Yeah I second what YogiBear said...... LM, how's things going? One of my sisters was telling me that she was about a week early for all three of her babies, so I'm hoping that I'm going to buck the trend of first babies being late and follow in big sis's footsteps as I do NOT want a Christmas baby!!
Leabie, I'm currently thinking that when the time comes for me to decide on pain relief, I'll hopefully only ask for some gas - at least then I can feel when I need to push rather than the epidural where you lose sensation and get told when to push. But who knows, when push comes to shove I might cave and ask for every drug they've got!!
WantBaby#2, sorry that DH isn't coming around. I agree with LM, see if DH can take bub out to the in-laws... but then again maybe on the day you'll want to show off bub and will be okay with them ducking into the room for a quick visit with grandchild.
Re bras, I've only grown a few centimetres and appear to still be fitting into my existing bras. As mine don't hurt I'm still in underwires, although as my boobs are now touching my belly the underwire is starting to rub a bit on the top of my belly. My belly starts to pop from right under my BBs, I think everyone's belly kind of sits differently (as What to Expect informs me!) at this early stage.
Still haven't felt bub move yet, although last Friday I had a kind of gurgle thing happen and I coudn't put my finger on what it was, so possibly that might have been baby, possibly wind - ha ha!
Brunette, how are you going with double trouble, any movement yet?
So, Planning & Management Fee - it's due soon, it's $1900. A friend is only being charged $1200 and a friend of hers is paying $3000 apparently!! Is this not a set fee?
I grabbed a Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe on Ebay today, around $10, then after winning the auction realised it was light blue. bugger. I guess it doesn't matter too much, they're only sleeping in it. (unless of course I end up having a boy then it's all good!). Hmmm, may be spending too much time on Ebay lately.... gotta go, Ebay item ending soon!!!

sorry - still here! Had a superb induction massage earlier and had two or three contractions (I think) and then it's all bloody stopped GRRRRRR. My arse was like a pin cushion with needles in it, and the massage was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. She said that starting the contractions is no more difficult than "open your mind and your @@@@@ will follow"
CK77- The management fee varies depending on doc. Basically you're paying their insurance indemnity- so the more the fee- the higher their insurance premiums (and usually the more claims have been made against them). I'm not saying that docs with higher fees are rubbish- claims can be made for a variety of reasons- not always doctor malpractice. $1900 is pretty good, that's what mine is. I've heard of docs charging up to 5K for theirs.
Hi ladies, just thought I would drop in and introduce myself. I have been ttc #3 for 2 years and did a test yesterday and there was a very faint line - repeated today and there is a definate +ve!!!!
Yesterday I was panicking about the whole thing, today I am excited thinking finally this is really happening after all this time. Will make Drs appointment for this week. Am due in March.

What's new with me is that I had my nuchal scan last week and all, thankfully, was well. It's amazing how well developed they are already even so early along, and it's amazing how clear the scan is. The sonographer put it on 4D so I even got to see baby wriggling around for a while. I didn't realize that they do 4D at the early scans, so that was a nice surprise. Also, I finally get to meet my OB tomorrow. I hope I like him!
Chrissy, I thought I hadn't had any movement yet but on another thread a lady who has already had one child said for your first it's normally not until 18 weeks that you feel movement. That said, she said it's easy to mistake movement for wind (hee hee), a pulse or little bubbles. I have had all of these so maybe movement? My DP reckons he felt a kick the other day - wants me to tell my mum that he felt the first kick, but I think he's just trying to wind me up! No, the OB fee varies depending on the doctor. I didn't know it depended on claims and indemnity insurance (thanks GlennyC). My OB fee is $1600. I have read of others being $3000. It sucks because it used to be covered by Medicare and you could claim 80% of your out-of-pocket if you had reached the extended Medicare Safety Net, but thanks to Rudd he capped the fee and you can only get a little over $400 back! Sucks. Ebay sounds like fun. I had a friend visit today who refers to herself as Queen Ebay. She told me how many bargains there were to be had on Ebay. I must have a look at it soon.
AFM, I had a remedial massage today. It was great. My therapist recommends mandarin essential oil for minimising/preventing stretch marks. Must get me some of that. It smelt so nice.
KitKat, great news on your nuchal scan results. It is amazing to see how much the bub has developed in such a short time, isn't it? Hope you like your OB! Did you find out your baby's gender at your scan? If not, are you planning to at your morph scan?

Ah, Brunette, I did not realize they could tell the gender that early! And funny, I was wondering about that since the images were so clear -- but for some dumb reason I didn't ask (I guess b/c I was under the impression it was too early), and I believe the radiology place's policy is not to mention it even if they see something unless you ask. Drats -- because while I know that a lot of people want it to be a surprise, my DH and I actually do want to find out. I guess now I'll have to wait another 6 weeks until the morph scan! Oh well . . .
PS. And funnily, after I e-mailed one of the 4D videos to my mom, she asked, "Did they tell you it's a boy? Because it looks like a boy . . ." and I told her it was too early, so she said she must have been confusing the umbilical cord for the boy bits. Funny, b/c I saw some things that I thought were boy bits too, but assumed they couldn't be that visible that early! Now I'm wondering!
Brunette - I can not sleep either, the other night i woke at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep got up at 6 and had to go to work!! Don't know what is going on.

I have been MIA for a while, but I have a good excuse….. I was off having a baby!!!
Casey James was born on Sunday 11 July at 8.06pm, weighing 2.57kg (5lbs, 11oz), 49.5cm.
It has taken me a while to get on and post as things have been so hectic this first week or so. My elective c-section was originally booked for 19 July, but I started bleeding on 11 July (one week early). Due to my placenta praevia, we called the hospital who said I needed to come straight in. So we did, and were subsequently told we were going to be having the baby that night (emergency c-section). Casey was born just after 8pm, but apparently the doctors had difficulty getting my bleeding under control and I ended up losing 2 litres of blood. Casey was sent straight to the Special Care Nursery because he was so little, and I spent the night in Intensive Care. I didn’t actually end up seeing him for the first time until about 7 hours after he was born.
I spent the whole week in hospital and had to have 2 blood transfusions to try and make up for all the blood I lost during the c-section. Needless to say, it’s been a tough time since Casey was born. DH and I absolutely love him to bits though, and are very happy, albeit struggling a bit with the lack of sleep right now.
Well I’m just about to feed the little one so I’d better head off. Good luck to LondonMiss and WantBaby. I hope everything goes well for you both and your upcoming births. And good luck to all the other fantastic ladies in here. I wish you all the best for your pregnancies.
