    Hi Green,

I used cabbage to take off the heat and swelling off the boobs.

    Hi girls,

Working from home today. Boss so good to let me work from home... but kind of make me want to do more work to make up for his kindness.

Kelly, Tara will surely be crawling very soon.

    Murph, wow big move.

    Hi everyone else.

AFU we are doing well though I wish Lyla would be a bit more interested in food but no matter as long as she is happy and healthy. I think I've got a climber on our hands. Lyla has started climbing onto things now. She climbed onto our bed the other morning using the pile of pillows I left at the foot of the bed. Got DH to quickly tape it. I was so scared that she would fall but the girl used ever mean to get up onto the bed.

Take care everyone. Must make effort to reply because it appears that when I find the time to reply others have beat me to it.. I do enjoy reading your posts though.

glad you got some rite ansewrs green hunny, i always thought why would you keep exspressing if your trying to dry up milk ?? as this would just keep the milk building up lol..any way after 5 kids this is what i was always told .so im glad you rang someone hun,and yes cabbage leaves are also a really good thing to take away the heat ,they really do work to your boobies will be very sore for a few days hun trust me even under your arms it will feel very sore but they will start to feel better each day
    luv to you hun

hun ive just thought of another trick that makes boobies feel better might sound silly but DOES work hun
if you have a couple of face washers seriously put them in the freezer layed out stright till they freeze then put them inside your bra to make boobies feel better thats what they told me to do at hossy
and if i remember you can actually go to the dr to get drying up tablets too
if the pain gets to bad take a couple of panadole too hunny

Green, keep an eye out for lumps if you're not going to express at all, because mastitis is a killer. If you get a hot, red lump and/or flu symptoms, then get yourself to a doctor.
If you're concerned about soy formula, the other option is the neocate-type prescription formulas which are completely broken down to base enzymes (or...er..something like that) and are suitable for babies with allergies (without dodgy hormones in soy)

marcellus I'll talk to my pead about it cos he doesn't seam to think soy is an issue but it's my choice isn't it.

No red lumps and boobs are less hard and hot. But Dolly parton alert.

Last night Linc was so good 7.20pm till midnight. I slept 8.30 till midnight. then 1-4pm then 5-6 then 7-8. What is this feeling ENERGY

But he's blocked up and I don't know what to do. Smithy what worked for Charlie?

I've done the sugar water since 6pm feed yesterday and deap bath and massage, but no shift, loads of pushing and I know it's getting to him.

DH is on his way home. Can't wait for cuddles.

Oh linc is now not enjoying sleep during the day. He wakes up after a cat nap has a play another cat nap etc from 8-4pm feed last two days. But I guess this is the right time for fussy sleep isn't it.

    Hey Green

Always the way, you get one thing sorted and then something else. Hopefully Smithy can help you out on the poo issue, seems his little body is trying to adjust to the formula.

As for the cat naps during the day, they always seem to go through cycles but you need to now remember he is sleeping longer at night for you... meaning he doesn't want to sleep as much during the day and at certain times he will sleep less as well.. 5-6 weeks of age is the first "Wonder Week" when he is starting to get his sight in so he is probably going to be awake more during the day as this is when his senses are stimulated most.

Good news on the Booby "front" , but keep a look out for any signs of not good things.

Kahlan: Good to see you drop in.. eekkk a climbing baby already...move everything to the top shelf, go do it now. And thanks for the heads up about Tara crawling, just my luck a baby who wants to be on the move too soon. Isn't it funny we always can't wait for the next thing to happen and when it does we are not prepared for it, but seriously these babies who want to do things before they are supposed to (Lyla & Tara) haven't they read the books

    Hi to everyone else...

Could Tara being growing again??? What with all this sleeping at night (about 13 hours) she is now pretty much only awake during the day to eat and then is back to sleep. So far today she has been awake for about 2 1/2 hours total since waking at 10am. Or maybe she is sleepy from having a full tummy as I give her solids at both her breakfast & lunch meal along with a bottle. Or maybe she is just an afternoon awake baby as she seems to be awake from about 4pm in the afternoon until her bedtime now around 8-8.30pm. Not that I'm complaining at all, I suppose I should take my own advise "it is a cycle she is going through".

Green just wanted to let you know what we are doing and have done in the past.

Raise the end of the bed and change table.
Sleep on tummy with legs tucked under. (I know totally bad, I try and do it only during the day when I am awake but sometimes it is the only way he will sleep. We also have a motion monitor, so no movement all the bells and whistles start.)
Infants friend, you get it from the chemist and boy is it working. Was at the shop yesterday and his farts we so loud people were looking sideways at me. But before this all that wind was trapped in his bowels.
Chiropractor, when are paying off our chiros morgage this is how highly I recomend it. Xavier was all jammed up in his intestine area and his bowels hopefully the adjustment will help releive some of the pain.
As for the soy if this is a permanant thing, like Campbell. He will have to encounter soy as he gets older. We have sourced soy alternative for lots of things, like icecream and yogurt. It becomes a life style thing. I do get some funny looks when I order a soy babychino.
Oh when Campbell was on formula I always added an extra 10 mls of water then recomended to help stop him from getting blocked up.
Hope this helps, but what I always say to new mums and I did this with Campbell was listern to the advice and then do what works for you.

Hope everyone is doing well, I am a bit tired today got one boy back to be at 6 only to have the other one wake up at 6.30.

    Hi Green,

Great to hear you are getting more sleep. About Linc having problems with his bowel movements. How long has last done it? Formula can really change a baby's habits. Formula fed babies could go for days without passing anything. Lyla is formula fed and don't normally pass anything for 3-4 days without being constipated at all. However, if Linc is having problems, first thing you must try is water and lots of it. Give him 10-20 mls every hour or. Good luck. You are doing a wonderful job by the way.

BW - how is Sam? How are you holding up? I was very heart broken when I first returned to work but it gets easier each day and I always look forward to seeing my LO at the end of work.

Kelly, yes, I wasn't prepared to buy walking shoes for Lyla until she is over 12 months but had to order proper shoes the other day. She found it strange with the shoes and prefers to sit, pull her feet to her face and mouth the shoes instead but is loving every chance she gets to practice walking and climbing though. I believe Tara would probably be the same because she is doing what Lyla was at the age. so be prepared my dear friend. I see in your sig that you are planning for #2 in Jan 2011. We are planning that for late 2010 or early 2011 so never no we might be having our second one at the same time and be belly buddies.

BG - how is Miss E, any new words or should I ask whether she is giving you sentences? Lyla clapped her hands today... I think. I picked her up from Family Day Care and she suddenly clapped her hands. She doesn't do it on command though so can't say that she understood "clap your hands".

Murph - I know Queensland is under flood at present, are you affected by it in anyway. Thinking of you anyway.

Grub - how are you doing? Ash's is so cool

Saph - take care of yourself hun.

To everyone else, hope you have a peaceful and relaxing weekend.
