Hi all! Sheesh, I’ve been off for awhile. I just haven’t sat down to the laptop at all, have just been fiddling with fb on my phone. It’s nice to be back
Jules, I know I need to do this too but just let other peoples’ words go in one ear out the other. Don’t feel like a failure just because one person doesn’t agree with how you are doing things. I think failure as a parent means doing something that doesn’t sit well with you and your child… or, like, starvation You love Jacob SO much and are doing an amazing job with him.
Cathie that’s just heartbreaking that Lily doesn’t like school. Give it a shot sending her in with Jake – she might try and be a “big girl” for her big brother. It’s good that they are at the same school – my niece only has her big brother with her this year – she’s in kinder and he’s in year 6. Glad Charlie’s hearing is fine! That’s a relief.
EJ sorry to hear about Harper’s wind That’s ages without a pooey bott! Jeepers! The bubbles are so cute, Millie is intentionally blowing raspberries now. She thinks she’s absolutely hilarious! Glad DH and Charlie had a lovely time together, and hooray for an 8.30pm finish!
Kaz that’s awesome about Will not fussing for the bottle for awhile! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful I had the reverse happen with Millie, she’d be on the boob for ages and then automatically scream for her bottle. So you are totally on the right track there, lady! I hear you about the exercise jiggles… I was chanting the “need a new bra” mantra at Zumba on Tuesday!
MadB we’re going with the standard immunisation schedule, although we did refuse the Hep B straight after birth as it seemed too much for such a tiny body to handle, especially since she wasn’t at risk. We’re going o/s in June and she’s going into daycare in July and I just want to give her as much protection as we can. I luuuuurve Miri’s nappies, they look so cute
So, it has been a busy week. Monday I had my last session at the official local parent info session - the nurses were obviously trying to get us pre-Christmas Mummies to get our act together, so we did… Tuesday was a stay-home day which was the worst thing I could have done in terms of my mental state. I thought Millie might need a quiet day at home as we’ve been so busy, with a late night for her cousin’s birthday on Monday night, and she did – she was very good and slept very well, but I was a bit glum. Zumba helped a bit that night but the jiggling meant that I didn’t get into it so much! Wednesday us Mummies met up for coffee and a movie – No Strings Attached which was a bit crude to begin with but had some genuinely funny moments. We were all just so stoked to be out doing grown up things together. It was nice. I never thought I’d be into mothers’ group, but it has been great. Thursday we all went for a walk in Parra Park and today was yoga. Am I being too busy for Millie do you think? She has been fantastic – seems to like being out and having new things to look at in the morning, and then generally settles well in the afternoons. She has had a couple of hissy fits this week, but I think it’s just her asserting herself… I should add that her hissy fits tend to last only 20 minutes and an unsettled period means that she wakes completely between cycles and needs resettling, but this is rare. She’s a really good baby! I don’t want to over stress her, but I just find I need to get out of the house at least once a day.
I went for the ultrasound on Thursday – I have a lump in my jaw that is affecting chewing and occasionally sleeping. The films were being sent to my doc today so I’ll go see her about that on Monday… and yes I will get a referral to a counselor. It is ridiculous as Millie is a gorgeous little girl and so good for the vast majority of the time, there are no medical issues and I’m sure I’m doing a good job with her… but I just don’t feel right in myself. I have been through counseling before and I know it will help. Thanks for your support ladies.
I got the BBH trial pack… kinda wish I had got the medium pack! Most of the products are multifit but there’s two small there and the petite looks waaaay too small for my munchkin. The bamboo takes forever to dry which is annoying, I think I will make some microfibre inserts.
DH is away for a buck’s weekend! He’s the self-designated sensible person so I’m not too worried about him. Not so sure about the groom though…
Time for leftover risotto for dinner mmmmm… take care ladies, and have a lovely weekend!
