I'm actually in the process of trying to stretch my hair washing out. Everything I've read recently suggests that the longer the hair the longer you should go between washes, because of the fact the natural oils aren't getting to tips and your hair will be unhealthier the more frequent you wash it (weird huh?!).

My problem isn't so much oily hair, but my scalp goes all awful due to scorisis (sp?). But I'm still trying. And TBH my hair is looking a lot healthier for sure.
*ding ding* you get the gold star. This is actually correct. The more often you wash your hair, the oilier it actually gets. This is because you are stripping your hair and it then produces more... and your hair will be healthier if you don't overwash it. It balances itself and once you get past the painful adjustment period, you'll find that your hair doesn't actually become very oily at all and it is a lot healthier! I used to wash mine a couple of times a week, but stretched it over a period of time and can leave it a couple of weeks no probs. My hair is so much healthier and better looking now (this is with me colouring it too) than it has been in years!! ..... oh and it's definitely easier to stretch out the washing time if you have hair long enough to tie up lol... but seriously, the oils balance and for most people, their hair will be less oily than it was

Sibbie, my hair doesn't smell bad at all. I wet it every day to just restyle it... not wet under the shower, but with the spray bottle.

Lenny, there is a non wash shampoo... Avon had the only one for a while... but I did see one the other day at Woolies... can't think of the brand, but I think it may have been a spray. What it does is absorb some of the oil. I've tried the Avon one and found it good
