    Hey Willow,

I also had cramps last week after my EPU (had EPU last Weds, transfer on Friday), and in fact I am still having cramps, mild now, but none the less they are there and I've never had this before. I am hoping it is a good sign that the little embie has taken up home!

On another note, my SIL has just called to see how I'm doing. I know she is trying to be supportive, but she's said that not to worry if it doesn't work as I'm still young (I don't feel young, I'll be 31 in a few weeks) and have got ages yet! I cannot believe it! what an insensitive thing to say! It is so frustrating, she has 2 kids so can't possible understand.

    Hope everyone else is OK

Megan, glad your transfer went well. The full bladder thing is a nightmare! My BT is on 9/02 so we'll all get our results within a few days of each other.

Hi willow I have mmild cramps every time, usually easing off and then starting again about 4 days after transfer, I assume that its the embie trying to implant???

Megan - loved Baby Lab - did you see the girl with 9 embies transferred?? Can I just ask - do you have to have a full bladder for transfer - My clinic has never told me this, does it make it less/more uncomfortable?? Good Luck with the 2 ww, will pray for u

WIllow - so pleased tf went well. Praying for u 2- lots of sticky vibes to u.... Dr sacks phone consult is 2 moro, so he may be held up again as I have a lot to ask!! I will be in SYdney on 15th so may go and see him however if I need a uterine biopsy I doubt he will be able to do it as by then i will be in the middle of my 2ww.

Off home now for another night off wide eyed sleeplessness, Ive had less then 6 hours in 3 days. Hormones apparently??

    hi ladies

willow and megan - i'm so very glad you transfers went well and were uneventful! good luck for the TWW - hoping for BFP's for both of you!

Clare - welcome - you'll find a massive amount of support here

Shaz - disappointed i missed Baby Lab - i know i've seen something similar previously - but gee, nine embies! that just seems wrong - i know i've seen stuff previously on the news and stuff where they've done large number transfers - and then had them take - and there's so many complications and usually end in sadness. i like the policies in place here where a limit is placed on the number of embies tranferred - it makes so much more sense!

to everyone else - sorry i've missed you in personals - i'm having a shocker today - both DH and I have been unwell today - looks like hubby has gout (ouch) - but the doctor hasn't ruled out spider bite (interesting things to be tossing up between!!!). i'm having a massive flare up of IBS and in a whole lot of pain (been reduced to tears more than once) - actually - quick question of the ladies who done injections prior to IUI - what's the chances of side effects from the meds - mostly what's the chances of my stomach being more upset then it is already? i feel like i'm passing razor blades when i use my bowels (sorry, i know - TMI) - i'm petrified of starting the meds and getting any worse - and i couldn't get an appointment with any of the Doc's at my clinic today - if i haven't improved by morning, i'm ust gonna find another doc - this is ridiculous!

Hi ladies a quick one from me as i feel DH needs the attention right now.

But i must vent (a little ) i went to the GP over a week ago as i thought i may have an infection and the GP gave me a stick to do my own swab (which i found weird) and i did give him a urine sample but he said all was OK anyway i was back there tonight and they had a few emergencies so i had to wait for ages (and i dont mind that, it may be me one day) the ladies on recption were FANTASTIC i just said i dont thing i can wait another hour (yes i hear you gasp) i just wanted to have a urine test for UTI, they said they could do it, so they did and it has come back with a preety nasty infection and they have had to send it off for more testing (great) still i then had to wait to see another GP that was available. I told him that my FS had given me a script for anties as im prone to suffer infections with transfer and he told me to just start taking them now.

I have emailed my FS just to see what she makes of it though.

So sorry for rushing into myself but needed to get that off my chest. Thanks xx

Now Megan and willow Fantastic for both of you good luck in the tww i have every thing crossed for you.

DB - no you dont need a full bladder for transfer, this is only for the girls having a transfer sone under ultrasound so it can push up the uterus so they can see it on the screen. it fantastic to see the little embies going in but a little uncomfortable at times too. I love it though and my new FS doesnt pratice like that which is a shame as but times ive had it done i got a BFP.

BG so sorry about the IBS and im sorry i cant help with any tips on meds i havent done IUI

Welcome clare and good luck hony

Hi sass havent seen you for a while how things?

    Hi there,

Twomums - I am 12 days into my cycle as well but I don't know for sure when I'm going to O do you know for sure that your's will be in two days?
I have had my 3rd bt today & is up to 1000 but they say it's higher than a normal cycle (because of chlomid) so it's still not time.
So I am in for another b/t tomorrow which by the way I feel like a pin cushion.

Shaz - HAPPY BIRTHDAY for you tomorrow.

Willow & Megan - I am so glad everything went well for you both today & I will have my fingers crossed for you.

Clare - welcome, I hope your time can come soon.

Alex - I to hate it when people say but your young, what the hell has that got to do with anything.
I have actually had dr's say that to me & at the time I was 25.

Nic, Zap & Boo - are you ok, haven't heard from you guys in ages.

Willow & Megan - so glad to hear things went well for you both today

Dream bub - good luck with your transfer and hope you have an excellent birthday

Mstickles - welcome to the thread, hopefully you'll be moving onto the preg threads before you know it

Sazz - sorry to hear your appointment has been put back - all the waiting is so frustrating isn't it?

Alex - hope the embie is implating itself nicely in there. Grrr to your SIL - how insensitive. Comments like that from people make me so mad.

BG - hope you and DH start to feel better soon - sorry i can't help, i haven't done IUI before.

Loula - hope your FS gets back with some advice quickly, it gets very confusiing when you have two different DRs telling you two different things!

Jo - Haven't heard from you in a while - hope everything is going well and O doesn't keep you waiting too much longer.

Me - I haven't been around much, have had so many things going on lately haven't had much time to jump on here. We have our FS appointment on Monday to find out when our first IVF cycle will be so we're really looking forward to that - of course we're still praying for a miricle in the meantime!

Sorry to everyone i missed - there's so many posts to read its hard to keep up - hope your all doing well.

Wow guys, I don't know why I waited so long to do this, I am feeling better already - I think the most difficult part about this is the lack of understanding and everyone around me being pregnant. Thanks you all for welcoming me!

BG - I have only done IUI with clomid and a trigger on the day before insemination - it had no effect on me really except for having cramps after one of them. Maybe you could contact your FS and tell them what is going on??

Happy birthday Shaz and good luck tomorrow

Sazz - I hope we do have our IVF stuff happen together, it will be nice to compare notes.

Anyway thanks again everyone, I will get better at the personals as I get to know you all better.

    Hi,

I've just read the new post by Schaz "New IVF test may double success rates" it sounds too good to be true, so I went onto the SIRM website. I've posted a question about costs for international patients. I know it will probably by a crazy amount of money, but it's always worth finding out.

Has anyone else read this? If so, what do you think? It would be fantastic to increase the success rates. With only 8 days of my TWW left I am getting more and more anxious...

BG, I hope you're feeling better. I haven't done IUI so can't help you with your question. Take it easy and get a hot water bottle for your tummy.

    Got to dash.

    Hi All

Wow - what a lot has been happening!

Alex, Willow & Megan - fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed for you (makes typing a little difficult) sending you all stickyvibes

Clare - wishing you a warm (if somewhat belated) welcome. I'm new to this thread too and the locals seems quite pleasant

    Shaz - Happy Birthday!!

Loula - hope that you get some answers soon - nothing like conflicting info to make you feel better.

Jo - got to love the pin cushion effect don't you. I was really sick a few years ago and spent my days trying to work out how difficult it would be to install a tap into a major artery that could just be turned on and off whenever required (DP told me that the Dr I told was very enthusiastic but thought that I was hallucinating)

Hi to everyone I have missed - more later

    Howdy girls,
Alex, yep SIL seem to be insensitive all round!! Recently we had a b/day thing for my brother and everyone there seemed to know she was pg but us!! They kept making remarks which we worked out and later on my mum just anounced to me in front of everyone that they are expecting. I didnt know which way to look or if i should run out of the room. Later when we were by ourselves my brother went to tell DH and myself but we alreadly knew so kind of destroyed his anouncement. Difficult for all 3 of us. He wanted to tell us NOT in front of everyone... would have made it a lot easier I can tell you!
Megan, Alex, Willow sending you for everyone!! Stay sane over the TWW if you can!
    Boo, thanks for your support
Taffy, Hi! Great idea for the blood tap
Loula, GGrrrrrrr to the infec. Hope you feel heaps better soon you poor thing.
BG, sorry to hear about the IBS. Ive had a touch of it in the past but nothing like youre going through hunny. Hope it passes soon (no joke intended)Give yourself lots of TLC in other non-food-ways. Maybe a relaxing massage could be suggested to DH?
    Hi everyone else.
    Bye for now

Thanks everyone for Birthday wishes. They are throwing me a lovely mornning tea at work shortly which is nice. DH bought me some lovely earings and wrote such a lovely poem in my card - I have to share it. Roses are red, Violets are blue, First comes our baby - then come the poo!! Very romantic, brings a smile to my face
Alex, willow, Megan - Hope you are sane and hanging in there.
Lou - I have heaps of UTI's myself, many that dont show up in testing??! But I feel them so clearly they are there. They dont sound painful if you never get them - but if you do - you just cant focus on anything else. Hope you are feeling better ...
PS - forgot to hit submit - have had morning tea - YUMMY

    HI Girls

Firstly - SHAZ - happy birthday! the poem from yout DH is so sweet!

thanks so much for all your kind words over the past day or so - it's nice to have a it of support, i can assure you! things are starting to improve - (very) slowly - but an improvement is a good thing! finally got to see my GP today, who's given me directions to take it easy, eat (like THAT's high on my agenda at the moment!) - just to keep it bland - and wait for it to heal itself.

had next visit with my FS this morning - starting on injections tomorrow night, BT next Friday - then US after that - might all be a happening thing before Valentines Day - woo hoo. i'm so excited, and yet scared stiff at the same time. i guess it's just another - albeit newer - waiting and guessing game. yay me! My FS was brilliant about everything that's going on with the IBS - changed my metformin tabs to once daily slow release (which apparently have less side effects) as one of the side effects of it is the upset tummy.

ah well - time to "kick back and relax" for an hour or three while DH is a work.

    Hello Lovely Ladies!!!

Just thought I would write as I have been missing for a little while now!!!
Have just been busy going back to work (School term) and haven't had anything exciting to report, but have been reading every day!!!

Welcome to all of the new ladies... you'll love it here, but hopefully you won't have to stay here too long

Willow and Megan.... much love and best wishes to you guys for the 2ww xxxx

As for me, I was due to see our new clinic on 25th Jan, but we had to cancel - DH just started a new job 3 weeks ago, and couldn't get the time off... they wanted to see us both, so we had to reschedule until 22nd this month
I am very very keen to speak to a different clinic and get their opinions, but am wondering realistically how we can afford the cycle with Sydney IVF - $7500 roughly up front is just soo much more than we have ever paid!!!
DH has done a little research of his own (!!!) and also wants to see the clinic at Westmead for their opinion too - he has spoken to a few people who highly recommend them.
Any of you girls that have been or are currently going through Westmead IVF, your thoughts and stories would be MUCH appreciated!!!
I have made an app to see them later this month too.
SO! In the meantime, I have my follow up app with specialist who did my lap for Tues, so that will be good, as I spoke to him after the surgery but its all a bit of a haze as I was still coming down from anaesthetic!!!
Have been doing my acupuncture & herbs, and will keep bding now that I have an unblocked tube, and theres always a chance!!!
My acupuncturist gave me a new product to try - a bottle of Mona Vie.... you can Google it and get the info - Its very interesting, people are taking it for all types of ailments - MS, cancer, back problems, general well - being, etc, but she has given me a bottle to try to aid with my herbs, and DH is also drinking it now to add to sperm quality.
The notes on it are pretty amazing, its made from berries from the Amazon... I think it was also on Oprah recently.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes - she has given me a whole bottle that retails for $45 - $60 so anything is worth a try!!!!!!

My best wishes to all of you for wherever you are in your current cycle.....

    Love Holly
    xxx

HollyBolly - nice to know there's another teacher around! I've found this week so hard - just completely exhausting, but there's only one more day until the weekend and then we can take a break. Are you primary or secondary? I've also heard people speak highly of Westmead IVF, and we probably would have gone there ourselves, apart from the fact that we need ICSI, and as our clinic doesn't charge extra for it, we actually end up better off at Next Generation Fertility.

BG, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better now, hope the rest of the recovery follows soon. I was switched to slow release metformin recently too, and while I initially didn't notice much of a difference, I have noticed that I get a lot less episodes of upset stomachs since.

I'm way too tired for more personals, I'm really sorry to everyone. It's been a long day here - acupuncture this evening (I fell asleep!) and with having to do some shopping on the way home, I've been out for 12 hours straight, and on top of my weakened state from the bleeding over the weekend, I'm looking forward to just curling up in bed and sleeping. But I do just have to add... only one more week until I see the FS again!

Yay BW - i'm glad you've noticed a difference with the slow release meds - i'm so looking forward to having a calmer stomach for a while! enjoy the early night BW - only one more day to go.

ok, feeling a little more with it now, so can put a little more detail in about FS visit (was really tired this arvo, so had a kindie nap this evening and feeling a little better now) - anyway - went through all the info for the injections and stuff with nurse, and FINALLY got results for DH's SA - he has high motility, really high forward motility, but his count is on the low side of normal. they're not too stressed though - because they clean he sample before the IUI she said it would be more concentrated and still fine. She also said they'd try IUI only the once, maybe twice at a stretch, but due to the severity of my PCOS they will probably move straight to IVF if i don't get a BFP in the very near future - after reading the posts here of people who have gone through IUI repeatedly, i was really surprised at this - has anyone else come across something like this?

the other thing she mentioned is that, due to the PCOS, i have a higher than average chance of hyperstimulating - and that i have to monitor my weight, which is annoying, considering i'm trying SO hard not to be jumping on the scales at the moment cos i'm trying to lose weight without putting too much pressure on myself - bugger! could be interesting! apparently at the u/s they should be able to tell how much risk there is of OHSS developing, but i'm a little worried. i'm sure i'll get over it though!
