thanks everyone for the replies!!!
id love to go as we can go kidfree, wont be able to do the casinos etc.. with the kids next time, so much to consider, maybe i should get some prices for the 3 and go from there!
We were in Vegas for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. DH loves the place - it was his 12th trip. It's not really my kind of place (hate pokies & no idea what I'm doing with card games). We stayed at he MGM Grand - had a fantastic big suite (with no view). If we went again, we'd stay where we could see the Bellagio Fountain. We did the helicopter ride out to the Canyon, saw Tom Jones, did a little gambling and discount shopping. We were there in May and it was stinking hot. We hired a limo at the airport to take us along the strip to see all the pretty lights on the way into Vegas.
If we went again, I've told DH we'd go via Hawaii or Tahiti or something.
1) to avoid flying through LAX, cos I hate the place with a passion and
2) so I can have a relax on a pacific island, which is my idea of heaven.
It depends on how much time you want to take, but maybe do 3-4 nights in Vegas and 4-6 nights on a Pacific island on the way home. That would be ideal.
How about a stopover in Hawaii on the way there or the way back? It will break up the trip. We went Hawaii - LA (Anaheim) - Las Vegas - NYC for a part of our RTW honeymoon. We stayed at the Luxor too, DH loves to gamble so I stayed in our suite and ordered room service from the spa and watched cable.
I loved, loved, loved Hawaii and am planning a trip for our 10th wedding anniversary (sans kids, we'll take them another time!).
LA's pretty boring IMO, I'd go to San Francisco as a side trip if you didn't want to leave the west coast mainland.
