Laura- its shocking, we got it in out BB grp too. i feel so, so sad for tracy...my heart is going out to her!

yvettemj- good on you for doing whats best for you an your little Lauren. a relaxed mum = relaxed bub! i had darren on formular while in SCN (for the first two ish days with what little colostorum i could hang express..) so be proud of your self for giving Lauren the best start in life! and she must be lucky to have a relaxed mum for it too (i get flustered with feeds sometimes due to darren spilling half of it down me as i have to use a nipple sheild...)

Sterla - i hope she's ok...i wonder what happend... i hope her little one is watching over her and guideing her though this shocking time...

AFM: after the news in the BB grp my day seems alot less bad.
i feel stupid for being annoied at my MCHN for making we wake darren so she could check on his attachment as he lost 100g (he put on 120 in two days last week, but i blame myself for him loseing it because of this oral thrush i dont think i expressed enough and there for he lost the waight..) but if on friday when we see her, if she talks about maybe 'topping' darren up on formula ( no offecnce to you yvettemj, i can totaly understand your angle) i'll slap her. i have the milk supply...and i'm going to use it! plus dont most babies come home from hossy having lost waight? i figer Darren had 6 days in SCN then over night in peadeatrics. so he was rather...regumented...but that dosent seem as bad right now...but on the upside i think i've worked out how to settle darren in his bassent...i made a 'nest' and put him to sleep on his side - he likes it there! plus if he throws up in his sleep (which he can do at times..) he wont choke on it so im not as worried now!

Blip: No idea what happened. I'm in shock by the news. I can't believe it.
Are you using a nipple shield too? I am, which is good (Oliver can actually attach), but bad (he always knocks it off and I spill milk everywhere). Try not to worry about Darren - you're a fantastic mummy and will always do what's best - don't let the 'professionals' try and tell you otherwise.

Oliver had his first check-up today and he's doing really well. He has put on 245g on his birth weight, 185g of which he put on in the last week. He's also grown about 3cm in length. He's a very healthy, happy little baby . He did not like being weighed and measured though - he squawked the entire time! We've had such a good run with Oliver - we've been very lucky.

I hope all you new mummies are doing well.

Hi Ladies, my name is michelle and became a 1st time mum to my baby girl Anastasia born on 1st feb weighing 3.5kgs.
I have been looking for a forum of mums with bubs around the same age as i am the only one in my circle of friends that has a baby so no one really understands what its like!
The first 4 weeks were great with bub but she seems to have Reflux, we have the awful times during the day where she just wont settle and seems to be in so much pain... have started her on Zantac so hopefully this will help. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

1pj - Try the co- sleeping - it is a bit scary at first but you get used to where the baby is.

Melanie Kate - Have you tried talking to someone about the bf probs you are having at all? I think you can call the Aust BF assoc counsellors without having to be a member. Also perhaps your child health clinic has a breastfeeding help part - I know ours does. Don't give up hope yet - do some research on improving milk supply.

Sterla - cool that our bubs share a birthday. Cheeky little monkey's to come on Friday the 13th.

Blip - go with your instinct I reckon - it seems to me that every nurse type person has their own ideas about what you should and shouldn't do when it comes to bf. 10g is nothing and could be the calibration on the scales!

MKart - thats no good about the reflux! Hope it gets better.

As for Us - We went to the baby clinic yesterday just for a chat and a weigh. Harris has put on 600g since his birth which is great. The nurse there was great to talk to and gave me some tips about signs of overtiredness.
I bought Harris a baba sling today so that I can be more hands free around thehouse. I still haven't qite got it worked out yet - he doesn't like being in it to sleep in the cradle position. He is sleeping on me upright though which is good enough. We will see how it goes!

    Hi ladies!

My name is Ann and our twin girls were born at 8.30am on the 15th of Feb.

Mae weighed in at 2.4kg and Hana was 2.2kg. My little girls are trying to catch up on their weights by using me as a human milkbar.

I also have another little girl called Ella who is a very independant 2 years old.

We are trying to bf these two munchkins which is a lot trickier than a singleton baby as I'm discovering... Well at least we've made it this far. yay!

Congratulations on your twin girls luua! And well done on b/f them - that must be tricky!

MelanieKate: So glad your little guy is doing so well .

AFM: Well, as I thought might happen, Oliver has stopped letting mummy have nice 5-6 hour sleeps at night, and has instead decided he would like to wake every 3-4 hours for his feed. Oh well - he's a growing lad .

Lachlan slept 5hrs last night! last feed was at 11pm and he didn't wake until 5am! Just tried giving him his afternoon feed and he just layed there with my N!pple in his mouth, I have a feeling my milkbar has ran out of milk!

I feel like I have let him down!!!

is it only Lachie or do all babies have stinky mustard/pea green poos?
