It just never seems right to beat Kirsten..... but WOO HOOO
i'm first heheeh
just needing to find the thread before i forget there is a new thread and wonder why have not seen anyone else's replies... ho hum
jemima has started to 'bite' me when we are feeding but only on one side, doc said it was because she is getting older and more clever (ok more clever wasnt exactly what doc said but something like that) also she is sucking funny on one side too, all to do with distractions and milk quantities and stuff.... we may also be getting thrush as well Jemima was SO SO cute, doc said she had to look in jem's mouth so jemima opened her mouth real wide and the doc thought it was so funny, she is such a funny baby... got some cream which is going to be pain in the butt, i have to put it on to get rid of any thrush symptoms basically before i get them and i have to wipe most of it off before i feed and put it back on again after for at least 2 weeks! i dont mind though i would prefer to nip anything in the butt before i get it!!! i had started to get a tingling senstation after feeding and sometimes sore nipples while feeding, but it was the pain and tingling thing that the doc said made her think it was thrush coming...
maybe TMI but i thought i better share in case anyone else having same thing
some pains i was putting down as c-section after pains are actually to do with back pain which i thought was reallyinteresting, but now i have to go to a physio, oh well as if i have time for that... will figure something out.
happy wednesday,
it is raining so hard here at the moment it is wonderful been raining all night hopefully in all the right places.... hopefullly will keep going until tomorrow so that i dont feel as guilty about my planned dvd day at home (maybe in pjs) - its awesome i have no plans until thursday lunchtime!
Yeah, DS bites or pulls his head off when distracted, I found a sharp "no" and an end to the feed stopped that. He does occasionally nibble, but that's when the breast is empty and he's upset that he can't get more out.
Just a quick Q - any other baby twist their bib round so it's a cape? DS does this as soon as I put on a bib, won't turn it back and if I do he just capes it again. Does he ant to be a superhero?
Good one Kel - I haven't been first for such a long time
We jut got a brand new spanking laptop so I am getting used to the new keyboard - I will be able to do colours and stuff too now...whooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooo.
Quinn did the fussing and biting one boob - very early on - since I take him to a chiropractor it was discovered that he had an issue with his shoulder...some days he still thinks my nipple is a teething toy, ad when I detatch myself from the ceiling I do the firm "No" thing too, like Ryn. I had nipple thrush!!!! It is torture!!!! Like big spider legs of pain through your whole breast. I had to put stuff in Quinn's mouth and also on my nipple. Lucky you caught it early Kel!!!!!!!!!!!
I am loving Pubert the caped crusader - he is so funny. They are all pretty funny - Quinn has a whole range of new funny noises.
Hey Hey
Kirsten - so we get baby to sleep after about 2 hourish after baby wakes up... what do we do if baby wakes up again after only say 15-20 mins??
Interesting you say that about Quinn's shoulder, i'll keep an eye out for that with Jemima as she is sometimes a little turtle like with her arms.... why did you start taking Quinn the chiro what did you notice?
Am hoping i have caught whateva this nipple thing is before it is anything... Jemima doesnt have anything yet and i may just be starting to get something so fingers crossed, I so dont want to express, i dont know how people have time for that and to then feed it to baby etc.....
ryn - jemima loves putting things over her head, i dont have bibs on her much as she is not really that spewy unless of course she is wearing something really nice to go somewhere important... she is now taking up the blankie habit, however her blanket as well as being in her mouth and in her hand playing at back of head now also ends up over her head completlly, she loves is and snuggles away to sleep.... not a fantastic habit, but my fault so i will find a way to make it a safe one.... (we get her to sleep sometimes by just cuddling her in front of the telly with a wrap completly over her) you got to take a photo of pubert being superman that sounds so so cute, not a very effective bib though?
4 month check up next week and needles..... have to make appointment for that (i made one yesterdayfor next friday but that is now first day of volunteering....)
Well, alls been going okay here... Harrison is FINALLY gaining decent amounts of weight... he gained 510g in 10 days so wooo hooo for Harrison!
He had his 2nd lot of immunisations today... poor little guy... he was very grumpy.
He is so beautiful... we're constantly getting people stopping us in the streets so they can look at him. He has started to mimick us when we say things to him now too... and he has 2 little teeth just teetering on the edge of breaking through!!!
He is now in his big cot, and he looks so tiny in it!!!
Hopefully I will get a chance to come in here more often... but it has been difficult lately because of personal reasons... I just want you all to know when I do get a chance to come in here, I try to read as much as I can, but boy can you all talk!!! Sometimes it is so hard to catch up!!!
Lisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello there!! Lovely to hear from you! yay for harrison gaining so much weight.
Kel: I will try to get him back to sleep - but usually 20 mins is enough for Quinn...I got an hour and a half the other day which was lovely - although he doesn't sleep duirng the day as much as some babies because he sleeps 9-11 hours overnight! I am so grateful for that. Quinn had his first adjustment by the chiro when he was 20 hours old, chiro came to hospital to visit and noticed his shoulder was a bit dodgy because of the birth, it needed a few adjustments till it was completely better, about 3 weeks. Quinn loves the chiro
How the blazes do you get a baby to sleep after two hours? Seriously girls, DS just isn't into sleep at all. He'll be up 3-4 hours, sleep 20-30 minutes, up another 2-3 hours, sleep 1-2 hours, up 3 hours, sleep 20-30 mins, then bed after another about 3 hours. He's such a grump, but refuses to sleep more than this. I'm putting my hair out! Then he was up every 2-3 hours last night for a quick cry until I got out of bed and jigged him back to sleep (he may have been a bit too hot I realised this morning... so just stay asleep in your own bed, that way you're not in my bed and you don't rootle under the duvet and make yourself too hot, you stupid boy!). Oh, I just want sleep! I want DS in his bed in his room and not to have to get ready for bed at 9pm just in case he wakes up and I give up and go to bed. I want to get up at 6.30 with DH, grab a drink and get dressed before DS starts up. I don't like being up all night walking the floors! Why doesn't Liebling just get that sleep is a great thing and we don't fight it? (Having said that, what did I do at work all through pregnancy?)
Anyway, Lisa, good to see you! Great to hear about Harrison doing so well too.
I'll have to get a pic of DS being a caped crusader, may have one, but he's wearing a bib normally right now. I'm so over him spewing after pretty much every day feed too. What's wrong with my milk that he rejects it so often?
He's upset about something, gtg again! Ruddy child, I need some rest and just aren't happy today.
i think pubert and quinn must be sending awake during the day messages to each other!! quinn isn't interested in sleeping today...but he's stopped crying at least. he's been cranky about having teeth today. he should have thought of that before growing them then, shouldn't he?
Thank you for your kind words of support for the loss of our first baby Smokey the cat. It still seems so strange not having her around, I keep looking around for where she normally is. Just 2 weeks ago I took some photos of her with Erin and my hubby so they will be nice reminder for her. Better change subject before I get teary again.
Erin went to the CHN and is 5.8kg now she has neraly doubled her birth weight now which is great. She is 3 months today so feel really good that I have been able to breastfeed to this point as this was my goal in my head. She is still feeding really well so hopefully we can make it to 6 months as the next goal.
Thanks girls for the tip on the redness in her neck creases I used some Jurlique baby soothing cream and it cleared up nearly over night.
Erin had been sleeping through the nigt for the last 2-3 weeks but for the last 4 nights she has started waking again at 3am for a quick feed, not sure why, maybe a growth spurt???

just a quickie
Hey Kristy - Jemima been waking up at about 2-3am for the last week too, however she gets a gold star today as she didnt last night!!!! Just woke at 5am for feed. I was definately thinking growth spurt and maybe the weather too? or that it is getting darker earlier and staying darker later so that may be screwing with the system??
ps - hey lisa!! am so glad you came back, went looking for you last week and saw you had been around and that everything was ok. so i figured you would come back when you were ready............ harrison is adorable!!! you will never have anyone say "who's his daddy?" he and rob look so much alike, that hair is awesome.... jemima's is falling out but growing back at same time so not too much of a mullet happening... i keep telling her mullets are cool
Hi everyone. This is a real quickie because I think I'm going to go back to bed (not much happening on the US stock market for my liking). This is an all about me post I'm afraid...
I have the baby from hell! Poor little mite has been horrible the last two days. She cries and cries and whinges and whinges for hours on end. Yesterday I had to put her in her cot several times and just walk away. I was at the end of my rope. I emailed DH about it and told him not to call me because if he phoned, I'd have to talk and that would make me cry! ARGH!
I don't know what's wrong with her. I ended up giving her Panadole yesterday because she was acting like she was in pain. She eventually calmed down and then went to sleep (on the couch next to me) for a few hours.
She's had a bit of a restless night so far, but at least she's still sleeping through at night. She's relying more on the dummy at night now, but I really don't mind too much about that - at least she will grow out of it in time.
Yawn. I'm off, hoping to have a dream that will have all the answers....
wow, Michelle, I've been wishing DS and DH dead recently too! DS's sleeping is worse (playtime all night), he's a grumpmeister during the day, he is generally the most unhappy baby in the world, even for other people. A friend commented yesterday she could see how I'd burnt off the baby weight as she saw how much walking and bouncing I did with DS.
Can't help, but thanks for letting me know Bella's the same, it really makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone. I've found camomile helps for a bit, but when it wears off he's even worse.
Hi Everyone! I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaack! And gee does it feel good to be home!!!! I had a great time in SA (with some bad bits but what trip involving family doesn't have bad bits????). And I got home tonight to a message from my sister about my Dad - oh so fun. Ignoring that message! The Dedication went so well. FIL gave the service (he is ordaned) as the father of the Minister scheduled to do it passed away on the Friday night. FIL got teary during the service which was sweet. Abbey looked like a little Princess! (I will put photo's on her site over the next week). The wonderful Sunny Summer was my saviour on the Day and kept me nice and calm after a little hiccup. But we had a GREAT time! It even stopped raining for the duration!!!!! (It had been BUCKETING all week!). Abbey was completely spoilt by everyone. My IL's gave us so much of DH's old stuff (which we had asked for) so have come home with a rocking horse, books, linen, toys! Nearly needed to hire a trailer! And she got some lovely gifts on the day. Her Godmother bought her a little heart lock bracelet to wear on the day - it is so lovely!!!! And she was spoilt with lots and lots of cuddles from everyone - she keeps looking for her Grandparents at the moment which is very cute. But she is so happy to be home again - she keeps looking around and smiling. And as soon as I tucked her in her bed she went straight to sleep!!!
Kristy - I am so sorry for your loss hon. I know how you are feeling - we had to have out Dog put to sleep not long after Abbey was born. It broke our hearts and we cried for days. Abbey went through a phase of waking for an extra feed and the nurse suggested she was stockpiling because of the cold. Sure enough - I added another blanket and she was fine.
Lil - how is the move progressing now?
Sorry girls, I can't remember what else I read!!! My brain is still half asleep after the trip home. Hope all the Mummies and Bubbies are well!
Kirsty - I am sooooo sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Smokey... I lost my precious furbaby Bijou whilst pregnant with Harrison and it still upsets me . Huge hugs to you :hugs:
Well, Harry got weighed again on Friday... he gained 480g in a week!!! We were all astounded!!! He is really starting to look chubbier now too, which is brilliant!
Kel - I agree, Harrison definitely is his Daddy's boy... so many people tell us how much he looks like his Dad... he is definitely his Daddy's side with some little Lisa bits thrown in... like his temper!! lol
Ryn - Harry has a bib that says "" Its not a bib... it's my superhero cape on backwards!!!" so cute!!!
Hi everyone
Lisa - lol about the cape. Isabella somehow twisted her bib around so it was back to front and DH "flew" her around the room to test her new cape out! Glad to hear Harrison's doing so well and that's an amazing weight gain!
MG - welcome back! Glad to hear the trip went well and Abbey got lots of nice stuff! We haven't braved a long trip yet.... not sure if we will for a while either!
Ryn - I can't say I wished her dead. I think it was more wishing myself dead! I hope you've got your little man sleeping.
Kel - I've been telling Bella that mullets are cool too - only problem is, her hair's longer on top and shorter at the back and sides. What do you call that kind of hairdo?? lol
Kristy - so sorry about your cat. I'm a dog person myself and I know I'd hate to lose my little Fluffy who happens to be on my lap right now! (She was named by DD and not me, ok!)
Hi to everyone else!
Me - Bella is back to her old happy self. Actually, she's a LOT happier than normal. It's really wierd. Yesterday was her happiest day yet. She hardly cried all day, was an angel when we went out for dinner last night and only took a few minutes to settle for bed. She was chattier than normal and has started making more noises. It sounds like she's having a conversation with us, with little laughs in between sentences. She is soooo cute! I think I was a bit hormonal the other day too (yup - the lovely AF!), which wouldn't have helped at all. I'm just so relieved I only had a day of it! Could have been the change of weather too?? We were thinking we finally had winter, then yesterday DH and I were out for a walk in shorts and tshirt. Wierd. Bella loved that too.
We have needles this week. I'm booking her in for Friday because DH has the day off - I want him to experience the "joy" of being responsible for having needles stuck into an innocent child...! My friend used the numbing patches on her DD, and said they worked beautifully, so I'm definitely off to the chemist to get some beforehand. I think she put them on an hour before. She also gave Panadole beforehand. I hope it all works!
Well I'm going back to bed. Stockmarket is boring again (seeing as it's Monday in NY) and I'm cold (even with Fluffy on my lap!).
Thank you for all your lovely messages about Smokey. It is really true how they become part of your family.
Michelle - Can't beleive its time for Bella to get her next set of needles, how fast are our bubs growing up! It is so cute there laughs, they just make your day don't they?
Lisa - What a great weight gain, I also keep getting told how much Erin looks like her Daddy. Though the other day I saw some of my baby photos and I think she looks like me when I was a bub.
Mg - Hi sweet, Abbey looked like a Princess I just loved her dress. She is too cute!!We are starting to talk about getting Erin christened it is just hard being in the country and all the friends and family in Perth. What did you do for the after party bit?
Ryn - Hopefully Ds will start sleeping for you really soon, as it can really get you down.
Smylie - How is Jemima sleeping now?
Erin after sleeping through the night for 2 weeks has decided 3am is dinner time again, though she is good and goes straight back to sleep after her feed and sleeps then to 7am. She is also really good now when we put her down at night evern if she is awake she is putting herself to sleep.
We had a lovely morning they have a program here every Wednesday at 9am they go to a different work palce around town and the people who work there read a coupel of kids stories. Of course Erin is still too young to be taken much in but she was having a good little giggle today when the postman read stories to the kids. Great for me to get out as well. We have also started going to playgroup on Friday mornings which is also good and I love ctaching up with the other Mums. Our CHN is also starting a New Mums group next weeke as there has been about 5 biubs born in the last 3 months in our little town so will be looking forward to that.
Well better get read y for netball training, Take Care girls.
