Hi everyone
I really need some advice....
I had my first stim cycle in September 2006. I had 8 eggs collected, 6 fertilised and 4 survived to 5 day old blastocysts. The first transfer was 1 fresh - no success. I then had two more frozen cycles with no success. A fourth frozen cycle was cancelled becuase the embryo didn't survive after the thaw.
I started my second stim cylce recently, and had my egg collection today...9 eggs this time.
All through my treatment and sessions with my specialist, he has said that I should stick to transfering 1 embryo at a time because I am still young (33 next week) and that multiple pregnancies are more risky. He also said that transfering more than one embryo doesn't increase the chances of preganacy.
I have done some research lately and I have read that transfering more than 1 embryo does increase your chances, and not only that, when you use a frozen embryo you decrease your chances for that cylce by 30%. I was astonished by this figure (I got it off the Melbourne IVF web site).
It does make sense that fresh would be better
Does anyone have any advice, or experiences that could assist me in my discussions with my specialist? I am really torn about what I should be asking for?
