They said without treatment 3-6 months. We're expecting a few months I think.
Don't mind me, I'm having a bad day. And DH has come home in a foul mood. He's going fishing tonight so at least I won't have to deal with him. Although I'll have the kids on my own.
WILLOW _ How is your mum taking it? I really wish I could give you a big hug. Your DH sounds exactly like mine, bringing his office-bad-mood home. Love that he's a fisherman, Alan has gills I reckon! Do you just LURVE the fishy clothes smell when they return from a day on the water? Alan drives me nuts with it cos he reckons because he is tired he can come straight to bed. Not on my nice bed sheets you can't my friend! Straight to the shower!
FREYA _ You have 3 boys & tonight you are down to 1 & you say that you are BORED! Holy heck woman, paint your toe nails, soak in the tub, hire a DVD, get a gf over, I can think of 6 million things you could do! LOL
Aargh! I posted earlier but lost it (courtesy of ds i think). And am not in the mindframe for personals now. We have no power, and probably won't for awhile. So i'm hot and bothered, and have two very tired boys on my hands who are trying to go to sleep now. While i log in on my phone! Add to that that after having a fair few tightenings last night, some of them painful, i rang max this morning. By the time he rang me back i was having some more. I'm to double my dose, and hope that it helps, he doesn't want to put me on the maximum dose right now. Which is fine, but the bloody salbutomol keeps me so wide awake! And taking it four times a day is going to see me never sleeping i think . Better than going into labour though . Sorry to just come and just vent, i'll be back properly once we have power. Willow, i'm really really sorry hun
Willow - just wanted to say that is very sad about your Nan, you are obviously very close with her, I hope you get to enjoy some special times with her now, it's still very sad.... I'm sorry. And I completely understand when you say that you feel you have disappeared, it's all way too easy for this to happen when you have a tribe of little folk - I feel the same way often, but keep reminding myself that "I'm still here, but will be on the back-berner a while longer" - our time will come around again - and what we are doing now is so important and special - you're doing a wonderful job with your boys, under trying circumstances at the moment. Hugs to you.
Deb - I felt proud of your Immy when I read your post, can only imagine how bursting your heart must have been - you write about her with such love, it's so beautiful to see this, you really help remind me what is important in this life, thank you. I pray your BP goes down, you have had that much stress, and obviously are not getting enough rest which doesn't help the BP - pity that FOTY isn't more useful, but you are amazing without him anyway. Hope things settle and your house sells, and you can move much closer to Tassie !!
Jo - huge congrats on your BFP - like the rest of the ladies have said, we pray for an uneventful 9 months, and we are here for the ride ahead! Enjoy it when you can xox
Spring - how's that boy B and your magic growth booby juice going??!!!! How has O taken to having a babe around? Remy being 16 months is a bit young to be too jealous, she tries to give Flynn her dolls bottle and keeps putting blankets over his head, so cute to see the nutruring coming out so early.
How's everyone else in here??
Kelly - how you doing hun? Are you home yet? Things will get better, but it does take time, meantime, keep your expectations low and be kind to yourself - get yourself a massage, facial, something you enjoy.
Hi to everyone else! I have visitors at the minute, so am a bit pre-occupied, but I'm doing okay, just so busy with four kiddies!
Willow - let me know if you need anything. Even though there is no chemo (TBH - I would have considered not having it too) there is a very definite need for good palliation. By that, I mean properly managed so she is comfortable, pain free and able to enjoy her time with her family. Chemo can really take it out of you and the side effects are often not worth it. You need to send me her name so I can keep track of her if she arrives when I am at work
Deb - she is such a sweetheart!! And thank you. You have enough to keep you busy at the moment but I may still be calling you. Just the ups and downs are making it hard ........ but I am currently sitting in the bliss of De-nile. It is cool here and without waves
Janie - rest woman!!!
Mako and Kelly - It is a rough road and you are perfectly normal. *they* just don't get it.
Big hellos to everyone. Not long home from work and debating the best path to bed DH is still at work so it is just me and the kidlets who are (at the moment ) sleeping. Very tired, emotionally exhausted and dealing with so many bl00dy pregnant women at work Most of the time it is ok but sometimes ................ Will be back to say hello to everyone tomorrow.
Oh Willow I am so sorry about your Nan's illness... I understand how confronting the knowledge of her prognosis is. It is very hard to hear this about a much loved one. Big cuddles my love... FWIW I am relieved that they made the call to not continue the treatment but rather support her & assist her to be comfortable. Chemo can be merciless - especially on one so elderly. I hope that you have been given contacts for good quality palliative care? There are many agencies that do home visits - I can't really help with that as I am in Qld - but perhaps Michelle will pop in & I am sure she will have lots of information.
This is a really tough time for you & your family. Remember her beautiful life & all the qualities that you love - focus on the gift that she gave you all -rather than the sadness of the illness that she has now. Give her a hand squeeze from me - she will be in my prayers...
Bonham, congratulations on your darker second line!!!
Michelle, I have been thinking of you. I hope that you are holding up okay.
Deb, Reading about your visit with Immy made me a little tearful. I had a pretty good cry when my OB held Grayson a few weeks ago. It was a long journey to bring him into the world and my OB really helped me through it all.
Lee, It is great to hear that you are doing okay. I hope things are starting to calm down for you.
Hi! to everyone else
AFM, I am right in the middle of my cycle but Grayson has been having a difficult time sleeping for a few days. I don't really know what is going on with him because he usually sleeps for 11 or 12 hours. I have been too tired to put much energy into TTC this month
girls, to everyone. Seems everyone is ust about having a rough time.
sorry ive been MIA last few weeks. Been busy setting up my home business. Just a little boutique store, won't earn me to much, but am looking forward to it. Ive named it "Inspired by Lilli" in mememorial to my little princess, heheh even have a little pic of her on my website banner Once its complety up and running you all must have a look and tell me what you think.
Well last monday Evangeline had her sleep study done. So many wires, i hardly slept a wink that night, just watching her with all them wires broke my heart. But she only paused her breathing a few times Though, cheeky girl decided to have a big deep sleep when we got home, and once again her alarm went off grrr.
heheh you should see missy's chubba rolls now, i love them!!! Also think she may have inherited mummy's thighs, poor girl. We also have or next lot of needles in 4 days can't believe my bubba girl is almost 4mths old. Where did that time go. Sorry the about me post, i will be back later for personals!!!
................nearly 3 years of only seeing her twice, TWICE. And she shows up in the middle of the night. I thought if babies were still feeding overnight she doesnt show. Explains why I feel like crap. I dont even have anything better than panty liners
So far she's being nice to me though so lets hope it stays that way, my periods are usually shocking. 10mths was a good wicket after bub I guess, sucks though I was enjoying not having to worry (and the minimal risk of babies surprising us...........)
Willow: hun, I am so very sorry to hear about your nan. By the sounds of it you guys have a very specail relationship. I just don't have the right word babe, I wish I could make it easier for all of your family. Please know I'm thinking of you and sending you my love.
Freya: You sound exactly like me. AF came back when O was 11 months old and I was still feeding him through the night. I hope she is gentle with you. Ever since having kids my periods have been so heavy, I don't know why they changed so drastically. How are uni preparations going? Are you excited/nervous. I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job.
Lee: B is going well thanks babe. Had a tough night last night with him having an upset belly but he managed to poop out whatever was bothering him by about 1am and was settled thereafter. He is just growing so quick, 3 weeks today and already in 000 and I'm even getting out some 00. He is just such a long and sturdy lad. O is doing a fantastic job, he has just taken on the role of big brother wonderfully. He is a very nurturing boy, very gentle which is a relief because I was worried he'd be a bit rough. Sounds like you've got your hands full. It must be tough with two littlies and two older kids but by the sounds of it you are doing a great job. Remy sounds just delightful, I'm sure they will have a very close bond as they grow together.
Deb: Great news that the mediation went well. It is a bit hit and miss with mediators but by the sound of it the universe was on your side. Immy is such a doll, it must have been such a special moment to see her embrace the NICU doctor. It also must have been very rewarding for him to see what a beautiful little lady she is growing into. I hope and pray the increase in the antihypertensives does the trick for you babe
Michelle: Just wanted to say you rock babe. You are always so generous with your time and advice for us when we are in need. I think the world would be a much better place if there were more health care professionals like you.
Rach: Glad to hear E's sleep study went well. I don't blame you for having a restless night that night. Which monitor are you using? I use and Angel Care and I find when they kids are tiny if it is off centre it can sometimes cause false alarms.
Laney: Wow, 11 -12 hours, Grayson is a champ. I'm stoked if B goes 3 (lol). Hopefully his sleeps sorts out again and you can get back to TTC next month.
Janie: Vent away babe, sounds like your hot and bothered and TBH I don't blame you. Being pregnant is hot work as it is but to have no electricity must be terrible. I hope it is back on and you can get some rest today.
Jayne: Spill woman, who is the visitor? I'm interested. Hey how is Banjo going? Haven't heard about him for a while.
Mako: Hope you manage to stay cool this weekend. Sounds like the lake/beach is the place to be. Pump up the aircon and watch some DVD's.
Well I have friends staying at the moment which is so nice. A very dear friend of mine has come to meet B. Unfortunately he had one of his most unsettled nights last night but it's murphy's law isn't it. She has a little boy and it is so nice to see how excited O is playing with him. I can't wait until B is old enough to play with O. When I hear them giggling and squealing with joy it just warms my heart.
Willow I'm sending you a huge babe. I'm so very sorry to hear about your Nan. You and your family are in my thoughts. Please call me if you want to chat about anything at all. My Grandad went through all the cancer treatment and then finally was told "no more".
I truly do hope your Nan has a pain treatment plan happening and the support of Pallative Care Team too
Freya Bummer about AF showing up but thats a pretty good effort in 3 years I hope she stays being kind to you.
Rach I had tears in my eyes(and rolling down my face) when I saw Evangeline's pics of her sleep study. But she passed with flying colours so that's wonderful news. Your business sounds great too. Love the name you've chosen for it. Just beuatiful. Now I need to have a girl to buy all the pretty hair clips
Michelle I hope you managed to get some sleep last night. De Nile sounds like a good place to be right now
I'd better go. Sage is driving me nuts today. All he wants to do is go outside and jump jump(on his trampoline) and swing lol but its just way too hot atm.
Spring - Um Ive got my textbooks sorted out just need to pay for them. Daycare is sorted out; I managed to get the boys into one down the road (the older two for both days and Stells for one because they dont have space on the other right now) which will be handy for Ryan picking them up. I think a friend will watch S for me on tuesdays for now. Im stressing about leaving him; he is such a mama's boy and so attached to booby, he does alright for Ryan but anyone else he just screams and screams *sigh* Ive made the decision to wean him at 12mths though so its only going to get worse I reckon. Im excited though!
Mako - so far only little cramps and just a tad over spotting. Bit weird actually because my AFs between kids were horrible as per usual. Would breastfeeding affect AF like that?
OMgosh its so quiet without the boys. Stells is sleeping. Im getting sick of traipsing back and forth between houses; will be so glad when the army do something about housing so we can move back in together. I'll also be glad to not have to penny pinch so much, trying to stretch what little I have left after rent is a nightmare. I dont know how single mums do it for years.
On the upside we are getting a puppy in April! Friends of ours breed Aussie Bulldogs and want someone to place a puppy with for breeding in a few years. They have two girls of their own but one is on her last legs breeding wise and they want to keep the bloodlines going. So I convinced Ryan we should help them out seeing as we have breeding experience. So we get a pup for free and in exchange when she is 2 we breed her for two litters (with 10% of each pups sale value given to us as well) then we can desex or breed ourselves. Jett is so excited, he loves dogs and has already said he is going to train her and feed her everyday lol Rip is borderline scared; he takes a few hours to warm up to friends dogs everytime we go there..........last time it started with a few scared yelps when they walked near him, then an hour later he was *almost* patting them and then squealing and running when they turned to him, then an hour after that he was asking for pats, then at the end he was trying to ride them like horses Stellan kept feeding them out of his bowl at dinner so Im guessing he is a fan because they like to eat too! They name their litters by letter so this one will be Litter C - Im either going to name her Caoimhe (kee-va) or Chaya (CHYE-uh).
Michelle
Rach Glad Missy moo passed her sleep tests but I sure its still a worry for you.
Thanks girls for all your kind words. To be honest, when I'm not around her or my mum I'm kinda OK with it. But being with her is hard knowing what's going to happen But this time is special and just the other day she told me the story of her wedding day, which I'd never heard before. I found myself walking around her house looking at all her things wondering what would happen to it all once she was gone and her house was empty
I'm not sure what's happening with palliative care. I know that a palliative nurse has been coming to the house as has a community nurse. My mum and aunties are taking turns staying with her so she is not alone. As her condition worsens I guess they will need to make a decision about whether or not to keep her at home. My aunties and mum think she feels more secure when she's at the hospital, so it may be her choice to go into care permanently as time goes on.
Michelle, will PM you her name. Thank you
Well looks like my dream run with D's sleep has come to an end He has been shocking at night lately and now the last few days his sleeps have gone to pot too. DH is driving me nuts with it saying we have to 'fix it' because he's not 'going back there again' (ie the issues we had with DS1) I just want to scream when he says that!!!
