    Question Baby weight?

Hi everyone i was just wondering how much weight on average will the baby put on in the last 8 weeks?

I went for a scan yesterday and was told baby weighs about 2kg, now my DD weight 3.5kg at birth born at 39 weeks is 8 weeks enought time to put on the extra weight i'm worried s/he might be a little small... even though measurments are all fine for gestation.

i know it sounds a bit silly but im just a little worried i feel so much bigger this time round and heavier i expected bubs #2 to be larger then my DD was.

i actually think 2kg at 32weeks is a really good size.

My son was 2.2kg at 33weeks which was bigger than they expected. i think they thought he'd be between 1.8 and 2kg so i would say your bub is on track for being a nice healthy size at birth!

a lot of woman are bigger with subsiquent pregnancies so try not to worry about your's and bubs size

hi there, 2kgs is actually really good for your number of weeks. my son was born at 35 weeks and he was 2.5 kgs so i think your little one is right on the mark. i wouldnt be concerned at all.

    Hey Girly Girl,

Not to scare you but with my DD my ultrasound at 36 weeks showed her being about 8 lbs 3 (3.7 kg) and I though yeah ok not too big. 10 days over due she was a whopping 10 lbs 3 (4.67 kg). Hopefully bub number 3 will be a little smaller. Bub 1 was 10 lbs 1 1/2 lol so I'm not holding my breath.

omg nicole_and_dan one word OUCH!!!! i'm cringing just at the thought, hopefully s/he won't get that big my first was 7lb 8 so fingers crossed number 2 won't get much bigger but i spose id rather a big healthy baby then a little fragile one how are you going size wise (tummy) with this one compared to the others?

I dont seem to have put on much weight at all... it seems to depend on what I wear as to whether or not I even look pregnant lol and I havent outgrown my clothes so that is a good sign lol then again I wore most of my ordinary clothes with Chloe (number 2) anyway. Im hoping that things keep going in this direction and I dont pile on too many pounds to sweat off afterwards. Then again I agree I would rather have a big healthy baby than one that looks like it will break after a tight cuddle.

The weight estimate in scans is not always accurate.
My SIL had a scan on one day where everyone DR and specialists said the baby was not more than 4 lbs and they wanted to wait to induce. (She had high blood pressure)
The next day she went into labour on her own and delivered a healthy 6.5 lbs baby girl.

So they guessed wrong and panic (ed) everyone for nothing. I am sure your baby will be fine.
