Hugs hun. It's a truly awful feeling.

I tried EVERYTHING under the sun (even prescription meds), but the only thing that worked in the end was an OTC sleeping tablet called Restavit. It wasn't a complete cure, but certainly improved things. Did make me a bit sleepy, but that was worth feeling better! I used to take 1/2 in the morning, 1/2 at about 2pm and 1 at bedtime. As I got better I cut the dose down to 1/4 of a tablet when I just was feeling a bit icky.

Call mothercare (or interstate equivalent) if you want to be sure about the safety. They were the ones who put me on to it.

I hope you start to feel better soon! Oh, and how many people are telling you that you must be having a girl this time because you didn't have ms with DS but you do this time? Lol. My friend had the same thing (no ms first pregnancy with her DS, and bad ms with second baby), but she ended up with another gorgeous boy, hehe. And my ms was identical with both DS and DD
yep, totally had that heaps already - cos your pregnancy symptoms are such a good indicator of what you are having - NOT!!
My SIL had two dramatically different pregnancies and had two beautiful girls so not reading ANYTHING into it at all - other than the fact that I feel crappy LOL

    Poor love.

Anything really salty helped me - Vegemite on cruskits, rice crackers, two minute noodles, Le Snaks and pretzels. Always had pretzels in my bag and ate them before getting out of bed too.

I took lemon sherbet lollies to meetings.

The key for me was to eat every two hours, even if I felt terrible. Helped instantly.

Hope you feel better soon x

I had morning sickness all the way through to 34-35 weeks with both of my DD and then it got replaced with reflux which burned like crazy. I was hospitalized a few times for dehydration and got I don't know how many maxalon injections. The only thing I found that helped was if I hadn't been able able to eat and the acid had built up was to make myself throw up (for me it was easy just drank a huge glass of water lol) and then straight after eat something and I would usually be able to keep it down for a few hrs. But I was sugestered SOOOOO many different things that had worked for other people maybe some of them will work for you. Vit b6, flat lemonade, a couple of spoons of cider vinegar in warm to hot water, gum, lollipops, drinking through a straw (that one actually helped me stay hydrated on days when it wasn't as bad) and the usual ones like peppermint or ginger tea ice blocks or the sea sick bands.t I hope something works for you I found the ice blocks were great for my DS but I only had ms for 14 weeks with him so it wasn't as bad. Just try everything and what doesn't work one day may work another day it just seems to be trail and error. Good luck

My GP recommended Restavit as well. That with a B6 tablet. I think she mentioned to me that it's what helped her with her MS.

    Other than that...
A salty cracker 5-10minutes before I get out of bed helped. (I never leave without a baggie of jatz - on the bus I sit and nibble on them)
Frozen raspberry/coke was one of the few 'fluids' I could keep down (and kept me out of hospital for dehydration).
Plain rice with mixed veggies was something else I could stomach.
Barley sugars or sour drops helped when I was trying to find something 'substantial' to eat.
Everything else just made me sick...

I found ginger (the ginger bears, tea, ale, tablets) made me feel sick, as did stemetil (an antinausea med I have used in the past - Cat C though so it was recommended when I wasn't keeping fluids down).

I am still a little nauseated now (I'm at 10 weeks now) but the vomiting has drastically reduced...

Digging up this old thread because I am desperate. A day at work feels like an eternity because I just feel so nauseas. I'm sick of feeling sick. I was hoping to enjoy this pregnancy, but instead I am loathing it because i feel so unwell all day

Anyone have anything else to add?

I had trouble finding something that worked, my cousin suggested berocca... I would put 2 berocca in a Pump brand water bottle with icy cold water, and drink it as early as possible after I woke, I would finish the bottle within an hour. It has b vitamins which are supposed to help with MS. It is a good idea to check with your dr before having berocca, I think their package recommends not using in pregnancy, which my dr said is just a precaution that they take, your body will pass any excess b vitamins out anyway, it will make you have fluoro yellow/orange wee :P hope you get some relief, it is terrible. I wish I had a dollar for every time I complained about it and wished that I could just enjoy my pregnancy.

Some good suggestions. Might have to try them I think. Not sure how berrocca would sit in my tummy though...

Joeve, you poor thing. I was thinking about buying some of those fruit pastel things instead of gum.

I've been feeling sea sick for over a week now, worse in the mornings but throughout the day and night as well. I am coping by eating whenever I start to feel the slightest bit hungry, because if I wait it's all over! Frosty fruits and frozen fruit pieces are really soothing for me, any cold juicy fruit in general. I've been freezing my water bottles too. I have found that I can usually breathe through and fight the urge to actually throw up but it's still seriously unpleasant! I'm liking quite carby, bland foods, eating a lot of bread and just discovered how much this baby likes vegemite!

Anything that'll make you burp! I found that if I could burp the m/s subsided. Oh and eating regularly.

sleep as much as possible, seriously. the more I slept, the less nauseous I was during waking hours.

that's the only thing I can think to add to earlier posts.

    all the very best.

and letting yourself to vomit, there was often an amount of relief afterwards, rather than trying on and on and on to *not* vom.

I have found premiums (the original salty cracker things) for when I need salty food and lattice biscuits when I need sweet! Both dry but yummy.

Also fruit like white nectarines and yellow peaches have helped!! Vegemite toast but not on white bread cause that makes me bloat more and feel sicker so have been having it on flaxseed and quinoa bread (helgas) and so far so good. I have been wanting COLD stuff too!! Like frosty fruit icy poles, putting ice in all my drinks, drinking iced water when usually I hate cold water! Anything cold!!

Ginger is FERAL so I can't have anything remotely ginger tasting!! Shudder...

I have been taking blackmores morning sickness tablets tho (with a massive mouthful of juice so I dont taste the ginger lol) and they seem to be really helping as long as I take one every 8ish hrs! I forgot yesterday and felt the sickest since getting gastro last weekend!!

Its trial and error with MS!! Just keep trying everything until something works!!

Managed to get down some vegemite toast this morning. The saltiness helped I think. Can't do any herbal tea's because i hate them. I don't like ginger either. But Gingernut cookies I can do, but I don't feel at all like any sweet foods Feeling a bit better today though. I will keep trying all the different remedies.

    Thanks for the suggestions!
