Caixin: I'm so glad to hear the clinic worked so well for you, they are so helpful. Excellent that you have a plan in place too. And good idea not to overheat Claire and yourself, I find that I am hotter than normal breastfeeding anyway. Yay for getting her to feed on both sides too. Another thing that can boost your breastmilk is brewers yeast, a friend of mine made biscuits with brewers yeast in them and they certainly increased the milk supply The cracked nipple are absolute agony aren't they, I have massive cracks in both of my nipples the left worst than the right and when Ivy latches on I have to do all I can to not scream, but that pain lasts only a minute or two then it's bearable. I'm looking forward to that feeling easing off. Hopefully only another week of the searing pain on latching for me.

Tegam: man you had a good midwife then to prevent you tearing, Ivy was born in about 3 1/2 hours and her head was 36cm. I had a 1st deg tear and needed 3 stitches, which is pretty good considering. DS head was 35 and he took 21 hours to be born and I had 2 stitches with him.

Babyluv: Could Sienna have colic? I was reading the breastfeeding assoc book yesterday and it mentioned in the colic section a lot of the things you have said Sienna does. With DS he was very colicky and I found that when I stopped eating wheat it all settled down a bit, I have stopped wheat with Ivy too, because it seems to make her a lot more unsettled when I have it. I really hope that things settle down for you soon, you must be just dead tired! Are you managing to get any sleep during the day when she sleeps??

AFM: well the blocked duct/mastitisy feeling has left the building thank goodness!!! Just have to deal with these cracked scabby nipples and the sore undercarriage (man I sound like some sort of sexy beast don't I??). Was feeling pretty good yesterday. The MCHN came and weighed Ivy, she has put on 220gms since Friday - little piggy wig! So looks like I'm doing something right Did anyone else get extreme beasties after the birth?? My beasties were wild, I was secretly loving their beastiness because I was allowed to lie on the bed all day admiring the freakery but they were pretty uncomfortable when I tried to do any walking around.
