I think Im close to Ovulation... but my OPKs arent quite pos yet... but goodness do I have EWCM. Its really thick though.. so I am thinking its time for cough meds. Do any of you have any tips on these wretched OPKs? I am driving myself bonkers. I wonder if the EWCM means I will ovulate tomorrow or today? I am a little crampy. I sure hope we didn't miss the boat.

    Blessings,
    CeCe

Hi Cece, as you get closer to O it is often a good idea to two OPKs a day, one around 11:30am and the other around 6-7pm. You can get the odd cycle where the surge is so quick you can miss it by doing one a day.
Having EW can mean O is about to happen but also can be several days before O. The common/layman thinking on that is that sperm can live for up to 5 days (or longer) in fertile fluid so therefore you want to have some beforehand to increase the odds of survival. That way when you do finally O you have a few still surviving.
I watched a documentary (I have the link if anyone wants it) and it shows how it is necessary for teh sperm to spend some time in the fallopian tubes as there is an enzyme produced there that they need as 'armour' to help penetrate the egg. It really is quite interesting how it all happens. no wonder life is such a miracle.
So long as you can BD every 36-48 hrs from just after AF then you shouldn't have to worry about timing or signs. Some experts reckon that 36 hrs is optimal.. but on FF software when you do that way it gives a pattern like my chart this month and FF only gives a 'good' rating. It doesn't know that BD was at midnight and O was around 2-3pm the following afternoon so about 15 hrs... TMI probably lol. I know we should have BD once more Sunday evening but honestly I was too tired and thought after all these months it hasn't happened so not likely it would make any difference so I rolled over instead and went to sleep.
    hugs all

Hi I'm new to this thread. A little bit about myself (my favourite subject me) just kidding. I thought I might come in here and lurk as I'm not sure where I fit in anymore now that I have had Nathaniel. He is 12 weeks old. He is my 7th baby. I have 5 living children, 4 of whom live at home with us now. I have an intense desire to have just one more baby (I know just one more I have said that before)but that's another story. Anyway I think my body is reving up to ovulate (first time since Nathaniels birth) I have familiar ovulation type pains but no EWCM so it could be a false alarm. I have been temping but because I dont always get a whole night of uninterupted sleep it may not be that accurate. Our DD 3 was concieved with help from the fertility clinic IUI first attempt. Noah and the MC at 10 weeks were natural conceptions and so was Nathaniel at just 35 days after Noah's birth. Looking forward to sharing a conception journey with you all.

    Hi Ladies,

Im sorry I havent been around, step-kiddies are here for the week cause of school holidays and have been busy busy busy. I am struggling with them though, trying my best but finding it really tough. I would love to say I am superwoman and can handle everything but its just not the case I think because of all this hormonal stuff going on inside me, I guess its only gonna get worse when the injections start.

Before I go, Klee I owe you a couple of green men Dont you even think about leaving this thread, we have already lost enough people... plus, we have a plan you know

Smiley - Welcome to the thread, congratulations for you for Nathaniel's safe arrival and also on the decision to TTC #8

Hi to everyone, I really do apologise for my lack of personals and not being around. Will be back on board next week when the kiddies go home.

    Mel

P.S. Is it just my lack of motivation at the moment or are kids always so darn messy... I have given up tidying now cause as soon as I tidy they mess it They have always stayed with us on holidays but I have never noticed it to be this bad!

I had my positive OPK at 1 am here. If I hadn't been crazy enough to POS one more time I would have missed it. Its just barely one shade lighter this afternoon (its noon wednesday here). SO far so good I guess on timing. We BDed CD 12 CD 14 and will tonight on CD15. The excess EWCM I can only guess is from my body gearing up more than usual? I don't know. Here's praying we catch the egg.

So who is in the tww? I am ready to read more good news.

    Blessings!

Well I have more pains again this morning but on the other side now. Still no EWCM so we wait. I think my body is trying hard but still not cutting the grade just yet.

KLee- congratulations on BFP. I hope to hear more anouncements soon

Cece - I hope this is the month for you. Just a quick ? what are the cough meds supposed to do ?

    Hi everyone
Smiley if you take the correct cough medicne it breaks down any mucous you have and makes it more sperm friendly. If it is to othick the sperm can't get through. Straight Robitussin used to be the recommended one but it now comes in so many different forms so you have to be careful. You may end up with one that dries up mucous to stop a cough and you DON'T want that form of it lol. Mind you chemists don't understnad so it is rather ahrd trying to describe to a chemist what sort of 'cough' you want it for. if you say you want it for TTC to break down/liquefy cervical mucous I am afraid you'd get a funny look and sent elsewhere lol.
Green tea is really good for increasing EW as is eating baby carrots ( I don't know why but if I eat tinned baby carrots I know it works for me). Evening primrose Oil can also help but do not take it after O.

CeCe hi hun, I am with you in the 2ww, 4dpo today. Nice temps for a change too. When I saw the RE yesterday and tol dhim I had the 3 pos OPKs over the weekend he siad but you only get one positive.. hmm so ok how do I tell which is THE darkest one when they all look the same. One may have just a darker edge but I put that down to just how it dried.

Mel your days sound like mine.. school is back here now but still busy. DS23 and his g/f are still here as are my 4 overseas guests. How long are you on the synarel for? It could just be all the hormonal issues making you feel overwhelmed but also the disruption to a normal routine. I love having extras here but it deos get overwhelming and as for dishes.. always seem to be at the sink.

Lynn hey hun how are you?

    Klee how are you feeling?

Aunty M it sounds like you live in a delightful setting.

Jo are you going to put pics of Storm on her website?

Spring it is lovely to see you. Congrats on the safe birth of baby Oliver.

I don't know if I updated about my RE appt. He rusn a clinic through the Royal Hobart Hospital but for anything other than talk, prescriptions etc you then have to go see him in his Rooms. So after talking about the last year and the m/c's and infections I now have to see him again next Thursday in his Rooms for a booking in for hospital. he will do a Laparosocopy and check everything including dye thru the tubes and that will be Oct 11th. He is concerned I may have scarring from the post D&C infections I had so no point doing anything until we know if the tubes are clear or not.
So for now we still wait but at least it is only two weeks not months down the track.
    hugs

    GL Cece.

Hi Judy, didn't know you were on this forum as well. Gl at your appt, hope it is a success.

Well I am in the TWW too, CD28 for me. I normally get AF anywhere from CD26-CD29, and did also after my first curette too, so I am hoping that is the same this curette. I felt O really strongly, so decided to try, wasn't going to but couldn't pass up the opportunity. Think I may have just missed it though cause my pains were at the end of the two weeks where the doc told us not to have sex. So I think I should have been dtd a few days before this pain. Really don't feel pregnant, and actually did a pregnancy test yesterday and it was as negative as they come. I just want AF to come now so I can have a glass of wine. After the last month, I just need to relax.

    Hope everyone is well.

mel - good to see you back, sorry its been a bit hormonal and hard with the kids, thank goodness for dh and who he supports in this weeks grand final, i hope they win just for his sanity lol. when do the injections start? have you been warned of any side effects?
judy - wow how interesting is all that robutussin stuff? i've never heard about it, can imagine the looks on the pharmasists face when telling whats its for, um please sir i want more mucous, "MORE mucous", sorry was doing that along the famous "Oliver" line lol, i went the green tea and it seemed to help, good luck in your tww, i so stalk your chart, its the only one i can view from work, temps look nice.
smiley - welcome, fantastic to hear you are ready to try again so soon after nathaniel's birth, bring some more love into the world. pray its not too long a wait for you.

Klee - beautiful day here today, hoping the rain stays away for the weekend cos we are headed for Lake Eildon, but it's forcast for there So do you have a due date, is it in May sometime? Thankyou so much for the PM.

Judy - My scanner isn't working at the moment, but I will put some pics of Storm on her web page later on, perhaps some of her tiny feet & hands (anything else might be to much for some people & I wouldn't like to upset anyone. if that makes any sense?)

Sheree - If Af turns up enjoy that glass of wine!

Kat - Where are you? Hope your well?
