Thanks Smithy. I appreciate everyone crossing fingers for me
Saph hang in there, im sure those follies will grow nice and strong. As for the bruises, i only get little ones from time to time but never had big ones so cant help. Let us know what the nurses tell you. Hope they clear up soon so you dont have too much trouble injecting.
Baby Dreamtime Ill jump on tonight and let you know about my previous cycles after i check my TTC diary at home as i have the worst memory EVER! DH always picks on me about my memory. As for this cycle its been as follows:
Wed 15th Apr - AF
Thurs 16th Apr - BT
Sat 18th Apr - Start Puregon 125 (This already was a change from previous as i would usually start FSH straight away)
Wed 22nd Apr - BT
Thurs 23rd Apr - Start Orgalutran with daily FSH
Fri 24th Apr - BT & U/S
Sat 25th Apr - Up the puregon to 175
Mon 27th Apr - BT & U/S
Wouldloveabubba hope all is going well
Went into clinic today for another BT and U/S and found that my follies have grown nicely since Friday. They are between 11-15mm. Back on Wednesday for another BT and U/S and the nurse said hopefully if all looks good on Wednesday i should be in for pick up on Friday. I really hope she is right, I would LOVE to have pick up on Friday!
Saph i didnt see your last post. Shame they couldnt give you an answer regarding the bruising, now you will have bruises on your legs too! Wont that be a great look. I hope that the higher dose does the trick for you. I too have lost about 6kgs and am pretty sure i am taking the highest dose i have ever taken so not sure about the weight affecting the dose amount?!
Great News Paula, keep those follies growing so you have some nice strong and healthy eggies in them
To everyone else times can be so tough going through IVF but I promise that it does work and as hard as it may seem you are all a day closer to your forever baby
Baby Dreamtime i checked my diary for you and on the first IVF cycle i did, i was on 100iu but only produced 3 eggs. On my second cycle i start at 175iu and was dropped down to 150iu and produced 12 mature eggs and i didnt make a note of the third attempts dose. At the moment, it looks like i have lots of follies again so as far as i am concerned, it looks like it isnt making a difference whether it is an antagonist cycle or down reg, i seem to be responding similarly.
Had a bit of a freak out this morning. I had a physio appointment so i had to take my meds with me and inject in the car after my appointment. I injected the Puregon, fine, injected the Orgalutran and then all of a sudden my belly went all itchy and red. I ran the alcohol swab all over and left. As i was driving i looked down to see if the redness had gone and then noticed that my belly (about 5 cms all the way around where i injected) was all puffy and bumpy, like when you get a mosquito bite and it goes white and puffy. I was so worried i was having an allergic reaction or something and that something would happen to me as i was driving! I rang the nurse and she said that she wasnt too concerned but to just keep an eye on it and try not to irritate it any further. She said its pretty normal to get a bit of a reaction from time to time. Scary!
Hey Paula, this happened to me every time I used the Orgalutran and is completely normal but as you said a bit scary
The redness lasted about 30min for me each time.
I am glad your cycle is going well, apart from your scary rash whilst driving incident xx
I am in constant amazement at the amount of bt's Sydney does in comparison to Melb. I mentioned this to FS and she commented Syd may do less scans, which is clear isnt the case with your protocol. When you say af then bt - what BT are you having every second day, my fs said she would be happy to accomodate my wishes, and I dont want to be jepardising my chances by not having these bt's. Thanks hun.
Hi to all you lovely ladies
Smithy, Where are you at hun, when is af due, so you can move onto your fet xx

Nicole i am relieved to hear to hear that it has happened to someone else before. Kind of puts my mind at ease a little more.
wouldloveabubba i have been with both IVF Aust and now Sydney IVF and they have both always done lots of BT and U/S. The first BT after AF arrives is to check the hormone levels at that particular point and to help them decide on a dose to start you on. All the others are to check the progress of the follicles. So how many BT do you usually have during one cycle?
Hi Paula, glad now you have changed clinic and 1st Antagonist cycle is underway....I hope this is the one for you hun! Also good to see that you have responded so much better when the dose increased from 100 to 175iu. As my last Antagonist cycle was a bust, I am thinking to suggest an increased dose to my FS for the next cycle. Mine has always been 150iu, because I responded really well they didn't bother to change it, now I am think maybe its the reason my last cycle only produced 5 eggs comparing to 8-15.
WLB - no Bt that would be heaven. Tomorrow will be my 9th blood test and I am probably still a few days away from trigger.
Paula - I get a reaction from the trigger but never the boosts.
AFM - Yeah finally going in the right direction E2 was 510 today. Bloods and scans tomorrow. Sorry I have been a little neurotic, Sometimes I wonder if not knowing your levels is better.
wouldloveabubba that is really weird that they dont give you any BT. How are they supposed to monitor the progress of your follicles? Mmmm interesting.
Cuddlepie you have to do what you feel is right, dont let the FS boss you around. On the other hand though, my FS told me that he would be much happier for me to produce a smaller number 4-5 and have better quality eggs than 15 any they be crappy. So its a bit of a catch 22. You just have to follow your instincts and do what you feel is right.
Saph i havent found out my E2 levels this cycle at all. I didnt want them playing on my mind so i thought, its best to not know and just go with the flow. Im sure that if something wasnt right they would tell me.
Today i am waiting to hear from the nurses with the details of my EPU ON SATURDAY Thats right, i am going in!! Wooohooo. Very excitied to finally have the first part of this cycle over and done with and anxious to find out all my number, ie eggs, fertilisation, etc. I also have to comment on the fact that i am so glad i have changed clinics. Its nice to see a clinic that works around me, not me working around them. Saturday EPU that was just unheard of before. At least i dont have to take time off work and i also have Sunday to recoup.
AFM - well we are bust they cancelled me today. They sent me home with a bag full of pills and stuff. They have no idea why I didn't respond. So 2 weeks on the pill, have started on Metformin, still taking my reductil and an increased starting dose of puregon. So If dont lose 10kg in the next 2 weeks with all the wieght loss drugs I am now on I dont know what I should do. LOL
Anyway I am going to Take A leave of Absence for a while and pull together the courage to continue with this journey as my body has taken a bit of a battering this cycle for a big fat zip and not even getting to the finish line.
Hi Saph, I am so sorry about cancelling, I know the frustration of it, I too had my last cycle cancelled. I hope the new dose does the trick for you next cycle. A leave of absence sounds wonderful, by my DH is out of work at the moment and we are dependent on my wage. Once he gets a job I will ask if we can swap lol.
Smithy, hope you are well, your FET is getting closer
Paula, thanks for the information re your FSH dose. I have started another thread re this also in case you are interested. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-down-reg.html All the best for your EPU tomorrow, will be following along and praying for a BFP for you.
CP, I think I am about as excited as you to see what your results are for your BTs, I hope you get some answers.
WLAB, Loula, Sara and everyone else, thinking of you all and praying we get our BFP soon.
Saph so sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. Stay strong and i am sure your leave will do you a world of good. Best of luck hun.
Baby Dreamtime i will have to give that thread a read. Thanks.
Big hello to everyone!
Well i am booked in for 8.30am tomorrow. Looking forward to the new procedure. I have always had a general anaesthetic for my EPU's so to have a local and had DH in there with me will be a nice change.
