Hmm well I have had quite a few comments, BUT they are all from supportive people (mum, work colleagues, friends etc) so I know they aren't being critical - they are genuinely really surprised!!

But the crazy thing is (which I point out to them) is that I am *not* that big! I was measuring 19 weeks at 18 weeks, for example, when my MW measured.

Mum said last night (hadn't seen me for 2 weeks while on hols) WOW you look 9 months! I said 'no, I look 5 months. Becuase I am 5 months '

I pointed out to her how big she was at 9 months with my sister - I said, 'you just forget how big it is in the end!' which she agreed with...

I find it SO annoying and rude also, although I seem to get an odd mixture of comments. I'll have some people say, "Oh, I didn't even realise you were pregnant, you're so small!" and then others say, "Wow, you've gotten so big!". Not sure which is worse. You'd think people would have the decency to just keep their ridiculous comments to themselves.

I always had the girls at work commenting on whether they thought I was big or small, but usually I didn't mind cos none of them had had kids and I think they were just genuinely fascinated at how it all worked.

But the other week DF dragged me (literally) in front of a webcam he was having with his parents (they live in the UK) because he wanted to show them my bump, they hadn't seen any pictures of it at that stage. I was pretty unwilling and a bit annoyed at him for forcing me, I had just gotten out of the shower, had a towel wrapped around my head and wasn't wearing a bra! I REALLY didn't want to face the in-laws, even over a webcam. But he was insistent, so I succumbed. He then got me to stand side-on and held the webcam close to my belly, so close that you couldn't really see my shape at all! MIL then started exclaiming at how big I was, and asking me if I was sure it wasn't twins. She was joking, of course, and I kind of laughed along and said, "No, I'm pretty sure they would have told us if it was twins by now!" It's so stupid because like I said, DF had held the camera too close to me, they couldn't really tell how big I was, and I know I'm not that big! I guess it's cos it was the first time they were seeing me pregnant, but still. I did feel slightly hurt by it, even though I'm pg, having someone comment on how huge you've gotten makes you feel pretty self-conscious. GRRRR.

I wish people would comment on how big I am, I'm so disappointed I don't have a "proper" bump yet...

At my antenatal class on Tuesday, there was only one other girl due before me, but I had the tiniest bump in the room! Before we introduced ourselves and said our due dates, etc., I was wondering if maybe I'd joined the class to early since everyone else looked so much further ahead of me I was so surprised to hear that one of them was due in June - she looked like she was almost ready to pop.

I know it depends on shape, movement, etc., but I'm so sad that people still can't tell I'm pregnant and not just fat. All the "bump" photos I have of myself were kinda helped along a little by me pushing my tummy out and taking the photos from certain angles. I just want a normal round bump, not to look like I've shoved a pillow up my shirt.

    1) "your just jealous 'cus my beer belly kicks back"
    2) if you think i'm big now - wait till you see me after i've eaten!
    3) yep, im loud, and proud and gettin' round. but growing a human will do that to you
    4) not sure how many, the aliens didnt tell me that before they took off again.
    5) at least i know WHEN i'll drop alot of the weight. sadly you dont.
    6) pregnancy makes you glow, jealousy only turns you green.

dont worry about 'em. i was "huge" but never felt it. and i looked at it this way - they have all the more of me to admire

    I LOVE #6

I hope you ladies don't mind, but i am taking notes for when i get peg
I am only 5"4 (just with a pony tail lol) so i think i will look really funny with a full term bump

I have to say though, thanks to BB i know what topics/comments steer clear of when talking to my pg friends

oh i think a good one when they say oh your huge is, well i only have x weeks to go, how about you? When are you due? And stare blankly at them.
