Yeah I guess it is. We did Las Vegas as the first stop on our round the world honeymoon. We were there 4 days I think. I thought it was OK.
DH loved it.
I hate poker machines/gambling so it's not my ideal place to visit - he is the reverse.
We stayed at the Luxor (I highly recomend the hotel). We did a trip to the Grand Canyon and a day dirt biking across Death Valley which was cool. We walked the strip a few times and did a show saw the casinos etc. The M'n'M shop is a sight to behold.
It's definitely a place to see.
We also did Sanfransisco on that trip (as opposed to flying into LA airport). That's a neat place to visit too.

We have also done the fly/drive thing in NZ. Two totally different holidays there and then fiji is different again....
Guess it depends. Do you want to be a tourist or have a relaxing holiday?
The flight is long, but since you won't have kids it's not so bad.
