Looks like I might start taking my temps again. I stopped as they were all over the shop and ff was changing my dates constantly, so it got confusing. I get no EWCM anymore or O pains (used to) but not sure if the lack of EWCM is a side effect from the clomid? I heard taking Robitussin helps in that department?

Mez & Bec - Interesting that you are Oing later in your cycles, I think that might be happening to me as we were really good with the DTD during the time we were told to.... Might have to go back to DTD every second day for the whole cycle (ugh!)

Better go to bed, it's getting late

RhiChiChi, I'd give the OPK's a whirl. If you get them from the chemist you can get a pack of 7 with a HPT as well. You can also buy them in bulk online. It's worth knowing when you o, it makes the whole BDing thing let tedious. My FS said once you get a positive on the OPK, DTD for the next 3 nights (usually). AS much as I keep M/Cing, I've been pregnant twice in 7 cycles, so the process must work!

    All the best,
    Bec

Bec I have PCOS too and I eventually got my prescription for the clomid
I am in the outer south east suburbs of Melb and I will be looking for a FS if next month is not successful
I know of 1 called Hayden Najaa or something like that and he is next to Monash Clayton and is supposed to be good. Haven't seen him but I might give him a shot
just a quick note while i go through all the posts, i am in gippsland and i see Dr Mac Talbot he is in Monash IVF which is in Richmond i think but he comes down here also and i think he is wonderful. I am also overweight and he has only mentioned it once and that was basicly that all the Drs say to lose weight but he also said that losing the weight is easier said than done and has not mentioned it again. I have had no negatives about him at all.

    Hi ladies

Tammara that's so exciting that things are moving for you with IVF. I have my fingers crossed for you. Feb 13 isn't far away!

Re OPKs, I buy them in bulk from ebay - so much cheaper compared to the chemist.

I got the results from my lap today - everything was 100% in perfect working order. So in a way it's good news, but it still means that it's a mystery as to why we haven't conceived. My FS has said to try for another 3 months on clomid and if no luck, then we'll need to turn to IVF. So I'm really hoping that it happens for us soon. Not sure if I'm ready to do IVF in 3 months, even though I'm so desperate to have a bubba. Guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Porsche, make sure you get your lap pics from your doc - it's not every day you get to see your uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes!

Wow I didn't know they could do that lol. That will be very interesting to see. I'm apparently 2nd on the list for Monday. I'm getting really nervous now.

How many cycles of Clomid have you already done? I'm glad you are in the clear. It's a load of your shoulders at least.

    Hi Porsche

I was second on the list too and had my op at around 8:30am. There wasn't much of a wait. DH stayed with me until just before they wheeled me in, so see if you can have some support stay with you for as long as possible.

I'd done 2 rounds of clomid before my lap and once AF arrives I'll be back non clomid but only 25g dose, so hopefully thee side effects will be minimal on such a low dose.

Good luck on Monday - you'll be fine. The op was much less of a big deal than I thought it was going to be.

Thanks for the info and well wishes. DH is going to stay with me and I think he'll hang around with book in hand lol.

Hopefully you don't get many side effects on the lower dose. I'm going to be on my 7th cycle when AF arrives in the next couple of days. I feel FS waited too long to have this lap booked for me. But any way not much I can do about it now.

I have an appointment with QFG on the 17th as well. I'm tired of the emotional heart ache each month. I need to be more pro active.

Tammara - oh, wow! I will be hanging for your post on the 13th! That is awesome news. Best of luck

Mez - That is good news about all being clear... GL on the Clomid. I hear ya about the side effects - I am on my last day of it & the hot flushes are shocking atm. I am at work but feel like I need a really cold shower! I have been drinking so much water my kidneys can't cope!

Today is my last day of work - I am taking Long Service Leave to concentrate on ttc - getting healthier (diet & exercise) etc.... I am hoping the break from work will assist and I fall pg whilst on my leave

    Better go do some work.

    Have a great weekend all

    Hi girls!
tammara- how exciting that IVF cycle is getting so close. Hopefully it all goes well for you. Fingers crossed!

mezmoz- I'm glad your lap didn't show up any nasties, but it's annoying not knowing why. I hope you get your answers soon.

    Porsche-good luck for you lap

RhiChiChi- I really hope your break is just what you need. GL with your TTC journey, and enjoy your leave!

Any floaters- hope all is well with you.

AFM- I'm day 34 today, 13 DPO. I did an early HPT this morning and BFN. I fiugured as much. So, AF should be here right on time tomorrow. Oh well, back to FS to see what follows 7 rounds of clomid...

Good luck to you all this month, I hope it's your BFP time,

    Bec

    laparoscopy PCOS?

    Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining your site but you are all so similar to me.

I went off pill Dec 08 and diagnosed PCOS in April 09. I did 6 cycles of clomid (3 at max dosage) with no ovulation. I am now in 3rd month of naturopathic treatment but still no ovulation.

I have just seen an excellent FS, Gab Kovacs, who recommends FSH LH injections or laparoscopy surgery to burn the follices. I am going the surgery option.

He can get me in Thursday (4 Feb)! So I am freaking out a bit but reading your posts helps.

Unfortunately DH has to work Friday & Saturday so my mum would have to come and pick me up Friday morning from home and drive me 30mins to her house. Looking for advice...
    - the day after the operation are you ok enough to be driven for 30mins?
    - Do you have to lie down all the time or can you sit up?
    - my FS says work Monday after Thursday op would be no problem. What do you think? I have a big meeting Monday
    - also... have a good friend's 40th on Friday night, assume that even contemplating that is out of the question?!

I realise my questions seem a bit self absorbed but I was only told today that I could have the op on Thursday - hence the calendar hasn't quite been cleared properly! I could wait a month but hey, that's another month on top of the 18months so far and it is never going to be an ideal time. I have until Tuesday afternoon (2nd) to decide!

    Any advice appreciated!

Especially the golf balling has worked for people with PCOS that you know of!

    Thanks,
    Kim

Sorry girls - thought I would gate crash - was on this forum this time last year and still like to see what is happening.

Fingers crossed Tammara - it must be your time now.

MezMoz - just a quick note, i was on 50 mg clomid for 5 months, it was working ie I was Oing but it still ranged from anywhere from 14 to 23 days so was using OPOAS tests - which was how I found out where I was up to. Anyway, after 5 months had my lap/hys/dye and came out to find out it appeared nothing wrong, which was great but very disappointing. My FS said that I may have had "gunk" in my tubes and that is why they give you 3 months to fall again as your tubes are all clean, otherwise next stage. Anyway, the first month after I was back on clomid 50 mg and fell (we had been trying for 21 months in total by that stage). So hope this gives you some hope.... I have just under 8 weeks until I am due.

    Good luck girls.

    hi 20094me

i had the ovarian drilling (golf balling) in october/november last year but unfortunately for me it didnt improve anything. But in regards to after the op i was feeling fine that evening a little drowzy but i dont even remember taking pain killers at all. I would deffinately not rule out going to the party friday night, and work monday should be no problem at all.

The surgery is very (cant think of the word lol) it not big if that makes sence i think i only had two places where they went in - one with 3 small cuts less that 5mm and the other only had 2 little cuts the same size.

Personally i had no problems at all but i did have my gal bladder taken out in july so compared to that it was easy lol

i think you will be fine just dont push yourself, you will know if your doing too much.

hope this helps put your mind to rest

    Ladies!

Bec - thanks for your post - it does give me hope! I'm really hoping that it happens for us now that I've had a lap. We've booked a trip to Broome in May, figuring it will be good timing if we have to do IVF (having a break before heading into it) or we'll be UTD! It just seems crazy that if I'm fine and DH is fine, then why no baby!

Kim, re your lap I had mine on 21 Jan. In answer to your questions...

Yep, you can be driven for 30 minutes as long as your driver isn't speedy gonzalos and takes it easy. Don't leave the hospital until you feel good enough to walk to the car though (nurses won't let you leave until you feel OK anyway).

You get some heavy duty painkillers during the lap that last for a while after, and then you'll be given pain killers to take yourself. Don't wait until you feel a lot of pain to take one. Pop a pill as soon as you feel slight discomfort. Read my earlier post about laxatives and pain killers - don't take them unless you really have to!

You can certainly sit up after the operation, although I found lying on the couch the best position when i got home form the hospital, probably coz I was so drugged up still!

My FS also does all his laps on Thursday so you are right to go to work on Monday. You'll be fine to go to work unless you are a professional acrobat -then I'd wait a bit longer. If you just require your mind for the big meeting, then you will be fine.

See how you feel on the Friday night for your friend's 40th. I actually had the most pain on the Friday because I was just relying on popping pills to manage the pain and probably didn't take them as soon as I should have. You might feel like dropping in for a quiet drink, but you won't feel like kicking up your heels and partying until the wee hours. Hope this all helps.

Porsche - hope your lap went well. Do let us know how it went when your back online.

    Hi Ladies

I'm back. Lap went well yesterday. I'm only in a little pain from the incision sites. I've got 2 little cuts and they glued them Yay!!

Apparently my tubes are "all good". I guess that means they are clear. I'm not seeing FS for another 6 weeks. Is that normal? I'm guessing if it was urgent she would want me to come in sooner? That means I have to post pone my appointment with QFG for at least 6 weeks.

FS hasn't given me any more instructions on what to do now. I'm still on the clomid and this is now cycle 7. So I guess we just carry on trying?

Hi 20094me, good luck with your lap on Thursday. Don’t want to freak you out but just wanted to tell you about my experience with my lap as it seems to have been quite different to the other ladies. I had mine 3 weeks ago on Thursday. I was off work for 10 days afterwards with a full medical certificate from my surgeons. I was in a lot of pain all weekend. Was not able to sit in a car until the Saturday night, but I think if you need to then you will be ok doing that (it’s amazing what the body will do when you need it to). It has taken me a long time to recover. I don’t feel that my mind is 100% still, I know it sounds strange but I have trouble spitting out what I want to say (more than usual) and forming sentences that make sense sometimes (these can all be side effects of the aesthetic though). I had golf balling, dyes test and looking for endo done. Please don’t let my experience freak you out, the procedure itself was totally fine, the nurses were over the top lovely, informative and very very helpful. I too would suggest not taking laxatives unless you absolutely need to, I have not gone into detail on this site but let me just say it was not fun (I feel your pain Mez). Good luck with Thursday and I hope you have some answers very soon.

Hey Mez, sorry to hear you don’t have any answers. At least there is nothing seriously wrong though and so many women say that they fall just after having a lap, so hopefully that is true for you, me & Porche. I think I ovulated yesterday (with no Clomid) so I am seeing my gyno on Friday (which is day 21) and I will get her to send me for a BT to make sure. Good luck with your next round of Clomid.

Hey Tammara, I can’t believe how quickly this has all gone for you, it is really encouraging for me though. At least I know if we end up down that path we won’t be waiting for months and months to begin. Good luck with implantation, hopefully it will go as well for you as it did for frustrated, 1st time around, I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi to all the newbie’s, this site is a life savour. Even if you don’t post all the time it is so good to come in and read about everyone’s journeys, it really reminds me that I am not alone, doesn’t matter what happens someone else has been through exactly the same and someone will after me as well.

    Babydust to all.
    Love Keli xxoo
