    Hey Girls!
Well I didn't get my post back, stupid FIL's laptop. Gives me the heebee geebees sometimes. At home now, so I can start again. Hold on, can't remember now.

Well, the circumcision went well. The plastibell stays on for 3-7 days and falls off on its own (the bell, not his penis - the way the dr described it). We had to go and get some baby panadol, that seemed to soothe him. He wasn't in pain, but maybe just uncomfortable. Arsenic hour seems to be coming back at me. It went away for a while there, but starts at 430 in the arv, somedays (like today) I can stave it off til 530. For a couple of days this week, he also wasn't feeding well, if at all, during the day. He'd have a feed in the morning before Andrew left for work at 7, then a few forced sucks, but not much, then after his bath at 630 he'd feed and be off to bed! No problems at night tho. Go figure. He hadn't eaten since 7 one day, so Andrew had to feed him with a bottle. None of us liked that idea. It's all back to normal now! I could have sworn the other night, I put him to bed, then turned around and he'd had a growth spurt! I didn't remeber him being that big before! We're trying to put Jensen into his own bed in his own room (he's there now - Oh the separation anxiety) coz at least by the end of this month - def by the end of next mth - we need to give his cradle back to my friend we borrowed it off, as her baby is due around then! The reason I asked about what a doula was, is that my cousin Mel - due in 6.5wks - asked me to be one of her support ppl with her mum as the other. I'm so excited. She lives about 10-15mins from here, so I'm not sure if Im to go there, they'll pick me up or I meet them there (really gotta work out the specifics!) My sister is upset with Mel, we think partly coz she's asked me and not her. I picked out the photo for my Twinkle Toes today and bought another pic. It was hard to pick only one! If I'd had money (if I had money at all!) I would have bought them all. It was thru a company called Little Images and boy, do they take a better photo than Pixifoto! In the bounty bag from the hospital, there were vouchers for free sitting and photo from Pixi every 6mths. I'll be doing that, but just getting the free photo. Whatever i can get for free showing my beautiful bub at his most innocent!

Anyway, I'm babbling and Ive forgotten every thing else I was going to say.. so I'll be back tomorrow (maybe!) Hope you all have a great night and weekend!

Ps: Now there's a Rhianon and a Rhiannon. hehehe I'm the 1st one!!

    Gosh new thread already!

KirstenF: You crack me up. As a former social netball player (we were called the Smurfs. My t-shirt said 'Grandpa Smurf' not due to age reasons but due unfortunately to fitness/skills reasons), I am impressed that you went back to playing so soon. Centre no less. That's the hardest working position. Laura is certainly tall enough to work the goal post though. That's a big, healthy bub you have there!

Kim: glad Hayden is back to normal now after his shots. Willa has hers next Friday and I'm anxious if she'll have any sort of reaction to them.

For all the other ladies who have already taken their bubs to get their needles, do you think its worthwhile investing in that numbing gel to apply to bub's skin before the shot? My MIL just said its worth looking into to reduce the discomfort. What exactly happens for the shots? One needle or more and how long for? Most likely WIlla will handle it like a champ, but will I handle it alright or will DH have to be on standby to catch me? God, I am such a wuss. I was so out of it from lack of sleep when the heel test was done at hospital that I don't actually remember much except Willa screaming her head off and me thrusting my boob in her face (which works well for pretty much most upsets).

Regarding drooling. Yeah, it has started here too. Not much but when we took the pro pics last week, we did have to pause for a few 'mop at face' breaks before resuming.

How come you guys have such substantial MCHN checkups. Mine was downright uneventful in comparison. WIlla got weighed and measured and I was asked if there were any problems. MCHN didn't ask about head lifting, tummy time (and we had been practicing too), motor skills or anything. I brought up those things. And I was asked if she needed to check WIlla's hip joints or if I was just going to leave that to my doctor for when we get the shots done. I thought, well if its that much of a bother, I'll wait for my GP to check that. Sheesh. Is it just a luck of the draw thing for which kind of MCHN u get?

Oh and my first mother's group meeting is tomorrow at our local park. We are coinciding the meeting with the visit of the Magic Yellow School Bus that comes around to the park once a week. This means there will be a zillion other parents and older kids running around, which in hindsight might not be the best thing for a sedate mother's group...

i'm off to buy a gro bag online now because WIlla appears to be channeling Harry Houdini. Anyone using one? How well does it work in place of swaddling?

    nighterz!
