Well looks like I'm first to post here so what better news to start a new thread with except...
ITS A BOY!!
Sorry Sal you were wrong (is that a first??), guess I was too though!!
We are absolutely over the moon, had to go out and buy something blue!! Everything is looking good - measuring 21 weeks although I'm still sticking with my original dates. Have to go back for another scan as placenta was close to or over my cervix but she thinks that will left up as the baby gets bigger.
OMG Congratulations Amy! We're having a lovely run of boys in this thread! Now go spend spend spend on beautiful blue things! Can't wait to see the photos!
My workmates did the 'ring on a string' thing over my belly yesterday and reckon the little'un is definitely a girl. They're starting a book and wanted an unfair advantage on what to bet on! Lol!
AMY :happy4u: Yay! on it being a boy! I'm very happy to be wrong, especially when you're thrilled on it being a boy. It's amazing how, once you know the sex, all the clothes for that sex just seem so much cuter than for the other sex IYKWIM. As for being wrong, actually it has happened once or twice before O
I'm in the same position as you re low placenta and needing another scan. In the 18w scan I was asked if I had experienced bleeding (no) as it appeared that the placenta was covering the oss (?? techy name for top of cervix I presume). I was told it was very likely that a later scan would show that all is OK. Yay for us, we both get an excuse for another scan!!
Sush, I have girl vibes from you, too (not that I'm too confident in my vibes lately...)
Thanks Guys - I suppose that was the cool thing we were always going to be over the moon either way!! Just went to interior designers and picked up fabric samples for nursery. Think I'm going to do kind of a contemporary nursery, that is using normal fabrics not child specific ones. I'm rather excited!! hehe.
Sal - when will they scan you again to look at the placenta?? Yep rather happy to get another look in on bubby. Yep I have to say the boys clothes you can get these days are so cute, I can't wait.
My mum just left for a few days in Sydney, so watch out shops - she is a major shopaholic and now she has a baby boy to shop for - Watch out Sydney.
Sush - not long till you next scan - are you finding out the flavour?? Could do with some girls to even up the tally in here!!
I always thought I'd like it to remain a surprise but am getting excited now about finding out. Though another 6 weeks seems like aaaages away!
Sal, I always thought it would be a boy, from the day I found out about the BFP, but am now not sure. I reckon I'm happy to trust your vibes! Like Amy said, would be nice to have a few more girl bubs in here!
Amy - How exciting he's a BLUE bubba! Thats very exciting news... Cant wait to see how your nursery plans turn out. Must be exciting now you can start getting that sort of thing done, with knowing your having a beautiful boy \/
Sush - a girl, hey? Well I have to say I would be inclined to think the same, but if the trend in here is anything to go by... odds say it will be a boy.... :-k But Im sure Ariani would be happy to have the situation a little more evened out!
Tiff - Wow! Christmas is going to be a busy time for you this year! Yaye!!
Sal - am sure your next scan will show all is good too. I have a friend with the same thing and all is looking well for her too. Her ob said is actually pretty common and very rarely doesnt correct itself - Cant believe the amount of blue in here!
Gee, with Tiff having her bubbies on 27 December, and Tam's bubs surely due about then too, it's going to be very exciting (and lots of bubs!).
Amy, on the 18w u/s the doc wrote that he recommends a repeat scan around 28-32w, so not really sure. As I've moved and changed hospitals etc I have to wave the report in front of some doc's nose so that it gets noticed. I'd be plumping to have an earlier rather than later scan, especially after what happened with Carrie...from what I've read on the net, if the placenta is really covering the cervix, then from 28w on it can get dangerous as that is when the uterus starts to stretch upwards heaps. I'm personally not worried at all, I haven't had even the slightest hint of spotting since my LMP way back in April.
Hey, I hope you'll put up piccies of your nursery as it gets done! And Gab, too - is yours getting there yet?
Is there anyone in here who is going for the surprise factor re flavour of bubs?
Sal me too, re the low lying placenta and I have been told the same, another scan at about 28-32 weeks. They think all will be fine, that the placenta will lift, but I guess we will see.
