will update tommorrow feeling good woke up with no pain am a little bloated and the tiniest bit crampy now but otherwise good
Well... I am finally back in here... finally feeling ready to go round #2 of ICSI... it's been about 9 months since our last/first cycle - and I am feeling nervous... excited... but so, so scared... all the "what-if's" running like crazy through my head.
I should get AF around 27th-28th of this month - so jabs will start around then...
I thought that I'd poke my head in here and introduce myself... hopefully it makes it feel a little more real now...
What has happened to this - last post before fatgirlslims is Aug 30th?
Hi fatgirlslim and welcome - Fingers crossed for your cycle. Im about to start #3 myself - antagonist cycle IVF/ICSI with 1st jab on 1st Oct so we will be doing everything at a similar time. Very exciting. All the best hun
Hi everyone, thought id come into this thread and share the latest for me! I had an appointment with my FD on tuesday and it didn't really go like i thought it would. I discussed my concerns with him that i was worried there now might be something wrong with me due to 3 failed attempts and 1 early miscariage. Although he came back to DH's problem he said that he hears me but he actually thinks the reason we still arn't pg is because DH's sperm quality is so bad (very low sperm count, no motility and alot of abnormal sperm) i always thought it didn't matter what the problem was i thought once doing IVF we had the same success rate as anyone else does! but guess i was wrong! Anyways he sent me for BT's for my peace of mind and DH had BT's and he is also going in next wed for a DNA fragmentation test on his sperm, my DR said if this comes back bad we may not be able to have a baby together or it will make it alot harder! I feel like im a strong person for all we are going through but everytime i manage to pick my self up and move on i get pushed back down again! To make matters worse we won't get sperm results back for 5 weeks!! they take 3 weeks for the results to come in and then my DR is away then we go to Fiji so we need to wait until we come back, not sure if this is a good or bad thing? i just dont want it to be on my mind 24/7. Sorry to be such a winger but just so unsure about everything at the moment. Best wishes to everyone x
Hi everyone
Wow - everything's disappeared! Well, to update, my last transfer was yet another BFN, possibly a chemical - won't know for sure till I see the fs which I'm putting off for a couple of weeks. My first slightly positive test anyway..
Oneday - I'm glad your fs is doing the tests for you - I hope you get some answers you can work with. 5 weeks is a long time, but Fiji sounds good!
Oneday I know it all sounds pretty bad and daunting at the moment and don't forget that the FS will give you the worst case scenario. Don't forget that yes you had failed attempts but that you and DH also managed to get a BFP even though it didn't hold. I know that 5 weeks and time away seems long and that you aren't focusing on trying for a baby but sometimes a break and getting results that give you more understanding of what is going on are better in the long run.
Loops hope everything is going well and its great that you can finally get back on track and start another cycle
AFM AF has arrived so I'm just about to do my last FET so hope that this one is it for us emotionally and financially this whole process has drained us and my time is running out. I so don't want to do another full stim as my eggs now will be much older and that worries me alot. Anyway hope you all have a great weekend and its good to see the thread back up and running
Hi Lovely Ladies
Trishy ~ thanks heaps hun and good luck to you, hope AF arrives very soon so you can get the ball rolling
Oneday86 ~ the waiting is the worst part isnt it but Ive been finding that if I stay busy the time usually passes quickly, I hope it does for you. Enjoy Fiji - that sounds wonderful. I thought the same thing that IVF/ICSI was supposed to eliminate all male factor fertility issues but we are in a similar boat to you have done 2 cycles now with 1 not taking at all and the other ending in early m/c. So I think male factor does have some affect still but perhaps not as much. Perhaps its just not our time yet though hun and at least you did get that BFP so you know it can happen. I hope the tests come back better than you expect. Is DH on any herbal fertility remedies? - we have found they have helped my DH's count and mobility etc. I know its one of those things sometimes people dont like to hear because we want a child now as weve been waiting so long but you are young still hun so at least you have time on your side and also options. for you though that the tests come back good hun, all the best!
Kass ~ Ive probably already said it but again so sorry for you BFN -
That's the way I looked at it - at least if it was a chemical you still got that step closer. Next time will be the 1, GL!
Terry ~ thanks hun, im pretty excited to be trying again. Wishing you all the very best for your FET as well.
AFM ~ Just wanting time to scoot by now up to doing my 1st jab etc - getting the show on the road. But talking about shows - im off to the Melbourne show next week for a week showing cattle - FUN! So that will help to pass the time.
gday guys yes belly belly went haywire all this week lol.. got our bt results came back as a bfn which we knew from all the bleeding so no progress was made but yesterday we saw the FS (new one as old one retired) he was great so supportive and encouraging and comforting. He told us that we are on the right road doing icsi and we are in the higher percentage of it being successful so that was comforting and he also said we didn't do anything wrong last cycle he said it's just a numbers game of which emby is going to hold but was very very happy that with our antagonist cycle that we got 9 eggs fert and then 6 took and got three very strong blasties so he said everything is playing in our favour. SO just waiting for af to arrive in about three weeks so we can do our FET no drugs at all this time woohoo all I have to do is use OPK's and two bt's and then put our snow bub in and sit and wait. He is also running a test I asked if we could rule out as my mum and two sisters have Coeliac disease which cane be a huge contribution to infertility so did the bt find results on monday he said if it comes back pos don't stress he said all we do is put me on a gluten free diet before FET and he said it's instant result so am relieved as the previous FS didn't think it was necessary to test.
ANywho sorry about a me post just on quick will come d persies later on so just sitting basck enjoying life for a month and being happy for the first time in ages.
Hugs to you all have felt lost without bb this week
Hey ladies, thanks so much for your kind words, i love BB and all you wonderful ladies on here Loops, my DH is on sperm max which is from a natural shop and he is also taking vital greens (he mixes a tablespoon of the powder stuff in water each morning and drinks it) It cost about $100 a month for the stuff but its got so many good vitamins in it and it helps flush out any heavy metals he may have in his system. I put my DH on menevit 6 months before having BT's when we found out there was an issue and not sure if you have seen my DH's sperm results but they were bad! no motility, very low sperm count and on the border line of having too many abnormal sperm, so i don't think it worked for my DH thats why we have tried something new this time. Goodluck to you loops, i have everything crossed.
Trueblue, good luck with everything, i hope this is the one for you. I found my natural cycle was alot easier compared to my two medicated ones
Terry i too hope this one is the one for you and you don't need another STIM, its a crapy feeling xx
Kass, i think its a great thing that we did have a sticky embie its just finding the right one now to stick full term
One day: Yes our new FS told us to bin the menevit he said they are pretty much rubbish they have only been tested by the manufacturers we had more of a response from the naturopath/chinese herbalist.
Hope this is your round though fx'd
I see with the change of server it has lost some of the threads, in which I replied to most of you, so I will repost it and I am sorry if it is doubled up and have discussed it already.
Hope that this finds you all well!
True: Sorry to hear of your BFN, stay positive chick and at least with the FET you don't have to go through the whole thing. How are things coming along with you other than that? GL with your results for tomorrow, hopefully you don't have Caeliacs although it's not too bad these days there are full product ranges out there for it and some flavoursome stuff also.
Amy: Sorry to hear your cycle didn't work out. Sending PT's your way.
Saffy: How are you going at the moment?
Loops: Only a couple of weeks left for you until you start your cycle, you must be getting excited now. Have fun at the show, showing your cattle. Don't get lost in the crowds
Terry: Sorry for the BFN!! Hope you are well and getting on track for the next cycle, FX it's the one for you!
Kass: Sorry that this one hasn't worked out for you. Try to stay positive, it will happen for you, never give up! sending lots of PT's your way!!
Danni: How is everything with you?
Fatgirlslim: Hello and welcome! Good luck with your upcoming cycle, hoping it goes well for you and your time in this forum is short lived. FX that this cycle is the one for you!
Trishy: Good luck with your next cycle. Hoping we see some good results with you.
Oneday: DON'T need to apologise or feel like you are whinging! You need can't bottle it up and we are here to support you! FX the results come back good. Sending lots of Positive Thoughts your way! Even though your doc is away are you able to go in and see someone else like the nurses or something to get your results sooner. In the meantime, go to Fiji and try to relax and enjoy the holiday while you can. It may be just what you need at the moment.
AFM: Been sniffing and jabbing away. Had my first scan yesterday (Friday) and we are on the way and FS is happy with the progress and said it's all going to plan. Have about 12 Follicles in total, with the largest one in size so far being 15. Have my 2nd scan on Monday and looking at EPU Wednesday. Been having really early mornings to see the FS so we have to leave about 5:15-5:30am.
Been in Brissy just over 2 weeks now and have another week to go. Where we are staying is in a Valley and it's absolutely beautiful with amazing views, so peaceful and just like being in a home away from home. I miss my furbabies, they poor things will hate being in a Boarding Kennel for 3 weeks, I bet they can't wait to get home.
Being out of the capital is a real challenge. We've just moved into a regional from Brisbane and are keeping our Brisbane FS, but it does mean big stays in the city (which can be expensive) and flights at the last minute (also expensive). Wouldn't change FS for the world though.
We did a Froz ET this month and monitered it with BT with pathology lab, but they were so unreliable FS says we are going to medicated cycle next time round.
Hope you get home soon and Monday's scan is monster.
I hadn't checked back in here since my last post - because I thought I was a bit of a loner in here... but y'all got the party started without me
LOOPS ; I am pretty sure we were both in this thread on my first cycle... I started jabs 31st December and got my BFN (boooo!) in Feb 2010. I am happy that we'll be at about the same time as each other - hopefully this is our time...!
ONEDAY - chin up! I know exactly how you feel! Our first ICSI cycle - I was CONVINCED it was going to work! We had 6 or 7 great embryos... but apparently the first 4-5 days are all the egg's work - then the sperm needs to do it's job - and well, it didn't... I really thought that the whole thing was to get the sperm to the egg and into the uterus... and that all the drugs, hormones, supplements would be beacons of flashing welcome lights for this little emby... but no. My hubby has poor morphology (anywhere btwn 1-4%) I have him on Menevit, CoQ10 Supplement, Omega Fish Oils, no spas/saunas, boxer shorts & Acupuncture... poor guy. Luck you about Fiji! Maybe you can ask your FS to email or call the result through? You don't want to be stewing on it?
KASS - i'm sorry x
TERRY - fingers crossed for this FET. sending you happy, positive vibes...
DREAMSINTOREALITY - Everything going to plan is a REALLY good thing! My first was a complete rollercoaster - but in some way - I think that it was just prepping me for this time 'round... which *HAS TO BE* the real deal!! Best of luck to you...! Hope everything keeps going just as smoothly!
As for me.... I just want it over with! Bring on AF! I never look forward to AF - but I really want to get this ball rolling so that it can stop consuming my life - and I can actually move physically towards my goal... I have a HORRENDOUSLY painful wisdom tooth flair up right now - comes and goes regularly... and I am worried that it's going to turn into an infection and I'm gonna have to get them out ASAP... this will mean cancelling this cycle... so I am hoping, hoping that it jut miraculously goes away on it's own. Damn wisdom teeth.
I hope you don't mind me just hanging about here - it feels a bit funny to keep checking in when I'm not actively doing anything!
Fatgirlslim - I've been putting off having my wisdom teeth done for years - I feel your pain! Hope it clears itself up soon (and stays good for at least a year!)
Dreams - sounds like you're going well - Good luck for your scan tomorrow
True - so sorry it didn't stick this time. Hope your coeliacs test comes back clear, restrictive diets aren't easy - though I'm sure with your mum and sis you'd handle it fine.
Loops, oneday - you're right - even though it feels wrong to be hoping for a chemical, it would still be a big step forward. I'm really worried after 6 transfers that something is going very wrong if not even one can stick for a while.
Well I haven't had this much time on my hands in months, so another post from me
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend (well as wonderful as it can be)
Intheslowlane: Do you know about the Qld government rebate that you can get if you live more than a certain distance away from specialists, etc? As we don't have a FS remotely close to us, we get a percentage of travel and accommodation costs refunded to us. If you would like more details on it, let me know.
GL with your upcoming cycle! FX it all works out for the best
Fatgirlslim: Waiting for AF seems to be the longest wait. Hope she comes soon so that you can get the show on the road. That's not good about your Wisdom Teeth, here's hoping that it miraculously disappears and they stop giving you trouble.
Kass: We don't mind you hanging out here without anything going on. We all do it, because we all help each other throughout the process.
AFM: Hubby took me out on a drive today, it's good and just keeps me going and enjoying the time we have in the big smoke.
Thank you for all the well wishes for my scan tomorrow. I will keep you updated with how it goes.
Well have a great night ladies! Sending positive thoughts out to you!
Just a quick update on how my scan went this morning.
Had scan #2 today. Largest follicle was 22 and FS said they should be able to retrieve around 10-12 eggs. I am happy with that, even if it's less, We will both be grateful with whatever we can get.
Trigger tonight at 10pm and EPU on Wednesday.
I am so excited but reserved at the same time. I think I am just cruising along and taking it as it comes.
I am going to wake up tomorrow morning and feel like I have forgotten something as I won't have to sniff or jab!
