The trigger injections on clomid, i didnt know that they could do this. That was never suggested by my Fs. What does this make happen on the clomid?
So I am new to this, first time forum user. I found this site about a week ago on a really bad day. I couldn't stop reading, I just wanted to know more. It made me feel so much better to know that I am not alone, there are so many other women just like me. My friends just don?t understand, they try, but it's not the same. None of them are even trying to conceive.
A bit about me. I'm 25yo, been TTC for 2 & 1/2 years now (ever since DH and I got married). Got diagnosed with PCO about 12 months ago now. Decided to try something a little more natural for a while at first, so I went to a Naturopath for about 8 months. Whilst she did help me to regulate a reasonably normal cycle (prior to seeing her I had 2 a year) she was still unable to make me ovulate (unaware of this at the time). I just started seeing my Gyno 2 months ago. Have just gone through my first cycle of 50mg Clomid and I ovulated for what looks like the first time in at least 2 & 1/2 years, yey! AF arrived back naturally which brought on some mixed emotions. On day 18 now, think I ovulated yesterday or the day before, not entirely sure. I have heard a few of you talking about exectly when you ovulate. How do you know?
Tamara - Nice to hear of different things to try (IUI). Why have you stopped though? Can't you try another round?
Beckie73 - How'd you go with your 40 hour window? My friends always say to me "It's great, you sex life must be amazing at the moment", unfortunatly I find it a bit of a chore at times. Does anyone else feel the same?

As for my I have stopped at the moment because the injections are just not working. i started at 50 ml then up to 75 then 100 and although there were folicles they didnt grow any bigger than about 4mm and they need to be around 16 i think. So im seeing the specialist on Septmeber 10 to decide if i have the golf balling surgery or ovarian drilling. but still more options to try

Firstly make sure you have plenty of Ovulation Kits on hand. You are supposed to test yourself from about day 12-18, this will show you within about a 72 hour period if you will ovulate then. I personally could always feel when i was ovulating, i got a sometimes minor and sometimes very extreme pain in my stomach kind of like period pain at the exact time i was ovualting. Make sure just before this time and on that day especially you are doing plenty od bding with partner.
Another tip not to sure if you have been told, it is much better to take the chlomid at night then site effects are a lot less, you kind of sleep through the period when it would normally make you extremely moody, the only thing i relaly experienced was the extreme hot flushes. My Dh said that it was like being married to a 70 year old.
I really hope that chlomid is your answer, unfortunatly for me, Im up to Ivf, just started back on the pill and underway. Fingers crossed that if all goes to play and my body reacts the way it is supposed to will be doing the transfer late Sept very early Oct.

I just posted in another thread but I think this one's also the right place - I'm kind of in two different "baskets" (hehe, does that make me a basket case, feels like it at the moment!) ... LTTTC, just about to start on Clomiphene but also been advised to look into IVF.
A bit about me: My husband and I have been trying (in a very relaxed way, no charting, timing or anything) for about 2.5 years, with no success. A few months ago he decided to get himself checked out - ironically, his results were fine, but *I* have a few issues! I had a laparoscopy a month ago, and learned I had some minor endomitriosis, my left tube was blocked and my right tube wasn't that great, either.
So here I am. We've been advised to start enquiring into IVF, and in the meantime keep trying to conceive naturally. My obgyn also agreed to start me on Clomiphene, but only after I asked if it was an option, so it kind of feels like he's just humouring me. I guess if your eggs aren't reaching your uterus there's no point in sending more?
This has all happened very fast, and I'm feeling a little dazed. I can't believe how complacent and in denial I've been - leaving it this late to try for a baby (I'm 30, he's 35 and we've been together for 10 years) and not even realising 2.5 years had slipped away while trying!
I've always considered myself to be a lucky person so I'm hoping I will be lucky again in with the Clomiphene and not have to face up to the huge effort, expense and emotion of IVF. On the other hand, I've had a fairly smooth ride in life so far (or is that just my positive attitude showing? ), and I wonder if this is my first really big challenge ... and whether I'm up to it?
If there's anything I can share with you about what I've learnt or experienced, I promise I will. I hope you'll be patient with me if I'm a bit ignorant or don't have a lot to contribute to start with!
