TTC after Miscarriage or Loss ~ July 07 #2

Got my BT results. Definately UTD. HCG levels low at 20 so have to get another BT done on Monday. My GP is not at all concerned about the HCG level she's only sending me for it because I was thinking I should be around 50 or so by now.

Hello everyone, wow alot has happened since i was in here last... really bad week, my dad was killed instantly in a car accident last thursday and he lived about 4 hours from where i live so i had to race up there to help organise his funeral and support my step mum. He was 73. It was just horrible. By the time we got to see him it was a week later and it didnt look like my dad. The funeral was horrible, but what can you expect. I am so so sad for my dad and what happened to him, i cant really concentrate with what is going on with our cycle, but we went ahead anyway because kim had already finished the clomid, but cant really get excited or expect much from this cycle. in short we have 3 follies and we trigger tomorrow night and have the iui on monday...

Twomums~ I am sooooo sorry for your loss that is so hard. You are in my thoughts. Literally I can't tell you how sorry I am .

Nothing going on with me, my period didn't come in July and still isn't here I haven't taken a test again cuz theres no symptoms or anything so just keep me in your prayers that I will get my period soon. I think I might stop trying i just feel so defeated right now. Oh well hope everyone is doing better than me

Twomums - thats so very sad that your Dad left you so suddenly and traumatically. I lost a husband in similar circumstances, so understand the utter shock and despair. A shame your Dad won't be around in the flesh to get the good news of your's and Kim's BFP (shortly of course) - but he'll be watching over your little one - I'm absolutely sure of that.

Be kind to yourself for a long while to come and do whatever you have to do to make yourself feel "better".

TwoMums - i am so very very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I truly believe that they are in a better place and that one day we will see them again and it will be like a wonderful reunion (my own Dad passed away last year and it is this thought that keeps me going, otherwise i'd go insane thinking i'd never see him again after this earth place!). Please try to be good to yourself and allow as much time as you need to grieve for your Dad... and even though he is not here physically, i am sure he is with you in spirit and will help you and Kim through your journey.

Ems - so sorry you are in here (i just recently came here too, last week!). I had a m/c a few years ago at 12 weeks which was a missed m/c as well, but i was advised to have a d & c straight away. I did, and then it took about 3 months for me to get my regular cycle back. This recent m/c was about 6 weeks along and my doc wanted me to do another d & c, but i said no, i wanted to try and let it resolve naturally. I am glad i did, cos it is almost finished now, after about 6 days of bleeding. I have to have an ultrasound on Wed to make sure it all came out ...i am hoping so, or otherwise i'll have to have a d & c anyway!

I hope that you can make the best decision for yourself - my doc had told me there was too much tissue (including the gestational sac) for me to have m/c'd naturally for the 12 week m/c, and i have also heard from another lady at work who m/c'd at 12 weeks - she went natural and it went horribly wrong for her (ended up with pelvic infection cos some still stuck there so she had to end up having d and c anyway). Each situation is different i guess.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do... sorry i can't be of more help. Hope your stay in here is short and sweet! (and for all of us in here too!).

Hi Everyone...im going to do some personals tomorrow, but right now im just proud and happy that i wanted to share with you wonderful ladies.. I told you all that last sunday Cooper scored his first try ever playing rugbly league...well tonight he didnt score one, nor did he score two... he managed to pull a hat trick !!! thats right, 3 tries....!!!! boy what a night !!!

megan & kim - I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. It's just awful when older peole die so tragically. We always expect them to die of natural causes or disease, never like that. Maybe the distractions you've had will help this be a successful cycle. I really hope so.

LizzieJessie - congrats on the engagement.



Even though we were going to keep things quiet the list of people who know about the pg is growing. My DF keeps saying and doing things that give it away. His sister guessed, as did his mother, now last night my mum asked why he was patting my stomach lovingly so of course I had to tell her. Its sooooo early I really didn't want to tell anyone, particularly until I see the HCG levels going up.

Ems - Welcome, you are very much in the right place here. I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and also found out at the 12 weeks ultrasound. My ob got me to come in for a D&C the very next day.

Kbowman - if you are lurking: which OPKs do you use? I think I might give it another go next cycle. I have previously used the Confirm ones that come with the pregnancy test, but they didn't work for me...

No news for me. Looking at my chart I think I have ovulated, but the pre-ovulation temps are so up and down that I just cannot find a coverline... So I think I just ride this cycle out and see what happens next.
An old school friend has invited me to come for a girlie weekend to Berlin and I am doing some navel gazing whether to go or not. So soon after the D&C I feel a bit fragile and I don't want to leave my seven year old (although I know that he would be perfectly fine with his dad). Also I don't want to miss a cycle... - Am I crazy? Should I just go and enjoy myself with the girls and forget about everything else??? Somehow I am not too excited at the prospect of boarding a plane without my DH and DS (which is not me - I always have the travel bug normally...) I have to make a decision by Monday.

Just dropping by for a quick second, thanks to everyone I feel stupid hoping for my AF, does anyone know if I can still ovulate even though my af is all messed up? I am "supposed" to ovulate in a few days but now I don't know anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
