I had a very daft moment indeed this evening

I flooded the house

we have an old washing machine (for DH work clothes) and I have to fill it using the hose and tap, and then turn it off when it reaches the top. But of course I forgot. I left it on for about 2 hours. I was only in another room but didn't hear it as the tv was on. It flooded the laundry room, all down the hall into our bedroom (an inch of water all the way around!), and and has wet a bit of the carpet in 2 other bedrooms. Luckily they are the only 2 with carpet. I'm so stupid!! I can't believe how much water escaped! I had to sweep the water out of the bedroom and hall and into the plug hole on the bathroom floor, then put 8 towels down to mop up the rest. boooo
