Maz - Yeah, everybody said/everything I read said that some babies won't fit into 0000 at all & to get mostly 000, so I did but Scally is definately 0000 atm. Target is one of the worst stores for baby girl's clothes, even kmart is better, everything in Target is pink & frilly for girls & blue with trucks on for boys!!

Now I am worried that I'm not worried about Scally using the movement monitor thing!! I must be abnormal!! Ofcourse I check that she's breathing when she's so darn still & quiet & even check on her randomly, but I am fine with not using that mat at the moment.

As for sleeping for hours, the nurse that visited us at home the few days after we came home said not to let her go more than 4 hours without a feed, as it is she wakes up usually between 2 & 3 hours, a couple of times nearer to 4. I haven't really been paying attention to any sort of pattern, like everybody else seems to know how their nights go down to a tee but I haven't been paying attention... I figure as long as she's happy it's all good... should I be paying more attention??

I think I might put a piece of paper and pen on the fridge and note the times I feed Mateauz for piece of mind. Ive been told by alot of the wonderful woman Ive gotten to know on here that if there is output (number 2's ) and lots of wet nappies then your doing the right thing....its so hard to bl00dy tell though.
We just had out second shower and I thought I might give Mateauz a massage to help his circulaion..ah he lapped it up like anyone would.
hmmm I might go to the pumpkin patch web site for a sticky and see what they have up for offer.....

Maz - I wasnt getting the positioning perfect so ended up with really sore, bleeding nipples!! OUCH. It was the same last time too. But I've been told that nipple sz plus breast shape can have alot to do with that. But its getting better. And I still perservere regardless ! Must be crazy but the closeness and just being that its natures way keeps me going... For me anyway for now! And it does seem to be getting better. Hey you mentioned your boy being a big sleeper - do you have to make the effort to wake him up for his feeds?? My boy would just keep on sleeping for hrs if I let him! This morning he had his last b/st feed at 4.30 & was still asleep at 8.00! Thats too long surely without a feed so I started on waking him up. Which is what I'll have to keep doing by the looks of it to ensure he's getting all his feeds.

How is everyone else doing with these issues??
Hindonly, my milk was going down and I have a real sucker who liked to feed every hour-2 hours! Because I hadn't attached her correctly at the start, my nipples are split. It was so sore and I was in tears at every feed and really unhappy. I am expressing/formula feeding ATM so alternating. I feel terrific and happy and in turn, Madeleine is really happy. I am just doing what's right for us and I'm really enjoying my little one! I had to wake Madeleine for a feed last night, it had been 4.5 hours! She only had half of her milk and then drifted off again, only to awake 2 hours later screaming in hunger!!

I just posted a bit of a love rant for Infants Friend in the Dec baby buddies thread... OMG I'm glad this stuff exists!!

Poor little Scally had THE WORST night last night that she has ever had, including the sleepless nights in hossie, poor little chicken didn't go down (or even be quiet or still or anything...) until she finally flaked at 5am... then she was awake all day today, I mean, ALL DAY... I was beside myself - she was so tired & there didn't seem to be anything I could do... finally got DP to get some Infants Friend... took a few chemists & an unwanted bottle of infacol but we got it & my little angel is back to her beautiful contented self.... thank god.

So, if anybody has a baby with horrible wind that just won't settle... Infants Friend!! I think she is a freak because everybody else says their baby hated the taste lol, but Scally loved it!!

Here's hoping we both get some sleep tonight. (DP could sleep through a bombing raid it seems.... how he can snore through some of the screaming that was going on last night I'll never know... I actually had to hit him to wake him up & say "Help!!" lol)

    Hi ladies!

Finally made it in here! We are doing well. Amy's putting on weight so we're now doing demand feeding but also four hourly overnight and three hourly during the day. Seems to be going well but it breaks my heart to wake her up when she's so sound asleep. But she feeds all the same so at least I know it's worth it. She only seems to cry when she's hungry or when too many people have held her. we had some visitors over yesterday who were just way too pushy. I ended up having to take her off them and go into another room and settle her. I didn't like the way one of them was holding her. Is that paranoid/unfair? Most people are fine but I was just uncomfortable.

We've got one of those Angelcare monitors too. I've got Amy in a cradle and it works really really well. Just that extra peace of mind, especially because she's not in our room. we put her straight into her own room when we got home so it helps that I'm not in there all the time checking that she's breathing! hehehe. Although I am checking on her a lot, mainly because I just LOVE staring at her! Hehehe. She breathes so softly sometimes that I really need to watch her too even if the monitor is saying that everything is ok!!

Well, better go have a shower before she wakes up for the next feed. I'm really looking forward to being able to demand feed and just let her sleep when she wants to. Have a great day ladies xxxx Luv Nik and Amy

PS Maz!! I know exactly what you mean about 000 clothes. Amy has SOOOOOO many of those and she's barely fitting into 0000 stuff at the moment! She's going to be decked out once she gets bigger but at the moment, she doesn't have much to choose from! Heheheh.

OMG - i need some sleep...i had 3 hours sitting up again but Mateauz feed every 1 1/2 hours last night so you can imagine how sore my nipples are and the tingling!!!!

Queen - Im going to get some infant friends...I totally forgot about that stuff...I might even have some here somewere. Clever thinking 99 did you get any sleep last night matie? Was scarlett better for you?

Nik - so glad that Amy is being a wonderful baby for you. I tend to put Mateauz 'away' in his bassinet when we have visitors....most babies only like being held by strangers for so long. I get antsie and dont keep my eyes of people when they hold him cause I get scared they'll hurt him (must be a premmi/ bad birth thing hon )

hello everyone else hop eyour all well and your babies are growing beautifully

    BBL - need a shower

Maz, I hope you get some sleep today!

    Queen, IF is great!

Nik, those angel care monitors are great. I love ours too, gives me total peace of mind.

Hindonly, hope your nipples are ok today - what a thing to say really....! But that's why we are here, I never thought I would be telling anyone about my nipples ever...after a baby, your dignity sort of heads out the window!

Hope everyone is having a good day x

NikW-Glad to see you made it in here! And I know what u mean by watching them sleep - we mums & dads cant help ourselves but do it

Bindy - Thanks, my nips are much better today & improving! We've got it right I think! MIght have to fill my script though for the stuff you take to improve supply. I dont think there is enough there for bub ... had the same prob with my 1st born too which is why she had a little of both worlds. But I'd really like to just go with boobie as much as possible with this one. And he prefers it too

Queen - You poor thing! You didn't get alot of sleep did you... Hope its much better tonight. And thanks for the recommendation for I.F. I will have to remember that if he suddenly has a bad bout of wind. Maybe I should just get some & keep it on hand!

Maz - Wow, waking up every hr & half! Is he not getting enough milk? That might be why he keeps waking cause he doesn't have his fill. Thats why I'm getting my script filled for my supply! It will keep them happy longer

Thats it for me! Oh _ & I've also updated my album to show my little man!

    Hi ladies,

Amy is definitely getting better. She's not falling asleep after every feed. Sometimes she'll wriggle around for a while. The great thing is she doesn't cry non stop between feeds. Still doing 3 hourly during the day and 4 hourly at night. I really hope she gets back up to her birth weight soon. We're doing our best. Only 200g to go! Cross your fingers for us. Next weigh in is at the end of this week.

Maz - you made me feel better about being paranoid about people holding her. Once she's older I'll chill out more but I can just tell when she's not happy about it and I hate her being passed around like a toy. She's a human being too, even if she is the cutest thing I've ever seen!! I know how you feel about lack of sleep although I'm sure you're getting less than me with all your other little ones running around! I'm in awe of you!

Bindy - It is bizarre talking to people about nipples and stitches etc when you think about it isn't it!?

Carol - your pics are great! He is soooooo adorable!!

Well, I'm going to try and have a nap while she is sleeping! Have a great day ladies :-) xxx Luv Nik and Amy

G'day everyone! Well I have finally had a chance to check computer, I feel vaguely human today! Adeline is 6 days old and doing well. I look forward to joining in the discussions and getting advice here!

Love reading the stuff, have been debating over the sleep/feed issue myself- she sleeps all day, awake feeding all night, or last night the other way around. Didnt know whether to wake or not, in fact she slept so well that I was worried and could not sleep anyway!
My milk came in Sunday and are totally hard and painful, so her sleeping through the three hour mark became so painful last night. Will be waking her from now on- how long does this engorgement feeling of pain last?
Anyway, going to grab a nap while I can.

Mary it will only last a few days! And I know what you mean by being painful... Mine were hard as rocks and that sore that even if Cara leaned up against me it hurt. But my milk supply isn't so great now - I've just filled a script today for Domperione I think its called to increase milk supply! It will take a week but thats okay - far better going that way rather than giving bubby bottle f/time which I dont want to do! A bit of both worlds is fine

Bubby is still sleeping lots here but again he was nearly 2 wks early so we shall see what he's like in a week or 2! He's pretty good right now - totally dif' to how Cara was but still as I said early days yet!

Hi Girls, hope you've all had a great day today!

Hindonly, yes my milk supply seems to be diminishing, I am not stressed though, Madeleine is getting fed very well and is so happy!

Maz, I praise you for using cloth nappies! I don't know how you do it! I am using disposables and go through sooooooooooooooooooo many every day, Madeleine poos and wees so much!

Nik, glad Amy is getting better 4 hourly feeds at night are excellent. Madeleine has been doing the 4 hour nights these past few days, I hope it lasts!

Hawksey, great to hear from you, glad Adeline is doing well. It's great about your supply too! Mine is not so good.

Have a great night everyone, hope you all get some sleep! I am hoping Madeleine only wakes every 4 hours tonight, I have the biggest headache tonight!
