Josephine: I have not heard of that book but I had been reading a book called babywise. It encourages establishing a routine of feeding. Emily is generally feeding fairly well on 2 1/2 - 4 hours between feeds except for nights. Sometimes we need to wake her to feed if longer than 4 hours but she is now often waking up after three hours. What routines does your book suggest?

We are still having some difficulty with getting Emily to sleep between feeds. She just screams when we try to put her down and even keeps crying and kickingwhen we pick her up. She did it yesterday and stayed awake from about 6pm to 11pm (sleeping for minutes and then waking and crying again). I fed her at six, then at 8pm then at 10pm and got her to sleep at 11pm. I am really not sure why she is doing this as at other times she just happily goes to sleep. She did it again this morning between feeds. I feel terrible that we cannot even calm her but picking her up. Does anyone have any idea of other things I can do? It generally starts 30 mins after a feed and we check her nappy. It is just a normal thing?
