    mmmm.......

Janie: Tara already sleeps in a sleeping bag as she will do 360's in her cot at night so any type of sheets or doona for her are a no go... You would think the sleeping bag would restrict her movements but not my little bunny...

Saph: all I can think of would be to maybe put Xaviers bassinet into the cot to get him used to the different surroundings and then once comfortable take out the bassinet and try him in the cot that way. Just a thought, we didn't have any trouble going into the cot (admittedly it was at 6 weeks) as Tara is a very active sleeper who moves everywhere and the cot gave her more room.

    hi Saph,
we didn't have any real trouble either as ash was only 8 weeks old. But I put a muslin wrap on the open side of the cot (there's walls on 2 sides and his chest of drawers at one end) so that he didn't feel like he was out in the open/get scared of the big space after such a confined space int he bassinette.
He eventually pulled the muslin down and i've now cut it up and he uses it as a sooky/comfort rag when he goes to sleep now. he plays with it in his hands... so it worked out really well!
but what Kelly said i think is the usual recommendation

    Hi girls,

    I have really MIA.

    Any just a quick post.

Now a question for our more experienced mummies... Tara has now become a child who seems to persist in rolling onto her tummy for her day sleeps. Seems good in theory as she can turn her head but she still doesn't know how to roll back onto her back and therefore she wakes herself up when she wants to change position. We try and put things in to block her from rolling onto her tummy but she can do it in the one spot so that doesn't help, and we generally end up in a rolling game that can take anything up to 40 minutes for her to fall asleep on her back or side. Any thoughts or ideas what I can do?? At night she is no problem and falls asleep on her back it is just the day sleeps that are the issue.
Kelly, there is no real solution. Lyla eventually learn to sleep while she rolls about, then after a fews minutes once she is asleep I go in and turn her onto her back.... still doing it at present.

Need some help, how did you transition from the bassenette to the cot. Have been trying to get Xavier to sleeep in his cot but he just will not sleep in it. He will cry and scream and then I put him in his basenette and he will go striaght to sleep. If he does amange to sleep in there it is only for half and hour. Campbell had no trouble moving.

Hope everyone had a lovely mothers day.
Saph, I transitioned Lyla into the cot at 3 months by first of all letting her get use to her cot, ie play in her cot for short periods of time during the day. Then I get her to sleep 1 or two day sleep in her cot. eventually, she goes into her cot full time.

Hi everyone else, even though I don't post much (no time) I do still read and think of you all.

AFU, Lyla has now become more interested in solid. She has become extremely social, kissing me on demand and does interactive play with mum. She dances and sing to well known songs... although the singing bit is more of yelping and babbling with very high pitch prolonged sounds. As I always clap my hands when she is good girl or does something amazing, she would clap her hands every time to praise her. God I love the 10 month mark. They really know what you are saying and they respond. Funny thing she only listens to me when I say no. DH tried it and she still touches things against his wish. Guess I am the one who will be doing the disciplining around here. I have always thought DH would be the one doing the discipline as I am such a softy. How have your experiences been? Are you the disciplining parent or your DH?

Grub Linc seams to wet more when he's growing???? I had two last night too

Janie oh so cute on the holding hands with mummy

Saph, I put a rolled up blanket about 30cm above his head just to make the cot feel smaller, but I put him in the bassinett in the cot for a week. Hope that helps.

Kahlan so glad to hear you and Lyla are well so cute, can't wait for mummy kisses

ATM WORK I got NOTHING! I need to go back full time or not at all (full time is 4 days a week) And I "may" be able to use my annual leave to stay home an extra day but only for a month

Yesterday was awful, Linc was screaming when I picked him up from child care and they didn't ring me. I said "if you think he's hungry FEED HIM!!!" I guess they will now. So another hour visit Thurs then a half day trial Tues, if this doesn't work I don't know what to do.

DH said he's quit work but we can't afford it really, oh I never ever thought I would be so cut up by child care. I do want to go back to work I miss it but I want my baby to be happy with care.

Also linc had a horid night 2 wet throughs one chuck and he screamed every 10 mins for two hours after I fed him both night feeds! at 4.30am I pulled him into my bed for him to wiggle and squirm and grunt then a huge poo, He's in his cot doing the same thing right now, ahhhhhhhh I need more sleep. working tonight till 9pm!

Green. That sucks. No chance of delaying your return at all? It will be a big adjustment for both of you - no doubt DS would rather be with you, but I"m sure he'll be fine. Are you comfortable with the daycare place?
DS was always very unsettled and didn't sleep well after daycare days. It's better now he's happy there. I hope it works out for you too.

Hi Kahlan! Discipline... hmmm... DS is pretty good now with reasoning and following directions. It was hard when he was younger as even though he fullyunderstood no, he just couldn't stop himself. Better go, he's playing with the toilet again...

I just wanted to jump on to see my signature ticker... My baby is now 7 months old (plus 1 day). Can someone please tell me why time flys by so fast, it seems like just yesterday she was a little teeny tiny bubba.

I swear she couldn't be more than 2-3 months Kelly!

Ok. I've been sitting on this news for a while. Working up to going public and figured I'd tell you guys first.
I'm not sure whether I mentioned it before, but we did a FET a few months back - got BFP on April Fool's Day and I'm now about 10 weeks.
I was so very sure that the cycle hadn't worked and it's taken a while to accept it. Had some bleeding early on, but we saw a heartbeat at our 7-wk scan and so far as I know all is still ok. Was an HRT cycle, so on the pills and pessaries - just now starting the reduction schedule
    Anyway, that's me

Marcellus!!!!!!! WOW - What awesome news. Congratulations honey - I'm over the moon for you. Jazzy was an HRT FET also - so I understand those horrid pills/pessaries.

And Kelly - I can't believe Miss Tara is 7 months already! That time has flown by... before you know it she will be 1!

YAY Marcellus... So excited for you and for A going to be a big brother. If you don't mind my asking was it your first FET cycle ie: successful thaw?? and how long was your snowbub on ice for?? and was it a day 3 or day 5?? Just curious as I'll be going through an FET soon and I will also be doing a HRT cycle. I took 3 FET's to get Tara (6 day 3 embryo's in total) and I'm hoping that of the 8 remaining we get another precious baby. I have 3 day 3's and 5 day 5's on ice and don't know which ones to use first, they have been on ice since July last year so hoping that we get a good thaw rate as well.

    thanks!
We had 4 d3 and 2d5 on ice and they recommended thawing the 4 d3's and maturing them to blasts - 1 made it and was transferred. I guess they'd been on ice for roughly 2 yrs 9 months.

Marcellus, that is wonderful news. I am so green with envy. We are going to try for #2 early next year so I really hope it would bring success. We have 4 day 5 frosties.

Green, going back to work is really hard. Hope everything goes well for you.

Hi everyone else. Sorry don't often get time to write much. Thinking of you all though.

Oh one question, Lyla loves passionfruit. She even eats the seedy part but of course she can't chew them so they get swallowed as they are. Wonder if that is o.k for her digestive system.

OMG Marcellus so so so happy for you and your family all things crossed all good for the next 7ish months really great news.

    Hay smithy Miss ya

    Hi to all

ATM doing another night shift with no clients, so I'm getting a bit of me time and really enjoying it esp being paid!

Just when I almost totally lost the plot my mums neibour and good friend is having Lincoln Mondays and Thursdays if needed for at least two months seams my wer answered, I'll pay her even if she says no but that means I can spend more time with Linc in child care before he is ther for good and 6 months sounds so much better. fro ear to ear today.

Still feeling sick about work and not happy about my manager who has been MIA for almost a year and is being a bossy B***h already! but it seams the majority understand my pain and it'll be ok. Only 2 weeks to go now, I'm really enjoying all those little moments with Linc at the moment I wish it didn't have to end but I'm sure my days off will be so special.

Linc has his first cold and has been sleeping badly but I feel so sad for him as I know it must be awful with a bloked nose, loads of steam and cuddles.

    Hi All

Just wanted to drop in and let you all know that after a very unsettled weekend (when I thought Tara was getting a cold) we now have 1 tooth that has broken through. Found out by chance this morning when my little finger copped a good old munch.

Hope you are all doing well and that your little ones are also growing heaps.

Marcellus: Huuuge CONGRATS!!!!! Wishing you a H & H preg! Will you be finding out what you're having?

Must be something in the water over on the LTTTC threads, they have had a stack of this month!

Call me crazy but I so can't wait to go down that path again! Despite the dramas at the end I really loved being pg. Hopefully we will be financially blessed in the next 12 months so we don't have to wait so long, I'm up for an EPU cycle straight away as we had no frosties left.

Well I hope everyone's good and loving the cooler weather! We are all good. Last two nights we have had a 7hr and a 5hr sleep! I am soooo hoping DS keeps it up and isn't just teasing me. Mind you, I didn't sleep well, I was laying awake thinking he was going to wake up any moment! Would be nice if I could get used to it though!

Still not having much luck moving DS into his cot. He just won't sleep for more than 10/20mins in it. We're going to move it into our room for the winter, my thoughts were it's easier to keep 1 room warm than 2. So hopefully still being near us might do the trick???

Can't believe my little precious is 2 months old tomorrow! Where has the time gone? As of last week the little chubba chops has put on 2.2kg!

Ahhhh must run, his royal highness is hollering. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

BOC - I too am having trouble gertting Xavier into his cot. I want him out of our room so I dont have to listen to him grunting throughout the night. He is almost sleeping through but he makes so much noise in the couple of hours before 6 that I am awake waiting for him to wake up.

Just a quick question and I should know this but I just cant remember but when did you stop doing a dream feed and just feed them before you put them to bed. I cant remember when I did this with Campbell.

    Hope everyone is doing well.

OMG Marcellus! that is so exciting!!! congratualtions love. i'm so happy for you. and lol on the edit - i knew who you meant!. he can come play wiht our loo, it's always playing up - he might fix it! hahah

Saph - great question. i was wondering the same thing. I tried to ditch it the other night with disasterous affects!

boc - lol - i know it's like they lure you into a sense of security and then BHAM turn around and get you! lol. I know exactly what you mean about bub sleeping and you not! they train us sooo well hahah. Also feeling like i can't wait for ttc again! insane! we are all nuts for being clucky after all we've been through! hahaha.

yaya for the tooth Kelly! and I can't believe she's that old! it is going too fast. that's part of the reason why we aren't jumping in straightaway for number 2 - to enjoy number 1 because it's going soo quick! our boy is 5 months old!!!

green - fantastic news on the neighbour! and don't look at it as not being there with linc, you are being a wonderful mother by going out into the workforce to support your family financially as well as emotionally and doing all the other things that always seem to fall to women! i'm in awe of you love. it takes immense strength but you aren't damaging your baby or your bond by working! I saw on the news the other day that there are more working mums than ever!

hahah Kahlan - i just had this image of baby poo with passion fruit pips. can't help you though but i really wouldn't think it'd be bad for bub, so long as there isn't too much of it.

    hi janie! how's bubba?

and Smithy - hope you get on top of the money situation soon love. hate being broke!

as for us - been away again. went to the nation's capital to give bubba soem long car-trip experience. he was a dream and slept the whole way! But unfortunately came home with 2 sick boys. They have the snuffles but the vapourizer is working wonders for Ashton! He's also getting a tooth! it's broken through and explains the very red and sore looking cheeks.

but our little routine is working a treat (sshhh can't say it too loud or he'll hear and play up!). it even worked while we were away! and he slept happily in the portacot.

on the more baby chat - i'm ssssooo clucky it's bad. I want heaps of kids and know that we'd be lucky to get another. but i've realised over the past few days that i NEED another baby! i'd always said we'd be happy with one, but i don't feel that anymore!

on a sad front, my sister had to do ivf but also genetic testing for a disorder my bil is a carrier for. anyway they had to travel to brissy and have the testing at a cost of thousands on top of ivf/icsi... did the whole shebang got 4 blasties only to have to destroy them all because all had the disorder (which means they would not have survived past about 15 weeks into the pregnancy). I'm so sad for them, they were shattered. I'm sad for my paretns that Ash maybe their only grandchild and sad for ash that he may be the 'only' child in every possible way, not even cousins!

anyhoo best go and wash my hair while bub is sleeping. hugs to all my loverlies. ox
