Hey Jacksta,
That's no fun at allSending you a
I don't know where you are in vic exactly (country or metro) is, but I'd suggest seeing a osteopath or physio (one specialised in pregnancy if you can find one would be great). I'm seeing an osteo who does a lot of work with pregnant women, and she was saying that often when you "pop out" it puts a lot of strain on hips/back, which can result in a lot of soreness.
I'd been getting some round ligament pain in my lower pelvic area...(and I haven't "popped" yet) and she did some very gentle work on my hips and all the twinges have just disappeared - was fab!
Good luck and I hope you're able to get some help with it soon! My personal opinion would be that while fish oil may help a bit with the inflammation, you might want to do something a bit more targetted for whatever is causing the pain.
Cheers,
Belfie
thanks Belfie & Ausientic for your suggestions. I thought I'd write my follow up in case anyone else has any hip pain.
I actually went and saw a chiro yesterday, and apparently my right hip was really out - by a lot apparently. He adjusted me and I am starting to feel better, although because he said i adjusted very easily, it could just as easily pop out again. I am hoping this is not the case. He also told me to pad underneath me in bed, ie, lots of doonas , sleeping bags etc, as to fill in the gap under my waist, as my hips were pressing on my bed (I have a hard bed) , which also causes pain. I have done this and still they hurt - not as much though. I am seeing him again tomorrow, but I just think that they ache after about 15 mins of laying on them, and I just can't sleep. I hope to god this is just a stage i'm going through.I'm not a great sleeper anyway, which isn't helping. One of my friends told me that if I can't sleep its because the bubba is awake, and this habbit will continue after birth - so I might as well get used to it! Great!!
Have you tried a body pillow? I've found that the best way to get comfy in bed. By the way from 20 weeks you should not be sleeping on your back - you should always sleep on your side and preferably the left one.
