Oooh I get the same - at 8 weeks, a taxi driver thought I was 6 mths pg! And I still get people acting surprised that i"m "only" 4.5 months. I must admit, I've found a capsule of metamucil really helps me, and I know it's safe... but you said you didn't want to take that... but that's what works for me. And to be honest, I think the rest of it is just me being very prone to bloating. By the end of each day, I just look waaaay more PG than I did in the morning - at least it's handy on the train haha! Got offered a seat tonight YAY.

I read that bloating is very normal in first trimester, and I have found mine has settled a bit (but certainly hasn't disappeared) in second trimester. Apparently your digestion transit times do slow throughout PG which can result in the increased gas/bloating. In my case, I have a digestive condition that I think plays a part... and I imagine things like IBS and Coeliacs would be similar, but i've also heard of others without any of those conditions who found they bloated throughout as well.
Good luck!
