Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I got sucked into buying a Maybe Baby microscope from ebay and used it a few times getting the fern patterns at the most rediculous times of my cycle and to no avail.. to cut a long story short i have ended up seeing a fertility specialist (my sydney IVF doctor) and when i asked him about it, he laughed and said they are the biggest waste of money and very unreliable, my GP also said the same thing as well!
The more effective and accurate option is the ovulation predictor kits. You can buy these sticks on ebay for a very very cheap price.. ? think about 10 dollars for 12 or something like that.. they are similar to HPT's and just wee on them when you think you are going to ovulate or middle of cycle and two lines is 'go for it' and one line 'don't bother'.. BUT in saying that i do kow a few people who did fall using it, but when i questioned my doctor about this, he just put it down to good old fashioned 'luck'...
