Hi Girls,
Ela, for the past two nights has been incredibly difficult in getting to sleep at night. I have always wrapped her tightly in her bunny rug at sleep times but these past few nights she's struggling to get her arms loose and she cries and cries. Does anyone still wrap bubs tightly at sleep time?
We slept together lastnight as settling her again was quite difficult. We had a wonderful sleep pattern for 6 weeks and now she's getting more difficult.
The night before she had gas probs and she drove me insane with her crying and screaming. DH was on nightshift so i was home all alone trying to settle her and all. I didn't have any colic medication, so i rubbed her belly and gave her some panadol to ease the pain. I got Infants Friend (after reading all your recommendations) and gave her some last night. It says that bubs will like the taste, the smell is off putting enough! She didn't take it at first and spat it all out. I gave it to her again just as i put her to my breast, she swallowed it but let out an immense cry (obviously not expecting it!) but soon settled once i attached her to my breast.
Neuri - honestly... i have not had anytime for myself at all! I had a talk with DH the other day about him taking care of Ela ocassionally and letting me have some free time. He said that he found it difficult changing a "girls" nappy. I told him that i found it hard too, but he just has to get used to it, as it is his daughter. He's been doing a lot more with her in the last couple of days, thank god. He took care of her whilst i had an early night last night.
Ali- how long did it take you to get off the nipple shields? I am still feeding Ela with nipple shields. I have tried not putting it on but Ela refuses to take the nipple then. I would love to get her off it.
Take care all, Ela has woken up.
