    Hi everyone,

Happy Valentines Day! We went out for a nice day in The Dandenongs with our little 'third wheel' lol. Anyone do anything nice?

Olivia found her hand a while ago and now regularly sucks on it. Although she tends to prefer to hold it like she is holding an ice-cream cone and lick the top as if it is an imaginary ice-cream iykwim. I also think she focuses much further away than 20cm. She watches us walk in and out of rooms she is on and follows us as we walk around.
Now she has started 'calling' for us. She doesn't cry but just kind of yells when she wants us and we are not in the same room as her :-)

Happy Anti-Valentines from me My little protest.. No we didn't do anything nice as DH worked but he rang me a few times and gave me a kiss and promised me something special tonight

My Little Miss O calls for us too. Its kinda funny cus she yells like she is upset but when you walk in the room she goes quiet and looks.. who me. I didn't make that noise..

Olivia was not a happy little girl tonight. didn't cry for long but she was just unsettled.. She is asleep now. who knows if it is for the night or not.

Bek: Thanks for the info. Olivia is pretty much right on target with her sleeping give or take an hour here or there depending on how her day is going

Went to an antenatal apt today for a group of mums doing massage sessions and ash was the demo baby.. but the only thing he demo'ed was how to hate being there and cry till u get boobies,,hehe.

Ash has to have his needles next tuesday and im soooooo upset about it. i so dont want them to hurt him.. was anyone else upset to do it, cos i feel like everythinks im being stupid.

I know how you feel.. I hate taking the kids to get their needles.. It doesn't get any easier either.. hate to tell you that . but I don't think you are being stupid no one wants to take their babies off to get stuck with a needle.. Can anyone go with you for moral support? I always take dh

I'm the hard-hearted hannah around here I guess.. needles have never worried me.. and when Kayla was having bloods taken a few weeks ago, she wouldn't bleed for them, so it took ages and she was screaming.. the poor nurse was so upset worried about how distressing it is for the mother.. well.. I was fine! LOL. Obviously it's not nice seeing her cry like that.. but it didn't upset me iykwim. I was just calmly giving her her dummy and talking to her trying to calm her. *shrug*.

    morning ladies,

    alicia
    - OMG that is so Chrissie!! she does exactly the same thing with her hand! And she follows us too... if you look at the pic in my gallery of her cradle, at the top of the draped fabric there is a bit of a gap where we can look in at her without her seeing us! WELL lately she's been finding our peering eyes in the gap! little bugger!

Lauren - bugger! strange... must be something in the air re sleeping these last few days!

Liz - that makes two of us.. i'm the same as you re needles! doesn't phase me!

OK... the last 3 times i tried expressing i only got out 30ml each time from my "mega" boob which usually supplies me with 80-100ml expressed EACH go! WHAT is going on!?!?! Could my milk me drying up???...... OR is it because of the mini pill.. i started taking thing two days ago....could it reduce my milk..? OR is my milk just "settling down".......

Haroula, I can top your fantastic night huni

Abbey slept from 9pm til 6.40am, no wake ups whatsoever !!! My boobs are soooooooo full though. She's sitting happily in her swing now.

    BBL to catch up.

Oh BTW Haroula, that really is a fantastic sleep for a 7 week old baby

    Haroula: what an awesome sleep!!

The mini pill could be having an effect on your milk.. Ask Barb she might know.

Trish: Great sleep for you too Must have been the night for it

Olivia slept 6pm to 3:30am and then 4:15 till 7

yet I am still foul!!! Either I have serious PMS or these kids have simply pushed my buttons to the point of no return. Simon is taking me out for dinner on Monday so hopefully that will be enough of a break..

Gotta be quick but Haroula don't stress at all about your drop in production with expressing - it is perfectly normal and your supply IS NOT dropping at all. Boobs (and brains) know when there is a real baby attached to you and you will produce less on the pump until you get used to it. So much so that many women who express at work take their "baby porn" with them - photos of their bub to stimulate milk. I get heaps more when Ollie is in the room than not. Please don't worry about this at ALL!

    thanks ladies...

was just worried cause i been expressing pretty much from beginning and it was weird to see such a drop... so i give her EBM during the day and boobie at night. It's what works, otherwise she doesn't eat enough at each feed to sustain her the 2-3.5 hr sleeps and she's on the boob then every 1.5hr!!! does my head in!

Nic - way to go Olivia!! what a sleep!!!

Trish - great sleep for Abbey too!!

Haroula - I heard that your supply starts to settle in around the 8wk mark and those ladies who have over supply often experience a drop in supply but apparently you still have nough for bub. hth.

    Hey question?

I just weighed Olivia at the chemist. and since the 2nd February she has only gained 200grams. So thats 100grams a week.. Is that ok??

I guess I am just worried because the CHN wanted her reweighed in a month..

(this is a fully dressed weigh on the chemists scales) 2nd February she was 5.62 kg and today the 15th she is 5.82..

Nic - I've seen barb say somewhere that around the 3 month mark they expect gains of 80-120g per week. I'd say she's fine If the nurse was worried she'd probably want to see her sooner than a month

Thanks Liz.. I need to keep reminding myself of my own advice and look at the whole child not just the weight gain. I am not used to such a small child. All my boys have been well over 6kg at this age
