I still haven't finished reading my book. I found a four in one book and found that the Reader's Digest had edited it. By edit, they chop out heaps. So my medical thriller kinda fizzled at the end. Kinda like bad sex. But yeah, I want to read something new. What's good? Even if its kinda old and you've read it ages ago, coz I'm very likely to get it from the library.

Tash, sorry I hadn't kept up to date, or I could have chatted with you about this yest!!.... you mentioned ages ago (like maybe the 25th...) about missing going to the movies.... you HAVE to check out the crying rooms at Rhodes cinemas, they are great! OK, so it's not quite the same seeing a movie with bub in tow, but I've been a couple of times now and am a big fan. One thing I love, is that its not like a "babes in arms" thing where its just 1 session, once a week (like at Macquarie).... with the crying rooms, you can go any day to any session and see what ever movies are showing in the 2 main cinemas for that week! If you ring the cinema, there is an option on the phone tree for crying room movie options for each week. Oh, and I meant to swap mobile numbers with you yest (if you want of course...) Does Catherine have your number and would you mind if I got it from her???

How is the elephant relocation going Kel? Is the elephant adjusting????? How have you created a Jemima area...with a playpen type thing or just smart furniture placement?

We are just starting to contemplate Monkey-proofing and I think we are going with the lazy option.... 2 gates will block off the kitchen, sunroom and laundry, so most problems solved. Just a few pesky cords to think about in living room...... oh and then there's the issue of our spare room which doesn't have a door at present!!! (one of those renovation projects where we got rid of the ugly red sliding door and never quite managed to replace it!) Instead of "spare" room, you could read "junk" room.... total baby nightmare and I don't think the curtain will fool her for long!!!

In other news... did I mention previously that Monkey is saying "bye bye" with a wave and in context?! Am very proud of my girl!!!

Better go, have to find out how to pay for cross-city tunnel online, as I drove thru the other day forgetting I was in a car without a etag...oops!

Hi Girls,

It looks like I am the lucky one with having my hubby away this week. Although I do miss him. I don’t even let him make decisions if I can get away with it, I just tell him what is happening and what to do. Mind you though, I do end up having to do most things myself anyway. But I think that is fair seeing as he is the one out earning the money. While he has been away I have had to deal with some serious ‘boy’ jobs which suck. I found a dead rat in the garden (have been wondering what the smell was for a while) and had a huge spider in our bedroom last night. Both obviously not cool situations.

Ryn- You confused me with the name change. But I do like. I have the leakage problem too, but am too lazy to get up and do anything about it. I have a couple of sheets on the bed so I don’t ruin the mattress. I have worked out that once I start feeling them fill up to only lie on my back and that seems to stop them leaking for a while. And then I just shove Tobi on as soon as he wakes up. I can’t wait to stop feeding. They tell you all these things about what it is going to be like when you have a baby (mostly the lack of sleep thing) but I wish I was more prepared for the leakage. I love being nude and it just isn’t the same anymore…How is the daylight savings going? Has Liebling settled back into his routine?

Lisa- What type of work are you looking for? Hope you find something you like and pays good.

Michelle- I just looked and there are instructions on how to subscribe to the thread in red and bold at the beginning. Silly me.

Jayne-How did your appointment go with the ears, nose and throat specialist? When does your hubby have to go away again? Having pet bunnies is so cute. I grew up in Qld and you aren’t allowed rabbits for pets up there.

Kirsten- How cute and cleaver is Quinn swimming like a frog. Have you got any video footage? How long as he been doing swimming lessons?

Good news is Tobi is getting around really well now. He loves being on the go. Bum still not up in the air though. And tonight he did his first real wave (he used to wave to himself). And with him feeling better and back to eating three meals a day, we have been out and about and had a huge week. Been to swimming twice, gymbaroo twice, met up with Kym and Catherine for coffee, went out with another girl I met on BB and tomorrow I am meeting up with an Army wife in the morning and then going out to dinner with my hubby’s Aunties tomorrow night (our cousins are going to baby sit Tobi too, so that will be great, though I think I will put him to bed before I go). The weekend is going to be huge too with social dates galore.

Anyway, I better go and clean up my house a little before I have visitors tomorrow. Take Care everyone.

Tashie - I am looking for something in Business Administration or Customer Service Officer work... I used to work for Centrelink, and I am looking at either Medicare, Centrelink Call Center or something similar. Because we are wanting to move to Newcastle, it has been a little difficult with applying for jobs, showing how keen we are and hoping to get a chance to have an interview... we're willing to drive the almost 3hrs to get there, but I guess some employers see it as easier to interview someone already there IYKWIM. I just wish I wasn't out-of-the-loop... it is much easier to apply for the jobs I want internally!!!

cate - re your hubby and decisions, i am the boss at our house BUT still find it hard sometimes as my hubby likes to dodge things together to save money too, not realises that in the long run TIME is money and my time stuffing around when i have the baby is not worth saving $10.... buy a little squirt I bought my sister in law one from bunnings but i think they were cheaper at babies galore dont pay more than $80

my elephant table.... it has made it back in the lounge!! i am going to put a photo of it in my gallery thing so you all know what i've been on about. jemima's area is awesome it is just on the side of the room surronded by cushions and her little carebear lounge on a seperate rug, i think it is pretty cute maybe i'll take a photo of it later

oh her big news bum in air crawling!!!! basically yesterday first day so not too fast yet but pretty cool and sleeping again one wake up but just for quick feed and not between 2 and 4 which is when this milk bar is closed!

oh oh and her medical fun for this week...... she has a anterior fissure (tear on her anus) which was found coz i took her to doc coz i thought she had a hemroid, what she had was anterior sential pile which my doc brother said is SAME thing as hemroid basically and the doc was just trying to confuse me the first doc was a confusing pain in butt (heheeh) and wrote referral to surgeon and didnt tell me anything so i phoned my doc brother and he said that was a little hasty and extreme so i went back to nice doc who i have seen almost every week for the last 2 months (coz my girl has had such a bad run but still smiling) and he said same thing and that as long as i keep her poo soft so it doesnt irritate tear we should be able to heal it by itself. he thinks it was caused by hard poo she had WEEKS ago!
i think when you have a baby you should be given a medical term book along with an extra set of arms.

lisa - i used to work for corporate express they have offices in lismore and other places down there and hopefully are still after good customer service people.... does the stationery industry interest you at all?

Wow Kel, poor Jemmie. I'm glad you got a second opinion, I feel after past experience, if it doesn't feel right or you're not satisfied with the answer, ask someone else. There are things that I have pushed to the back of my mind that I will probably never be able to fully resolve. Something I just have to live with.

Does anyone still need to make baby food really smooth? Ellie just spits out lumps or gags to spit them out. But today I gave her just mashed banana for brekky and not pureed. I think she'll get used to lumps soon.

Catherine - Harrison gags on pureed food... he does prefer some lumps in his... but there are days that he has wanted very pureed foods... bubba's can be very fussy things huh?

Poor little Harrison has diarrhoea... my poor baby... it doesn't seem to be affecting him though, he is still happy and smiley, just very pooey right now!! lol

Well, DH and I are going out for dinner tonight to celebrate (early) our 2nd anniversary... its funny, because this time last year I was pregnant with Harrison!!! lol

Hi everyone,

Its been a bit too long. We've had a lot going on - swimming, storytime at the library, meeting friends and the littlies are going to Playzone (creche) while I go to the gym. I loving the latter!!! I haven't done 'aerobic' classes since I was 18. First class I did was dance jam and it was absolutely awesome!!! I'm sure it didn't look pretty but hey thats not why I'm doing it

It took me ages to catch up on all the goss that has happened since I was last on here!

Kirsten - I sympathize with the biting. DS tried to take a chunk out of my shoulder yesterday. He's bitten my nipple and drawn blood but it was nothing compared to what he did yesterday. He latched his fangs into my shoulder and his little head actually shook with effort! I have a lil bruise :O Maybe your lil vampire is recruiting :P Caryn & Tash - I am sooo over the breastmilk leakage. Just when I think its all under control and I don't need to wear breastpads I get a big wet spot... Are all the other breastfeeding mothers still wearing breastpads as well? I plan on breast feeding until DS is 1yo. I'm very much looking forward to spending a fortune on nice sexy new bras and eating all the egg and onion I want.

Michelle - I checked out your website. I didn't have time to go through the whole thing so I was going to subscribe but it gave me an error Just thought I'd let you know in case you didn't already. It looks great! I've just started into web design myself. I'll proly do a course down the track but at the moment I'm just plodding through a book. DH made sure I had a book on just about everything I could possibly need so I'm set for reading for a while :P Catherine - My DS would definately prefer the lumpier food. He fusses if I give him a pureed main meal but he'll happily eat pureed fruit, custard or yoghurt, I guess the sweetness makes up for the lack of lumps...

Thanks to everyone who let me know what their littlies sleep in. The weather has been decidedly warm since I wrote that question so I haven't really needed to worry too much about covers. For a while there it was a toss up whether we'd have a warm night or whether it would cool off and I was worried about DS getting cold through the night but in retrospect I'm thinking he would have no qualms about letting me know that he was uncomfortable. He definately has a good voice!

It's taken me ages to get this response finished. I'd come in to do bits and pieces and undoubtedly someone would interrupt me. I totally respect all you gals who constantly manage to share such personalized and informative posts. Even if I don't always have the time to post I love reading about what your babies are up to.

Hi girlarinas! Hmm, girlarini, girlarine? Girls, there we go, no crisis there!

Poor little Jem! I hate taking DS to any doctor but our own normal GP because only one doctor so far treat DH and I like we were doing the right thing bringing DS in and like we were intelligent. My GP is lovely, even if she did make a comment about having to make up bottles the other day (I see her socially too) and looked surprised I was still BFing.

With food, DS eats what we do, cut up but not blended (for example, a spring roll chopped in half or a sausage in bite-sized chunks). He eats all by himself so we all have dinner together. Yes, he does cough once or twice - last night he did a cough after his water (he controls that too) and just said "oh duh-ear" afterwards - DH and I usually say "oh dear, down the wrong way?" when he wants a response from his cough.

I have sexy bras! I think your "hot milk" range does sexy BFing bras. I have mine from Emily B and JoJo Maman Bebé. And I'm still in breastpads, but they aren't as much of a necessity any more.

I think it might be good to still use pads. Perhaps you could use something thinner for just in case? Perhaps get some fabric from nappyworks.com.au and make a few washable ones? Then they are soft, comfy and discreet.

I've tried Ellie on mashed, not pureed banana for brekky and avocado for lunch, she ate it up. Except she was getting sick of avocado so I mixed in chicken and sweetcorn from a jar. She loved it. I'm glad as she went off meats when she was 5 months old. So, little by little I'm giving her more meats and getting lumpier. Its odd how your bubs love lumps and mine hates them. Oh well.

I've only just got her to sleep a little while ago. She kept wriggling out of her safeTsleep and playing in the cot. I kept trying and trying to get her to sleep and wrapped her and she got out of it, twice, so I re-wrapped for the third time and just held her until she succumbed to sleep. Then she's strapped into the safeTsleep and now Terry can get some sleep. Thank god, as he has to get up in just over 6.5 hours for work.

Its amazing how much money we can spend just on groceries. Last month our average total expenses per day was $75. Can you believe it? It's been higher in previous months, but one was quite good. So we're budgeting a heck of a lot more.

Got things to do, making my own christmas cards this year, featuring a photo of Elouise which I have (well going to) edited to change the background. Will post it in gallery when I'm done. I think the one I'm doing is going to be a practice one and I'll probably either take a new photo or use a different one I already have.

I've found that the sposies just don't fit around Ellie's legs anymore. The stretchy tabs make the tabs overlap, and then the front piece just wriggles down the sides, iykwim. This doesn't happen when we use cloth, as the covers solve that problem. Oh well. We're finally getting around to doing her nappies in the wash, because of the rain lately. And we have no drier. We survive. There's no way Terry will let me get a drier and I feel I'd only use it more than I really need.

Must finish this editing. Need some chokky. Finally bought some today. Neeeed some chocky.

did i mention jemima was crawling (basically) and sitting herself up by herself! the sitting thing was today very glad she is doing that kind of thing finally!

tomorrow is mothers group and then a visit from a very cute young lady named bella! (and her mummy) so that will be fun too..... i dont have people over very often as i go out most of the time ESPECIALLY since my kitchen is still not finished.... but bella will be able to show jemima more sitting up stuff and jemima will be able to show bella some crawling stuff she has been learning from another friend of mine's one year old (it is so cool how much they learn from each other)

jemima's fissure i hope is getting better i have been putting cream on the 'pile' and it seems to be becoming harder.... not going away..... so since i am dragging benji to go to the doctor on thursday i might get doc to have a sneak peak before the two weeks is up

i cant wait til kitchen is finished as then i am going to stay home more and start to stop doing so much, seems i am the oppposite of the rest of you.... i have been going out and doing swimming and stuff since jem was really young and now i am exhausted.... they just cancelled baby yoga (the one i like coz there were not enough people....) and i have cancelled my belly dancing classes coz i was so tired by thursday night, i have blamed baby exhaustion but it is probably the case of trying to do too much, i have since jem was newborn basically had something to do everyday, last monday was i think the 3rd day since she was born that i stayed home all day... even when we were quarantined coz of virus i waited til benji got home and then went tothe shops or something to get out of the house..... so slowing down will probably be good for everyone..........

lisa - is harrison over his diarrea? that would be gross...... jemima has to take coloxyl drops at the moment to make sure everything stays soft and she had an interesting poo yesterday which benji managed to get all over her new dress!

pps - i still need to use breastpads some days but not every day.... i often of course find it is the days i really need them i have forgotten.... but definatelly the reusable ones now, although i have a heap of the disposable ones i should probably use up... or i guess i could save them for next bub

ppps - jemima since being real sick went backwards with all foods, so i had to go back to 4-5 month old textured food, but now she is back to trying everything however doesnt love the texture of most of the 9month old bottled food pulled a couple of peas and stuff out of her dinner tonight... ho hum

Elouise is eating lumpy food now!!! First I gave lumpy banana, then avocado and now she's eaten pumpkin and couscous from the mum's recipe range. Those flavours are great! Real food in a jar, just like what we'd eat. Soon, possibly even tomorrow, I'll make some fish for her. I have some in the freezer I was planning on eating myself, but oh well. I have chicken things from a butcher that she can't eat so they're all mine.

Kel, sorry about my dumb suggestions about the table, I must have missed the word table ages ago, I thought it was a statue or ornament.

Caryn - I checked out the hot milk bras. I really wish I heard about those earlier ... like 3 years ago Its not worthwhile buying new ones now as I only have 4 months to go. One of the big issues I found was finding bras that weren't so high in the centre front. Though not sexy, my Fine Lines convertible bras have served me well...

Catherine - WOW thats a lot of money. Our supermarket shop normally costs an average of about $250 plus diapers every couple of weeks (but I normally wait for the specials and stock up).

Kel - Congrats to lil Jemima with her crawling and sitting I found my lil DS sitting the other day too. He was crawling around the bathroom then when I turned around he was sitting. I did a double take. Its so cool to see how proud of themselves they are isn't it I'm glad Jemima's fissure is getting better. Imagine if you'd more seriously considered that doctors :doctor: idea of surgery. Are you going to like being home after being so busy for so long? You mind find yourself going stir crazy rather quickly. I love getting out of the house! It may partially be due to the fact that both the lil darlings are restrained in a car seat or a stroller and it gives me some relative 'me' time :P Your coffee table is really nice, no wonder you didn't want to put it away!

Off to my first personal training session today. I've no idea what to expect. I hope it doesn't make me too sore for the dance class at the gym tonight. I loved it soooo much last week!

Hi everyone! This is just a quick one because I have LOTS of website stuff to do (my autoresponder is broken and thanks to those who pointed that out to me!), and now it seems I have plenty of housework to do too!

Took Bella to swimming today and scary lady was able to actually LOOK at her without making her cry! Now that was a great start! After that, scary lady put Bella on a floating mat thing and I stood on the other side and we almost had forward crawling motion, but not quite.

About half an hour ago, Bella was rolling around on the floor, trying to pull herself up on the couch, sitting up, lying down, sitting up again etc and just keeping herself amused. Then she spotted a lollie wrapper and CRAWLED over to it! Woo hooooo! We finally have crawling motion!

Also, on Saturday her second tooth came through too, so it's all happening in our household!

Christie, the finance thing was $75 a day for everything we have bought. Food, transport, phone, gifts, bills, absolutely everything. So if you have mortgage, electricity, phone, internet, paytv, food etc, you might spend a big amount too. I'm not pointing fingers of course, its just a shock if you add up every expense and see how big it could be.
