I am feeling better from the endo scrap out (laparoscopy) still getting extremely tired though.
My Dr has said to give it 3-6 months of unaided trying first, if we are not pg we are to go back to him & either go some fertility drugs or do the washing the swimmers & giving them a shortcut to the egg trick or of course ivf.
I have a feeling I will be back in 3 months not 6 that is of course unless we strike it lucky.

Thankfully neither DH or I had to do mine - I just fronted up at the hospital at the nurse-in-charge did it for me. It's way different that the puregon pen, so I'm not sure if I could have done it myself.
Jo - IUI is intra-uterine insemination. It's what you talked about later in your post, where the swimmers are spun and washed, and then inserted directly into your uterus via a catheter which goes through your cervix (don't need an anaesthetic or anything!). Personally, I'm a big fan of it, since it worked for us when IVF didn't oh ... and it's way cheaper lol.
Out of the 7 eggs, 6 fertilised which was a great effort I thought. Dr thinks we should get 3 to 5 that are good enough to freeze, they are going to watch them for the rest of the day but at the moment some of them are still 2 cells. The one that was transferred was 4 cells, actually it had split again by the time they put it on the screen which was fascinating and it was grade 2 so the dr was happy with that.
He was a bit disappointed that we only got 7 eggs but said our fertilisation rate was fantastic. He said if I need to go to full stim again they will modify the drugs a bit and take me a little longer to try and get more eggs but fingers crossed we might get a good result from this stim cycle. We find out on Friday how many will be frozen. So now we wait.
So now we wait, I am hoping that the next 2 weeks will fly by, my sister is away at the moment who I constantly chat to on the phone, and yep you guessed it, is away for about 2 weeks, not that she knows what we are going through as I haven't told them the particulars, but she always has something happening to keep me amused.
Now I better go and do this assignment, which I have left until the last minute and have a presentation on tomorrow night at uni. IVF and uni is not the best combination, especially for a serial procrastinator like me.
Will do some personals after I get some work done.
Jane, congrats on the transfer of that embryo and I hope he or she decides to stick and go all the way!
The first cycle can sometimes be difficult because everything is such an unknown quantity. One of the positive things is that they can find out how your body responds to the drugs and then modify or tweak the dose or treatment schedule a bit next time if necessary. Fingers crossed that this won't be a consideration of course.
Oh I'm with you on the procrastination. I have a small pile of rubble in every room at the moment and all I want to do is eat and surf the net. Good luck with your assignment!

Jane, 6 out of 7 is fantastic! It's great that you will have a few to freeze, that's the best possible outcome.
I can't believe how good I am feeling after EPU this morning. They had a bit of difficulty because my left ovary was sitting above my uterus (they knew this after the last scan as she had to scan that ovary abdominally as it was too high up). The dr told me it was hard work but they managed to get 6 eggs. I'm happy with this for my first cycle. i ring tomorrow for fertilisation results and time for ET if everything is going well. That general anaesthetic was great! lol I looked at the clock at 10.10 and then next thing I knew it was 10.45 and it was over!
Feeling a bit sleepy now and just some mild cramping (AF pains are much worse). DH is looking after me though and I might go and have a bit of a nap!

WTG Jane and your super duper eggs, that's excellent!!! Megan i have all my fingers and toes crossed for you, its excruitiating waiting on the fertilisation results isn't it, but still its a good feeling that SOMETHING is happening...All the best ladies!!

Hi to everyone i missed, having trouble keeping up with you all! I took your advice and I have made an appointment with my gyno for 28th Nov - it will be here before we know it. What happens from there? Will he refer us to a fertility specialists? (we've already had all the tests done)
How exciting....spoke to my nurse a little while ago and all 6 eggs fertilised! Couldn't have asked for a better result. Transfer is scheduled for Saturday morning, so lets just hope they all continue to thrive. Would love 5 to freeze.
Jane, like 7 is your lucky number I am hoping 6 is mine! We were married on 6/6 so I hope it's a sign!!
Feeling quite sore today, more than yesterday. Nurse said she is not surprised as my hormone levels were very high and it's probably best that I have tomorrow off to rest as well, which I already am....so back to work Monday for me.
Jane, are you on the Crinone gel during the TWW as well??
