Yep, Spring is on our door step and that means we've got about 12 weeks until Summer! So now is the time to Spring into action with a 12 week challenge. Nothing too complicated just a commitment to the 12 weeks and doing everything you can to see some weight loss on the scales, cm's lost on the measuring tape or your old clothes being able to fit! However you would like to record your success just let me know and I will update a progress post each. Spring starts on Thursday so that's when the Challenge will start for anyone who would like to join me.
You'll find the list in my weekly update posts

Count me in! I've been losing weight anyway, but this will be a great boost I'm getting close to reaching my first goal of getting to 65kg, but I really want to try and get to 60kg. So like you, I am aiming to lose about 8kg from where I am at the moment.
Woo hoo, thanks for this!
YAY, can't wait!!! Best thing is that we have a few days to mentally prepare for the challenge and sort out our game plan. For me I really need to up my water, I've totally slacked off over the last few months and I can really notice it, I feel dry and dehydrated. I also need to eat better and have become addicted to chocolate that is going to change! I am also going to listen to the gabriel (sp) method hypnotherapy thingo everyday when ds is having his nap. AND I am going to lay down EVERY day when ds is napping and 'rest' listening to that recording and try to have a nap. I'd also like to think that I will count calories, I have a new Samsung Galaxy S II phone and dh put 2 apps on there for calorie counting and one to keep track of water and that is really groovy as it alerts you to remind you to drink, which I totally need right now. I haven't decided which app is better yet but seeing I'm all into playing with my phone at the moment I will probably have the motivation to at least see how I go calorie counting at the moment. I have lost weight before calorie counting, once I lost about 5kg in 12 weeks and another time 8kg's so here's hoping either way I loose weight! As for exercise I will see how I go, just being able to be more active by getting more rest is the 1st step I think
hannanat yes it's 13 weeks 12 weeks will bring us to the 25th of November
I'm going to drink more water too. And I'm also going to start RPM classes tomorrow morning and will be aiming to do that 4 times a week along with weights so that I'll have some muscle to meet my skin when the fat disappears
My DH is already on my case about food (more fish, less red meat etc) because I found out a couple of weeks ago that I have high blood pressure and cholesterol. He does the cooking, so that makes it easier. I have to stop eating at night..that's the killer for me.
I really need to up my water intake too. I'm great during summer, but through winter I tend to forget to drink as much. Need to cut out chocolate too, it is my one great weakness. If I have it in the house I will go through it so quickly so I really just have to stop myself from buying it. Time to start skipping the confectionary isle completely from now in I think.
Cherished, can you tell me more about the hypnosis cd you mentioned? How is it supposed to help with weight loss? I am not familiar with hypnotherapy at all
Holly Molly hannanat I just saw that you have 7 kids no wonder you eat at night it's probably the only time you get to relax and enjoy it? I have figured out that I am eating chocolate biscuts like they are going out of fashion because every time I get 5 mins I sit down with a cup of tea and eat them!! Then when I go shopping I have been buying a chocolate bar to eat in the car on the way home <naughty naughty>
munchkin_mumma which brings me to the chocolate isle, I would skip it but it's conveniently located in the bread isle so that EVERYONE pretty much has to walk past it Years ago when I was a fit, young hot sexy looking single chic I had a rule.... I could have bad food, but I just had to go out of the house and go and get it, that worked well back then.
YAY another candidate to add to my list Cant' wait until Thursday now!!
MM Sorry hun I forgot to tell you about the hypnotherapy thingo. DH go tme a book ages ago called the Gabriel method, it focus is on not starving yourself but rather eating real foods with high nutrient value and asking yourself at every meal 'where is the protein, where is the something living and where is the omega 3' anyway there is a hypnotherapy mp3 file that dh downloaded for me which goes with the book and it's just really good to keep your head in the right space and making sure that your subconscious isn't sabotaging you!

Oh please count me in! I need all the motivation I can get. I have new sneakers, the Zumba dvds and an ipod with a pumped-up playlist. Hopefully its my recipe to drop a dress size by Christmas!!
Sent on the go from my HTC, cos I can't get enough of BB
Nattyfred woohoo another woman Springing into action You will be loving the new you when you arrive in Sunny Brisvegas!
nironotrom (love your username!) you sound like you've got such a great plan, wish I could do Zumba, looks like so much fun and the bods on the adverts are HOT. But my knees won't allow for it Swimming, walking, biking and gym are about it for me.
hannanat You will get there! I think you may need to look at substituting some thing rather than going cold turkey? I was just thinking this morning that I might start just having water in the mornings rather than tea as I load it up with honey and a good dash of regular milk, I could probably do without the tea in the warmer months anyway.... Then I won't be tempted to eat chocolate biscuts with tea throughout the day either!
Sunny YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY I'm in a thread with my fav girl So happy you are on this mission with me MWA!
I am in - 8kg to go. Committing to running(ok so trying to run) min 3 times a week rather than sporadically. Drink more water. Also moving more and no more snacking, finishing leftovers or bad choices.
Nothing changes if nothing changes right???
Count me in! I'd like to lose (at least) 10kg by summer. Have already lost a bit, but having a commitment like this will hopefully help me keep on track!
Ooh ooh, count me in! I actually did really well after DD was born - 1kg below pp weight in a week! But since then I got slack with food, and seriously addicted to sugar. So bad snacks and far too much soft drink. And now I've put on 4 kgs
I've got quite a lot to lose, but seeing as it's 13 weeks away I'll be conservative and aim for 10kgs - any more will be a bonus I've already dropped the soft drink and upped the water (but need more still) and getting rid of most junk food. Exercise is the main problem. I've got Zumba DVDs and work outs downloaded to my phone, but DD is at a stage where she'll sleep on me and nowhere else. She hates the sling, and so I just don't have time to do a proper work out type thing. Walking is going well though, there's a toy hanging above DD in the pram so she'll stay there for a bit lol.
So today, after Rattle & Rhyme, we're going for a bit of a walk around town
