Hi girls - I'm so sick of losing my replies in here. I type them out all nicely and then when I go to post they just disappear - aaargh! Apologies but I'm not going to re-type all te persies again.
Everyone take care of themselves. Try not to panic or stress. There is always so much confusion and questions when we go through these cycles. Can drive us crazy along with the hormones.
Had my EPU today and waiting to see how many fertilise overnight.
Go the antagonist cycle - I'll never go back to Synarel after experiencing the ease of this!!!!
Porsche - your FS sounds like a #*%$head. I too would be feeling pretty lost and confused after a stuff-up like that. Sometimes I think that with the low success rates of ivf and fet's they must think they can just sit back, not do much then blame it all on bad luck. I don't know what it means for the rest of your cycle but I hope you can get back on track. (Sorry, I'm no help!) I know what you mean about being forced to BD too
Mindhugs - here's hoping your eggs all fertilise. How many eggs did they collect? (the terms all sound so awful don't they - sounds like we're chooks)
Loops - it's nice to 'see' you back here. You definitely sound like you're doing a bit better now.
Ferrals - hi - I've been lurking on your other thread too. It's been so long since I've done a full stim cycle so I can't shed any light on your numbers, sorry. Really hope this cycle is the one FX
Sarah - glad you've made your decisions and are embarking on this interesting journey once again. I've got a tough one to make myself now. I'll explain at the end.
Sorry to everyone else I've missed.
AFM - like I said, I've just had an unsuccessful FET cycle. I've spent most of the last 24 hours in tears, but now putting on the brave face and getting over it!
So, now of the 4 FET's I've done 3 have resulted in a really low Hcg at BT (the other one was great but mc at 8 weeks). So, now that there's a definite pattern emerging I'm wondering what to do next. Does anyone know anything about NK (natural Killer) cells? My FS mentioned that I could have a uterus biopsy to diagnose it. It just means paying lots of money as it'd be a day surgery thing and missing a month or two of TTC. Obviously I'd pay anything if it meant getting a baby but just wondered if it sounded like a likely thing to have in my situation. Can anyone shed any light???
I still haven't learnt the art of a brief reply on here!! Hope you're all having a lovely stress free day
I've been lurking too and I'll do some personals hopefully on the weekend. I had a BFN this month and am now taking this cycle off to get myself and my body back on track for the next cycly late July.
Anyway just wanted to drop a line for Kaybee firstly I'm sorry you didn'y graduate from the other thread either. Regarding your testing its a persoanl choice I know 2 ladies that have had it done in here one has now concieved and it happened the very next cycle. I didn't do the NK test but I have had a whole lot of tests done through an immunoligist. It took me about a month to get an appoitment and he tested everything turns out I have elevated blood cells he was really nice and I only paid his fee got most of it back from medicare and he made the blood people bulk bill. Hope this helps. If you want more infor PM me
Mindhugs ~ So glad to hear the antagonist cycle is so good. How many did you end up with? FX they all fertilise for you, GL.
Kaybee ~ thanks hun, I am feeling a lot better, things finally looking up a bit. Im sorry about your 3 non-viable pgs. GL with decisions. Everyone is different but Id probably give it a couple more shots 1st and then think about doing the NK test. But then again i may feel different If I was in the same shoes, hard to say. Or like Terry suggested perhaps get some other cheaper tests done first. Wishing you all the best.
Terry ~ Hoping the time off goes quick and you get your BFP soon!
Mindhugs - maybe try typing your reply on a word document and then cut and paste so if you do lose it you have a copy as a back up. I do thaat when i type long responses.
Kaybee - Well I have lost a bit of confidence. but I think we have gotten to the bottom of it all.
I rang the nurse today and asked about the synarel interfeiring with O. She said don't worry no it won't. I then asked her if you could O withpout having dominat follicles she said she didn't think so but I should check with the Dr so she transfered me through and he was busy with a patient and to call back at 4:30. So I call back at 4:30 and he's busy again he'll call back. Ok 1/2 hour later I get a call.
He said that according to my B/t I was about to o or had just O'd and I mentioned that at the dildo cam on Tuesday there was no dominant folliecle and that i haven't had a BBT rise to confirm O. So he said well seeing as I haven't had a temp rise then then no I haven't O'd (I've been saying this along) anyway it is part of having PCO in that my LH can surge but no O happens. So long story short he wants to see me again tomorrow for another dildo cam and another B/T. he wants me to start synarel on Sunday (he already has me on synarel as of Tuesday). So synarel will wind everything down and AF should arrive. I don't know how long that will take but it's on my FAQ list for him tomorrow.
Phew!!!!!!
Good luck to you who are pill popping, sniffing, jabbing, EPU, ET, FET & Tww'ing!
Porsche - you've really had the run around, you must feel exhausted. I hope it's all sorted from here.
Kaybee - sorry to hear about your BFN. I would be wanting answer too if it were me. I'm not sure what tests you've had as Terry said there are a range of immunology type tests and there's a list in the Long Term Assisted Conception thread. I had a battery of tests done prior to IVF. I had the NK one done by biopsy when I had a laparoscopy. I told her that I wanted to be opened up only once so do everything whilst you're in there. I was very lucky and private health paid for most I was about $1000 out of pocket. You can however have a lap done through the public system so you could ask your FS about that. I have heard of it being done by BT as well, but I don't really know anything about that. As for having to miss a cycle, my FS didn't mention anything about that. She would have put me straight onto an IVF cycle but I wanted a month break. I started IVF 2 months after my lap.
Mindhugs - I hope you've pulled up okay from the EPU. GL for the fertilisation.
Loops - yay!! for selling the tractor. Enjoy your time away from the whole TTC thing.
Ferrals - I just wanted to wish you luck. I"m not sure of about E2, OHSS etc.
Sarah - Hi, wishing you luck with your cycle and hope the waiting time flies by.
Hi to all the other ladies who may be lurking around.
AFM: It's quite over in the TWW so thought I'd update here and hope you don't mind. I had some cramping over the last couple of days and feel like AF is on it's way. I have been feeling more up beat in the last few days, yay. No more bleeding since the one off on Thursday so maybe the nurse is right in saying it may have been the crinone extracting out old blood. I'm trying to enjoy my last few days of being PUPO and not really looking forward to testing. Testing seems to spoil everything - lol!! I will however probably test on Monday or Tuesday ahead of my BT on Wednesday. I need a few days to process so I can keep it together when the nurse gives me the news.
The got 13 eggs at EPU, 11 were mature enough to be used. We did ICSI and 7 fertilised overnight. Now FX for them to make it to Blast. Considering I'm in my late 30's and my Puregon was reduced to 125 units as I OHSS'd on 150 units last time - not too bad. You know what they say - it's quality not quantity. Still, it's always nice to have some in reserve - right?
I'm gonna be holding my breath.
Good luck to all of you who are jabbing, sniffing etc etc. Hoping we get some more sustained BFP's in here!!!
Hope you're all out enjoying your weekends (not sitting at a computer like me).
Terry - thank you for your advice about the immunologist. I've just done a blood test (they took 13 vials) so maybe I should see if that shows anything up first. Then I would at least have those results to show the immunologist.
Lisa - thanks for your info too. The FS didn't say I would have to take a moth off, but if I was having a biopsy this month it means having a general anaesthetic so I wouldn't be able to do ivf until the month after, that's all - I'm just getting impatient.
Mindhugs - your numbers are great - hope they keep doing all the right things over the next few days. When is your transfer?
I've got an appointment with my FS next thursday to decide what to do next. Has anyone done a natural FET cycle, not with HRT? I've only doen HRT ones and you have to start taking pills on day 2. So, I'm thinking that seeing as I'm bleeding now and have been for a few days that next thursday is going to be too late to start, unless I do a natural frozen cycle.
Anyway, have fun with all of your popping, jabbing, inserting(!), etc
Well we finaly have the same page with the FS. We have agreed that I'm not ovulating and I still have no dominant follicles. So I'm pill poping for the next 16 days. Halfway through pill poping I'm to start sniffing again and then we go from there I guess that is standard procedure. I'll get my BT results tomorrow and I have to ring FS at 7am. Much more happy with this now that we have the O or not O sorted. DH SA came back glowing which is just great something else for him to brag about lol.
LisaB - FX that that cramping is your BFP waiting to be discovered.
Mindhugs - Yay! I can't imagine getting that many eggs. Hope your not too tender.
Loops - Congrats on selling the tractor. Eases the pressure a little.
Terry -
Good luck if you are taking a break, pill popping, sniffing, jabbing, EPU, ET, FET & TWW'ing!
Kaybee - I did 3 natural FET's. I fell pregnant on my 3rd in Feb this year. At the time I had extensive endometriosis too (which we found out months later). This is our angel baby at 10wks. But I love natural FET. Nothing to worry about - very easy.
Porsche - once they got you all sorted out you will pull numbers hun. Luckily for me it's one of the few things I DON'T have to worry about.
AFM - nervously waiting to see if my embies make it through. I lost 7 out of 10 last time going to Blastie. I'm hoping that by using ICSI this time I lose less, since we only have 7 fertilised. My transfer should be Wednesday. My FS is away and I have another FS they call "Lucky L" (won't put her surname in here in case I get in trouble - but happy to PM for those living in Queensland who want to know - this FS seems to achieve where others fail.....)
POrsche: quick question have they looked for a cyst? that's what happened with my first cycle the synarel caused me to have a cyst which in a bt sjhows as really high e2 levels mayeb ask about a cyst and if they say don't know i'd be looking for a new fs but yeah before a scan the nurse said the bt was either me going to o or a cyst so give that a go
Mindhugs: fx'd and hope that you get those results you want try not to go too crazy in the tww
Hello everyone else hope your all doing well
AFM: Have been working this weekend so am exhausted but good stopped the pill yesterday woohoo so just waiting for af between now and wed and then bt on thuesday and start jabbing that night woohoo can't wait am excited as there is no suppressing this month no stopping anything just encouraging were hoping this makes a difference. DH sat down with me the other night and said if this round doesn't work then he doesn't want to waste any more money on ai he wants to go straight to ivf this shocked me in a good way. This year there have been so many babies born around us it must be the baby year so it has to happen lol..am all excited at the moment in august my sister is moving back to vic from darwin while her hubby is over in afghanistan so am excited to meet my new neice as I haven't seen my lil sis since christmas when she was only 5 months preg I think and then in september my husbands sister is having her baby so more exciting stuff then we found out yesterday our neighbours who are great friends of ours who were begining to think kids would never come they weren't trying but they weren't not trying either if it happened it happened and they are close to 40 so this will probably be their one and only well they will be due in dec they kept it quiet from us as when they found out ti was the day before our insemination so was wonderful of them to think of us but it was awesome news to hear so lots of babies everywhere... anywho am hybernating between milkings today too cold outside so am going to do some baking hugs everyone
Trueblue - I have cysts anyway due to the PCO. My EZ was down not up and my LH was up. When I had my BT in Feb my EZ was up and my LH was up and I know I O'd then because I was UTD. I haven't bben on the synarel for that long only a couple of days so I doubt that would have had an effect so quickly. But I had another dildo cam yesterday and nothing had changed from the Tuesday.
I just though i'd pop in and introduce myself. My name is Amy and DH and I have been TTC for about 26 months now. Ive popped a bit about our history below.
We had our first appointment with the FS about 8 weeks ago. DH has had 2 tests so far that have shown no sperm at all present in the sample. We thought it was just a blockage but that has been ruled out and we have been left with some rather upsetting news.
The Dr got some info from both of us, how long we have been TTC etc, then took DH off to examine him. As soon as she walked back in, she said it was def not a blockage.... my heart sank.
She said she thinks DH has an abnormality with his DNA and he is missing part of the Y chromosome in his DNA. He has had 4 blood tests done.
They have said if two of them come back with nothing then there is nothing that they can do and we will need to use a sperm donor, if they come back ok then they will need to go in and see if they can aspirate them out and use them for IVF.
So off we went on our holiday to Greece for 3 weeks and came back. (This was 5 weeks after the tests had been done), the results still havent come back and now our FS is on holidays!!!
We go back to see her on 7th July to get the results and to schedule everything in ready yo go. They said that DH and I will go into different hospitals at the same time, I will go into one to have my eggs collected and DH will go into another to have his sperm aspirated.
We have already had out HIV and Hep blood tests done, when we go back on the 7th we will have our counselling session as well. I think we will have to wait until the start of Aug to start our first cycle as AF is due before our appointment.
Amy - hi there, I remember you from the 6 month TTC thread. You've been through a lot to get this far. Greece sounds like a perfect holiday. HOpe the time goes really quickly for you and you will be on your new path to TTC in no time.
Trueblue - I hope all those babies around you is a good luck charm for you. GL for this cycle.
Porsche - I'm glad you are back on track. HOpefully the cycle will be smooth sailing from here.
Mindhugs - HOpefully you will have nice blasties waiting for you. In terms of the 'lucky FS' it could be your good luck. i'v read that IVF success is not only about embryo quality and uterus receptiveness, but the transfer plays a really big part in it too.
Kaybee - GL with your next cycle. I don't know much about HRT and natural FETs. If I need a FET I will probably need some type of medication as my hormones are out of sorts - I ovulate too late and have a short LP.
Hi to everyone else, wishing you heaps of luck where ever you are at.
I won't do an AFM update as I've put one in the TWW just before.
Hi everyone
I doing a FET on Friday. Up until now I've been feeling good about it, but I'm starting to worry that it won't survive the thaw and that's all I can think about Is anyone else at the same stage?
Gday loverly ladies just goty off the phone to the nurse af came a day earlier than expected stopped the pill on sat so we are doing the bt a day earlier so tommorrow monring and then definately starting injections on thursday night more bt's next week and also the ultrascan end of next week and then all looking good for insemination hopefully on the 12th or in the days following sooo woohooo very excited it's come round alot quicker than I thought yay...
I feel like running round the house jumping for joy anyone would think we just got a bfp lol but am just so excited to get stuck into round two and get into the crazy tww hopefully with a good ending this time...
Amy: firstly so sorry you had to come in here and so sorry to hear about your devestating news about no sperm dh must have been shattered but congrats on taking the huge leap into donor sperm so that you can both have your precious bundle. Hope your stay in here is a short one
Kass: Chin up it's normal to think the worst hopefully you get a wonderful result and remember even if you only get to one that's all it can sometimes take goodluck for friday you'll be fine and so will the snow babies
