I know where you are coming from. I used to be 80kgs and am 67.5kg atm and have another 7.5kgs to lose.

Just start off by walking on the treadmill for 15mins per day (the idea is to actually do it) and slowly increase the time and speed of the treadmill as you find it easier to complete. Add some floor work (abs), squats and lunges.

Look at the Calorie King website. It is fantastic and free. It has an online food diary, tells you how many calories to eat, has an excercise diary, free meal plan etc..

    Check it out..

    Good luck

MK - I've tried to lose weight a few times... more than I care to remember. I'm always successful... it just never stays off. And the reason was, I was always looking at a short fix - get the weight off. I never really got into my mind that it is a lifestyle change... until now. In the past, increasing my exercise and incidental activities is what has worked. At the moment, I am seeing a personal trainer for 1 hour twice a week and also doing cardio at home most of the week (I usually have 1 day off depending on my work roster). And I have also stopped making excuses. There is no excuse any more. I have a treadmill at home, two fitballs, therma bands, free weights (which I can't use at the moment due to an injury), boxing gloves and pads, skipping rope. But at the moment, I only do cardio and a couple of small exercises at home. I've been doing this for about a month and have lost about 3Kg... but I'm sure I have replace fat with muscle because some of my clothes are loser and people are commenting on how my shape has changed...

Hope my waffling helps in some way...

    I recommend CalorieKing too.
I was losing a very small but steady amount of weight per week, but helped me realise better what calories are in what and that I have to exercise as well as making better food choices. I think walking is excellent.

I've found that when I carry the little one around the house to settle etc. I do lunges instead of pacing. I have buns of steal. Now I just need to budge the middle bit.

I've pulled out the exercise bike.

If your not motivated, then there is something else that is more important to you, (its called secondary gain) You need to let go of that before the motivation will stick.

Of course you can hon! What is it that makes you think you can't do it?

Remember, it takes time to see the results. Focus on the positives first, like you have achieved a session of X amount of time. Then it might be that you might feel more energised. It will happen. You can do this. I have faith in you!

Try to break what you're achieving into smaller goals. And remember, everyone has bad days/weeks - I've certainly had a few!!!

Lastly, I'll leave you with two quotes which I often remind myself of when I'm struggling...

A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step

    and

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it.
