Hiya guys, MAP is Morning after Pill. And I think he's put on weight. He feels heavier. He's back on booby as from last feed (9am) and am pleased to say I don't think my supply dropped tooooo much. He only needed a top up of 50ml so am quite happy with that.
Prama, that would have been a good one to show on his 21st! hehehe I'm sorry he had a bad night the other night.
Bun, I hope her head was ok. Poor bubba. Would have made her cry soooo bad. Poor girl....
Hope everyone else is getting smiles from their bubbas! Bry gives the cutest grin! Just makes me melt hehehehe.

Hey ladies, I have been lurking (again) and am interested to see you guys going through the same things as me!

Prama - Ben pee'd in his face the other week. Everytime I have his nappy off he seems to think it is time to let one go. He hosed down my bed the other day. Had to change the sheets!

As for the wrapping thing, Ben seems to enjoy being unwrapped, but for the first couple of weeks I found this great thing at the baby shop called a swaddle. It is velcro and fleecy and you wrap the baby in it and the velcro bits hold everything together. It was great as Ben couldn't get out of it no matter how he struggled. Unfortunately he got anooyed with being wrapped and we are now putting him in a sleep bag. These too are fantastic. We had them with the other 2 kids and they were great!

My DH made sure that I was down the chemist to get my prescription for the mini pill filled the other day. That way when the 6 weeks are up he won't have to wait or "bag it"! DTD is the last thing on my mind ATM. Sleep. Now that is my priority!

we have one of those velcro wraps.. he moves too much and i worry it might not be comfy for him. it probably is..

Alright, i'm frazzled and i can't remember who said what anymore so i'm very sorry for my slackness but im just going to post...

Alexander's Christening on Saturday night went well, he slept through the entire thing, which was really quite splendid. Having the in-laws down also went well, his mother wasn't as controlling and smothering as i expected, it was actually his father i wanted to tell to STFU sometimes.

Had a CHN appt today, alex has put on 630gms in two weeks, woohoo. CHN was giggling for ages before she told me. Alex has also worn the last of his newborn nappies and the first of his 000 clothes.

I have a really bad pain where i assume my pubic bone is. I dont know why, - i thought it was just my pelvis "shrinking again" but its been around for more than afortnight now so obviously not. If im squatting it hurts, it hurts to put pressure on, if i use the toilet it hurts. I dont want to pay to go to the docs any earlier but it hurrrrrrrts!

Smiles - we got our first smile on Day 7. But it was a wind smile, the social smiles started about a week later, but hit high frequency on Saturday!

Nappy changing - I change at the end of a feed. Alexander often tends to poo while im feeding him so changing him at the beginning, or mid-feed is usually pointless. He also doesn't need comforting to sleep, he puts himself off, so i dont need to worry about feeding to sleep.

Feeding - He tends to feed four hourly, sometimes he'll go five hours, and on a warmer or a grizzly day some feeds are three - but he's having six feeds a day. For his weight he should be taking approximately 115ml.
Guts-pants-mcGee last night took a bottle of fresh EBM and drank 160ml. And then didn't even sleep any longer. Definitely encountering a growth spurt as since last nights guts of a feed he drains one side (about 125ml) and then almost the second (about 60ml).

I honestly don't know the definitions and 'terms' of controlled crying and self settling, but this is what we do...
I put Alexander to bed when i see his tired signs and even though he might lay awake for an hour i leave him - he always cries for thirty seconds or so just before he falls asleep (its quite strange actually).
If there are no tired signs i give him tummy time or etc until he does get tired or chuck him in his rocker until it vibrates him to sleep.
If he wakes before a feed its generally because of wind - i let him cry to pass it and once he gets too wound up ill pick him up, rub his back/belly, till he takes his dummy again and then put him back to bed.

Don't know if i posted this already but we've recently learned his loudest, most high pitched, ear piercing scream is his 'wrap me and put me back to bed scream'. It's quite alarming, because the loud crying is so uncharacteristic of him so far... guess in a way its good as i know exactly what he wants... Although sometimes its hard as he'll have wind, it'll pass but before he stops crying from wind he's crying to be put down...

Speaking of wrapping, Alex still startles himself too much when not wrapped so for my sleep's sake, (lol) we still wrap him at night and try leave him loose during the day, so he gets more used to it.

Prama - Alexander did the same the other day. We were in a parents room and all, so when it landed, not only on his clothes, face, hair, in his eye... it all pooled in his ear... The irony is, on that day he was wearing FIREMAN SUIT, pmsl.

Katkins - i thought the BFing would stop the O'ing?? Damn now you have me worried as i haven't got the mini-pill yet and we haven't exactly been careful.

Carley - im so sorry that you're having such a difficult time with Lysander, i hope things get better for you asap.

well girls, had very light spotting last night, 5dpo as far as i can work out and its gone again now so am concerned it may have been implantation! god help me if it was! 4 under 5 and last two 10months apart!!!!!!! (c/s will mean two weeks early...)

no, you can still get pregnant even when bf, only thing is that AF doesnt arrive.

prama, I would love it. Hard as it would be. But now is not the best time. I swear if I am, I'd have to be the most fertile woman in the world and I have NFI what contraception I can use then! hehehe

Ash, great to hear that the christening went well and that bubs slept right through it!!

Carley, sorry to hear about the rough time you have been having lately! I hope that things get better for you and Lysander soon! What symptoms did he have for the silent refux?

Not much to report here, got my baby bjorn yesterday and tried it out at work and down at the shops, I love it! So comfy!! I think Noah likes it too, I didnt hear much complaining!
