Pollyanna - yep you're right. A lap does give you an incision site and you can have winding pain. I was lucky. My incision caused me no trouble at all and when the stitches were removed on the Friday (had it done Monday) everything was already almost healed. (A quick healer I guess.) My shoulder pain was due to the gas they use to "blow" you up but as I said I was fortunate enough for it to be more of an annoyance rather than actual pain. Also, not everyone feels discomfort from the gas.Everyone is different. Maybe I heal quickly, maybe I have a high pain threshlod, I don't know. But not every procedure goes exactly the same for every person and also it does not neccessarily go the same each time for the same person. Different person, different surgeon etc. As I said, I was lucky that time but it doesn't mean things would definitely go as smoothly if I had to have another one someday.
