...

Appletree, loving your enthusiasm in your first part of your post, and totally understanding the second part as well! AF does some crazy things to our state of mind hey? She's here for me too, and I think was the cause of the sausage leg phenomenon. Trying on clothes at this time is an exercise in self-torture!!!!!! Go back in to shop the day she leaves and you'll be feeling a million bucks, that's my plan Hopefully it'll make you feel better to know that my weigh in was 2kgs heavier as well. So that, combined with sausage legs and easter was a bit of a mind drain!!!

Today is Monday! Lets start a new week!!!!! I'm finding I've hit my motivational low that comes around every six weeks or so. I will be FORCING myself to get off the couch/computer today and go for a walk. Not running today unless I get out there and feel the vibes. I figure a walk is better than nothing, and all I feel like doing is nothing. I'm rambling hey???

Good luck this week ladies! I've got to work hard, I'm off to Townsville this weekend to attend a very important Teddy Bear's Picnic, and I KNOW I'll be eating cake!

***I'm joining in here too...ideally, 30kg to go, such a huge number to me! But at the moment, I will take it slow and go in 5kg lots, so 5kg to go!! 30kgs is absolutely daunting and I just can't grasp it, so I figured if I do it in little chunks, my brain might process it a bit better, lol. One can only hope!

First goal is to get below 90kgs, which is about 2kg. I will go for walks and will be setting up our wii fit so I can just pull it out to use when I get a chance if I can't go for a walk. Also need to cut out butter and sugar. I have cut out most things like chocolate, chips, cakes and stuff. We have none in the house and I won't go out to buy any unless I plan it. But at home, it's eating butter and sugary foods like cerial, cerial bars, sugar in coffee/tea...I need to have fruit and veggies instead! And also cooking healthy meals in a healthy way! I know alot of strategies, I just need to incorporate them. I so need to do this! ***

***has been cut and pasted from the general weight loss thread.

I haven't had a chance to read posts yet, but I will catch up on some when I can. I figured I would join both the general thread adn here too, since all support will be great!! As I said, I have 30kg to go, I'm hoping I can get there, though I think I would probably be rather chuffed with 25kg. God...5 would do right now, lol! Feeling very fat and frumpy and just horrid!

Hi lilias, welcome! I've posted in both threads too, but this one seems to be more active. Good on you for joining And I love the way you've broken your goals down! Awesome - you can do it

Hi everyone else... Bummer re AF's being here. I read somewhere once that we're programmed to crave chocolate when Af is here, so for many years I used that as my excuse! Oops! Better not do that now.

AFM I think I've hit a plateau. I've exercised more over the last week and my cough is slowly setting... But the weight loss is definitely slowing down darn it. Plus its our 12 year wedding anniversary today & a good friends 40th this weekend so I think i'll have to work hard to stay focussed with my food. We've eaten a bit naughty today but I got a walk in at least, so I guess thats something. I think if my hips hold up well I'll start trying to do some exercise cycling once the kids are in bed.

Start to the day...porridge with a teaspoon of honey, and coffee with no sugar. Tastes absolutely horrible, but I will get used to it, I never used to have sugar in coffee or tea at all!

    Welcome Lilias
Just a quick one from me while DP is out, got a MOUNTAIN of laundry and unpacking to do aswell as tackle the general cleaning and we have DP's dad and nan coming at lunch time

So i DID put on over easter but i expected it, no long walks and very little exercise along with lots of crappy oiled cooking on the fire i am back up to 94.9 BUT i don't care, i still feel ok and i've still lost quite a bit so i KNOW i can take it off again.

Car has s*!t itself so DP is taking it to get checked today but it might mean no driving to walks this week so i might start back on the bike, drinks lots of water (cutting out softdrink made a huge difference before) and get back into my yummy veggies and salads.

I can and WILL do this again and damn it i'm going to look hot before my 10yr reunion in a month or two

    How is everyone else?

Hi guys! Been a few weeks since I popped in. Since then I had obviously put on more weight as I weighed in for the first time in so so long last Wed. Got a big shock and am now totally back into it with both weighing, watching my food and exercising. I have lost 2kg from last week so am very happy with that. Now I just have to keep the momentum as the weight loss slows down and I don't get such instant feedback. I can't really count cals this time as I only have the internet at work but am writing everything into an excel file on my computer including my emotions so I have it somewhere documented. I am not going to take full measurements as I am only really interested in my tummy as it tends to make me look pregnant. This morning I was so proud of myself as I jogged 6kms in 43.50. That is 3 mins off when I did it last time. My overall plan to get do 10kms in 40mins but that is a long way off so my mid goal is 6kms in 30 mins which I know I can do within 3 months if I keep at it. Played soccer on Saturday which was awesome (we won 9-0) but they seem to swap me off a lot compared to other people so as I get fitter I am going to push for more time on the field. I also start a pilates course this Thursday so as long as I keep on top of my eating I should be fine. I am planning for 1 soccer game, 2 soccer training, 2 6kms jogs, 1 pilates class, and then either a day off if I need it or a cycle if I want to on the last day. Am feeling a lot better already - much more energy and my brain is clearer.
Hope you are all going really well.

Welcome Kel! We all know how you feel. But you can do it!

Krysalyss, great goals! I envy your speed!!!!

Appletree, you should be so, so proud of yourself, even in your skin you can see how much healthier you are! I hope you're feeling heaps better too!

Belfie, I'm going to stand by my chocolate when AF is here 'rule'. It's not guilt, it's mandatory!!! I know how difficult it is to stay motivated when you've hit a plateau, just keep with it as best you can and you'll start to see things moving again, if the weight is there, it'll drop off at some stage as long as you keep with it! I've hit a few plateau's in the last few months, but kept dragging myself out for walks and sure enough, I'll lose well for a few weeks and then stall. 12 years!!! Well done! That deserves a celebration! Don't be too hard on yourself, just get back out there once the celebrations are over!

Lilias- welcome!!! Good start with the brekky- most important meal of the day! I often add stewed apples or pears (since we always have them here! LOL) to my porridge to sweeten it up, or some banana when they don't cost a million bucks each I 'can't' let go of the sugar in my coffee though. Just can't!!!

Zavara Flutterby, I'll definitely check out that thread, I'm relatively 'new' so I don't know all of Lucy's story, but I'll definitely take a look-see!

~JAYNE~ Are you back yet??? How did the reunion go? Did you blow everyone's mind??? Hope it all went well.

    Raupe, how are you going?

AFM, I've been TERRIBLE diet wise for the whole time AF has been here. I've been sneaking bikkies (from who??? no one, just feeling sneaky everytime i get one) and eating about 4 pieces of home bread everyday on top of all my food. Plus I haven't exercised for the last 3 days. I took a look at my training diary tonight trying to psych myself up and it's helped a little. I travelled 65.4km on foot last month!!! I know I can keep it up, it's just a matter of getting out there and doing it! Wish me luck girls, and thanks for being here!

oooh so much activity, it's great. Not much for me tho... cooked a lovely stirfry with prawns for 12th wedding anniversary dinner last night... then spent the night puking & the morning on the toilet. Thank goodness everyone else was ok (even the kids had the veggies from the stirfry). So resting up for a day or two methinks... feel like crap warmed up atm.

Oh no belfie!! How awful, but happy anniversary My mouth was salivating at the thought of your yummo stir fry... until you mentioned the vomiting!

Krystals- wow! 65.4kms is amazing!! That is a lot of ground covered How far do you normally go in each session? Hope AF has disappeared again and the eating gets back on track! I love the idea of stewed apples and pears in the porridge, i will have to give that a try, it might make DS enjoy it a bit more too! I tried adding a yoghurt but it was revolting. I don't mind a few sultanas in mine with a bit of brown sugar.

krysalyss- i am so jealous of you losing 2kgs just like that! But that is an awesome run time! I am thinking about doing the mothers day classic on sunday and seeing what my best time will be, but i have this awful feeling that there will be a cut off time to complete the race and i will be well over it! How embarrassing! How good a work out is soccer training? DF keeps asking if i will come along to his training sessions to see how i go, but since i don't play in the team i think it would be weird to turn up to training! Not to mention that we would have to organise someone to look after the kids which would be a complete pain, and it would also mean a late night for them. See, i have plenty of excuses... LOL. Your week sounds awesome for training though, i wish i could say the same here!

ZF- your camping photos looked great, what a wonderful trip! So jealous! Never mind about the weight gain, it seems to fall of you when you are focussed on it, so i am sure you will be looking awesome by your reunion! I was 6 months pregnant with my second child at our 10 year reunion, and i was one of only a few people in my whole year who had started families and the only one to almost have a second child. I felt like such a freak at the time as they all kept looking at me like i was crazy when i told them... Now i just think, too bad, i have everything in life that I want and just because its not the path you chose to go down doesn't make mine any less valid.

Lilias- have you thought about trying the flavoured coffee's instead of adding sugar to a straight one? I am hooked on the coles swiss coffee (its a mocha i think) and its sweet enough not to need sugar added? I used to be a bit of coffee snob, but i think i have softened over the years! Other people i suggest it too think i am nuts... LOL.

AFM- i am struggling big time at the moment with DD and her arachnophobia, so many sleepless nights, its worse than having a newborn! She wakes up screaming thinking there are spiders in her bed, and then i cuddle her and she thinks that there are spiders in my hair, then on the wall behind us. It seems endless! No idea what to do to fix it, but i am tired as! I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred each night, which is a great 20 mins of high intensity work out, not burning anywhere near the calories i was when i was going to the gym, but i don't really have the time anymore. I might start adding some more runs in, or big bushwalks on the weekend and maybe a swimming session one morning per week with my aunt who lives down the street. Sorry, really just blathering now! Have to get going and do my 30 day shred, i have been chained next to DD's bed so she will go to sleep.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments on my photos

Apple - Soccer training isn't too bad for a workout but it depends on the coach. Games are certainly an amazing workout - if you play the whole game you probably burn off around 1300 calories! Sometimes at training if we are just skills training then we might be doing kicks or throw ins and then you might not get the work out you are after. Having said that it probably goes for 90 mins or so so it would be way better than a 30 mins jog. I put down 500 calories for a 90 min training session but that is probably conservative. I know if I am training with guys I really put the effort in as I am not one to let a guy show me up LOL. And it isn't unusual to let other people join in for training but expect that they will try and recruit you for the ladies team. I have to say that I love soccer and it is really what turned my fitness around from an "I hate exercise" kind of person to someone who will actually voluntarily jog just so I can play better on the field. You are just too busy running after the ball to focus on other things. Indoor soccer / futsal is awesome if you can do it as it is 40 mins of fast running around a court and after a few weeks you start to feel like 40 mins just isn't long enough because it is so fun and great for fitness. HTH . I know 2kg is a lot to lose but once I go under 70kgs I really drop to about 1kg a month. Just wish i had kept it off over last summer then I wouldn't be here again!

    Hi guys!!

I just signed up for the heart challenge, too! Whoop whoop!! .

Exercise is doing great, food not so much. Have not returned from my "Easter Break" yet (foodwise).... . Naughty me. The worst meal of the day is usually breakfast for me. I'm not really into the sweet stuff, I HATE anything sloppy (porridge, weetbix...) and all I "feel" like is something savoury (sp?). However, I struggle for time (or motivation, let's face it) to cook (scrambled eggs or whatever). So I usually end up buying breakfast (egg, bacon hashbrown and other fatty cr@p). Which is sooooo bad for me. So, does anyone have any idea what I could be having for breakfast? Oh yeah, and I get sick of the same stuff really quickly, so I need to keep changing it every week or so... . I know, I'm difficult . DF tells me so every morning! Hehe! But seriously, HELP!
