    hehe thanks everyone...

Alicia - the whole thing was shot at the centre, except the home cams but it was funny cos the camera men constantly cracked it cos they wanted so many different back grounds and there wasnt much choice.

kts64s - i plan on only buying organic for ash too, theres just so many chemicals in foods these days. i wish i could eat it myself too tho.

Trish - do they only have one meal a day till 8 months???

Lauren, I guess it's totally up to you as a mum, I find incresing the meals gradually works better. So by 7 months 2 feeds etc. But as I said it's up to the individual and the baby.

LOL at the cameramen. I was waiting for your hometime scene. So did she cure Ash's problem of seperation anxiety ? Abbey is going through it something shocking atm.

Abbey is having the organic baby foods. ATM I haven't had a chance to make up my own. But it truelly is on my to do list

ETA, forgot to say Lauren, because Ash is a bigger bub he might want more food though. Up to you whether you make that up with more BF or solids.

Buzzie: I wish I could afford for DH and I to also eat that way too. I have decided though that I am going to take time to look at our spending and tighten things up so when our little one is eating what we eat we continue to offer her organic food. I just think if I only do it for the first twelve months then stop I should not have bothered.

I'm going to really try and keep organised with shopping and meals etc so we can do this for her. We don't have a terrible amount of money so she will never be spoilt with material things and this I think is a far better 'gift' to her than any toys.

I know it will take a lot of time and planning but I am just going to keep reminding myself that it is the best gift I can give her.

HOpe everyone has a great day! The weather is revolting here and we are ment to go out for lunch. Would love to get out of the house but is it really worth it in this weather?

That's true hun. Abbey rarely gets a chance to cry overnight. I just shove a bb in her mouth. Quietens her up pretty fast.

haha Trish, try telling Chrissie there's only 1 meal a day! hmmmm not gonna work, she screams the house down when we sit down to have lunch or dinner and ONLY shuts up if we give her food..!!! that's one of the reasons i started her early on solids.. she even drinks from a glass occasionally!! She still has 4 bottles of milk a day too!..she only ever used to have 5!

Morgan and Liz - We were given a bumbo and have fond it really useful. Olivia used to sit in it a couple of months ago as practice, and now she sits in it really well on her own. Try one out in the shop though as friends passed theirs onto us because their little girls chubby legs didn't fit through the holes for long!

Terrible night here. Olivia is sounding like she has a really blocked nose so last night she was having trouble breathing with her dmmy in but wouldn't go to sleep without the dmmy! I feel like I was up all night with the poor little bub. At the moment though she is full of beans and trying to roll out of the lounge room door! She really is turning into a cheeky little thing.

OK off to do some housework before mothers group.

hmm I think we are going to give solids a rest.. Watching Olivia just now she is gagging when it is going down.. She really isn't showing any signs of knowing what to do. I guess behaviour wise nothing has changed and it won't effect her in any way if I just stop.. so stop we shall do Might try again in a week or so. I know Jacob didn't take to solids till 7 months and was only eating one meal a day at 8 and a half month byt 9 months he was on 2 meals a day and he was fully BF and was huge !!

I have been a good little housewife today I have cleaned and mopped and dusted and all that other fun stuff.. Only done 2 rooms but what a difference it has made..

Haroula: I started my eldest on solids at 4 months and he was eating 3 meals a day at 5 months. in hindsight I should have probably waited but back then I didn't know what to do and just did whatever.. If you think Chrissie needs 3 meals a day and she is a happy and settled child for the day and night (within reason) then trust your mummy instincts.. IMO if she is eating it and happy then she is ok.. I guess if you wanted maybe lessen the amount at each meal.. I think from memory Ethan was having a cup of veges at night and less then that for the other 2 meals..

I am super happy atm i have both kids asleep

Anyway thanks Alicia & Liz will have a squiz at the bumbo's.

Haroula - it does sound like a lot of food for this age but if you think she needs it and as long as she is still getting her milk quota.then trust yourself.

Nic - Sounds like Olivia's not too bothered, maybe try the finger food i think thats what im going to do with Vicky. Well done with the housework i've got 1 load of washing out & have washed the brekkie dishes and that'll do until DP gets home.

kts64s - good on you for giving your little girl at great start in life...having kids was the best thing we did for our own diets.

Trish - if Vicky's anything like her mum she'll talk under water , and im like you i think i need to start popping Vicky into her cot for sleeps instead of letting her sleep on me...i might even get stuff done

I was just reading up a bit more on the BLS and I think next week I will offer a stick of carrot.. cooked obviously I won't put it in her mouth but on the high chair tray and let her play with it. Well either carrot or apple.. Avacado is a possibilty too.. My friends daughter ate avacado for her first food and made a lovely mess but really enjoyed it.. she just lay her on the floor with an ava in front of her and she just gummed it and licked it

    hi ladies..

yep, she's fantastic... has 3 sleeps during the day and sleep from 8pm-6ish am! straight... the only time she gets upset is when i deny her food! haha... she just polished off for lunch about 120ml of vegies and about 50ml of fruit... mind you i had to stop.. and now sleeping like an angel!! when she wakes up she's have her milk..

I think that if i had to force her to eat or she was gagging i wouldn't have given her so much... i just go by her queues..! if she wants it, she eats.. if not she doesn't! finger food is a great idea too... she has some fruit like that.. loves it! and i put some things in the mess feeder, she loves that too and cracks it when i take it away to fill it up again! LOL hehehe funny girl!

Hey Trish - I was just wrapping kayla for a sleep, and wondered if you wrap Abbey at all? Do you think she might be waking cold at night?

I wrapped Tallon until he was about 7 or 8 months, I'll probably wrap Kayla longer than that coz it's kind of a sleep queue for her, and I know that she's toasty warm during winter. I know she can go to sleep without being wrapped, coz I've put her down while I get dressed or something and she goes off to sleep LOL. but yeah, I keep wrapping her to keep her warm and stop her rolling through the night.

    Just a thought

hey nic i thought carrot sticks are 'supposed' to be given at 1yrs old incase they bite a chunk off and choke?? or is that raw carrot?

Lauren, that'd be raw carrot. Softened (cooked) carrot would be fine But I reckon teething rusks are as bad as raw carrot.. DS used to bite off chunks from them.

    Hi ladies,
Just a quick one I need to go and make dinner... just soup, and easy one tonight. Had a mole removed from under my arm, kinds on the side of my boob this arvo and my arm is starting to ache. Haven't fed Ty from that side yet and I'm scared it will hurt with the skin pulling. Wish me luck!!
Trish- You poor thing. Ty is the same an Nic's Olivia- some days all it takes is putting him in his cot and he's out for the count... most times i rock or pat him to sleep but some days he gets cranky with me even trying and just wants to be left alone!!
Haroula- I'm with Trish on this one hun- three meals a day seems a bit much.
Kts- Ty has one or teaspoons of food a night, pureed fruit and veg at the moment. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, depending on his mood. It's just a play thing for him, to try different tastes and textures, not a 'food' thing. He has about 30-50 mls boiled water in a cup throughout the day.
Invested in a mesh feeder thing today and we're going to try some banana in it tomorrow.
Trish, you might be able to answer this for me- even with that little bit of food, we are still doing the bf poo thing- one a day at most, sometimes a few days between them. Should he be doing more, with the food and water? They're still regular looking poos, not formed or anything... what do you all reckon?
Alirght I'm outta here... night all

    hi ladies,
well i am hanging out for Ethan to go to sleep! little bubba he has been awake all day and is now so cranky!! All mine have tried it lol i dont know why it isnt as though they really miss out on anything. Hopefully he will sleep for a nice long time 2nite. he is trying to crawl it looks so funny. he puts his belly on the floor and waves his arms and legs around or only pushes the front half up. doesnt like to roll but does donuts on the floor.
lorirae - hugs to you hope it doesnt pull. i do remember how much they hurt if they do.
liz - i wrap ethan up if he is really jumpy. it helps to make them more "secure".
haroula - sounds like your little girl is doing wonderfully. congradulations.
aussienic - i use a plain milk arrowroot biscuit. they go nice and soft. never thought of a cooked carrot - might have to give it ago
morgan - i wish my kids still napped threw the day. enjoy the rest, hope they are feeling better.
    gotta run and feed ethie
