    HAPPY 10 MONTHS LIAM!!!
I am loving all the birthday invites!!! Sooo gorgeous, and Tan Jayden's one was really cool too! Wow you guys might actually inspire me to put one together for Beth's birthday yet! I want to put together a photo book for her first birthday too does anyone have any recommendations for the best website etc for photobooks?
Mez great to hear you had a nice relaxing holiday babe
Feeb/ Kel and all the other sick people hope we're all on the mend now, I am finally feeling a bit better today BUT!
SW - sadly there is an affliction more devastating than man-flu.... Bear-flu! o well at least he understands now why I've been feeling so awful for the last few weeks.
We are going to check out a Montessori preschool/ school for Beth tomorrow morning so that should be interesting.
Hope everyone is having a lovely evening and a good week! to all

Pixie.. go to big w photos online. They do so many different things inc photo books/calendars etc. You do it all online and then submit it and you can either get it sent out to you or to your closest big w. They have lots of options for designs too.. not to mension are a great price. I had my calendars done at christmas through there and theyre awesome. Good luck tomorrow.

Kellxx - will print them as they are - two to a 8*10. Then cut them in half so that they will be like panoramic prints. Cheaper that way There are 4 different prints on that website that I posted - same invites but with different images. The top photos are all recent ones, and the bottom pics are spanning from birth to a few weeks back.

Pix - have to agree with Kellxx re. Big W - they're photo products are pretty awesome. They have a special now on photobooks I think - 29.95 or thereabouts? They look amazing. Thinking of getting that done too =) You should DEFINITELY put an invite together for Beth - I'm having great fun looking at what other people are doing (therefore, for my entertainment, get to work!!

Thx all on comments on the invites and cake. They really are a lot of fun to put together. Seriously, if anyone wants some help on putting together invites of their own (even if that help is just support for using Gimp (the graphics app that I use instead of photoshop)), I'd be happy to assist.

    Happy 10 months Liam

    Invites look great guys.

Not doing one here - not giving our kids parties until they can say "hey ma, can I have a party and invite x and x" - then they get a party.

    Until then - nope.

But we always do things a little differently in this house than what everyone else does.

We not doing a party either, we will just do a family get together with cake and thats it. Even my older ones decide what they want. my eldest who just turned 9 went and watched stomp instead of a party, took one friend and last year was high school musical on ice. My nearly 6 yr old want a party though.

On the rest of the front, even though I was not goin back to work I was there today as the person in the position I was job sharing with before mat leave resigned with no notice and left the with not knowing what is going on.....on the up side bub is coming with me and it is casual at this point in time.

    Different is good!

The only reason that we are doing a party is because of her Chinese heritage. For them, it is very important to have a party to celebrate the first month - historically if your baby survived the first month it was well worth celebrating. So that is a tradition that goes back centuries, apparently. Since we were living in Canberra at the time, we couldn't hold the traditional chinese party, so we said we'd do it for her 1st year instead.

DHs grandmother is SO excited... She's planning on cooking up a storm of all sorts of traditional chinese fare that is usually served at the one month party for luck and prosperity and the likes. Really looking forward to it - just not to my baby being a year old!!

Ayapi - you asked in FB about what graphics app I was using instead of photoshop, and I sent you the link for the mac instructions for Gimp. You could also look at inkscape. It's another free graphics app, and also is available for OS X (or windows, or (of course) linux). I used inkscape to create the border for the pictures on my invites, and did the rest within Gimp. Together, they make a very powerful set of tools. I used them all the time in my work. In case the mods remove the link here (which they shouldn't - it's not advertising a saleable product or assisting anyone making money - everything about inkscape is completely free and open source), you can google inkscape, should be the first result link, then go to the downloads page.

    Totally understandable Mel.
We will probably have a small party for family and some friends... but it's more for me and the Bear than DD!! Basically to celebrate that we all survived her first year and what an awesome little girl she is! And I think my stepmum and sister will never forgive me if we don't!

    HI all.

Missy- What is croup? i have heard of it but never seen it. I hope Callum mends quickly poor little mate. we haven't seen you in ages almost time for a play date i think. I still haven't seen the Twilight movie, did it go to cinima? I dont know anything about movies or music these days i think i'm getting old.

SW- Love the cake and you have done a great job on the party invites aswell, i love party planning and all those creative things too.

Pixie- i hope you guys get better soon, i really geel for you we have been battling the flu for almost a month now. i'm so sick of being sick.Ialso recomend big W online for photo stuff. i got my calendar from them as well as some photo mugs for mum and MIL for mothers day. they look great.

Bell- how are the girls after having the pox?

mez- i ment to ask how did was the flight over to Fiji. im too scared to take the boys on a plain i just imagine them screaming the whole way, lol. glad you are feeling better too, a perfect way to recover both phisically and mentally. xoxo

i have missed heaps but do hope everyone is great.

    as for us:
    - Well its been a month of sickness here! and caleb and i got it the worst, we are still a bit chesty and keep coughing but getting better.
    - We will be having a party for the twins birthday, i LOVE birthday parties i love to cook for them and plan them. for me its our once a year day where our family and friends gather together to celebrate who you are and how much your loved. i have had a party every year since i was born sometimes its just very small with just 3-4 people but we still celebrate it as a party. I'm trying to keep the twins party smallish which is hard with my family but I'm only inviting those who i see on a regular basis. I'll put the invite on FB when i finish. we will put the marquee up out the back and have lots of fresh yummy food, i won't worry about games tho till they are older.
Our theme is sesame street because they like to watch it and its also fun to do things in a sesame street theme. oh im excited thinking about it. i don't ever expect people to buy gifts tho, i just love to get together.
    - Mothersday was good unfortunatly sebi had a bad night and screamed from about 1am till 4am so i told DH not to worry with breakfast the boys were just too tired and grumpy from lack of sleep. but it ended up a great day, it rained so we took our picnic to mums house and relaxed all day.
    - Our holiday in hervey bay is all booked and organised and mum is going to look after the boys so i'm glad to be getting some quality time with DH.
    - as for the twins they are now on 100% family meals no mash at all. its heaps easier too.
    - they are sleeping well (most of the time) Sebi has a tantrum every night before bed but i have decided he wont win and now i'm just letting him scream it out and eventually he falls asleep, thankfully caleb can sleep thru anything and all noise. but once asleep they are out till about 7-7.30am.
    - I have started to give them a little cows milk, they still have their formula and water but sometimes they refuse the formula but will have the cows milk in a sippi cup, the plan is by the time they turn one we will get rid of all formula.
    - I'm kinda boring not much happening here, better work out whats for dinner, I'm thinking a butter chicken with rice and steemed veg, lol the twins and Isaac LOVE a good indian curry.

Keep well gotta run, I'll try to pop in a little more regular.

    Morning!

Kristy.. mmmmm butter chicken. How was it? I want some more of that butter chicken we got up at windsor. We'll have to go up there this week.. i wanna get my jacket out too. Got dockets for Donut King! BTW.. your boys are just WAY too talented

Thats fair enough those who dont do parties. Im like Kristy and just love making it a special day where family and friends celebrate who my kids are. Also a great excuse for a little get together with people we dont get to see often enough. Plus being we have a much better house and yard now, the kids will have a ball. I love decorating and making their cakes!

SW.. yep good idea. Yeh i saw all of them. I like the first 2 top pics.

Pixie.. howd you go at the school? How you feeling now?

Im still battling this cough. Driving me nuts.
Im taking Jesse out for a special mummy and Jesse day today. DH is at work and MIL is coming to mind Keira. Just going to treat him to a donut and smoothie and a ride at the shops and then we're gonna go shopping for big boy undies! Will see what other special things i can do for him today too. I love doing these little days with him. Keira has me to herself on Thursdays while Jess is at preschool so its nice to give him some one on one time too.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

    xx

Kristy good to see you online, bummer about being sick! Sooo over it! Fortunately we seem to be getting over it here.
Mel - saw the big announcement this morning... how was the reaction?
Kel the school was actually great! We are going to enrol her in the baby program and see how we go from there.
sweetpea what a bummer about the work thing, although good that you can take Reaghan with you..... I have a problem with my work, supposed to be going back in six weeks and they aren't telling me anything... no idea if there is a job there to go back to or not!
Tenny bummer about DP not helping.... he might need a kick up the butt!
anyhoo, just having a quiet day here, the Bear let me have a sleep in with Beth this morning and then took her to the markets so we have had a really relaxing day. He gets extra points for it too cause he is still sick!

    Morninggggg.

SW - It was great to see you posting here again. I love hearing about Alyssa and seeing the pictures. Your invites are greatttttttttttttttttt and I loved the thank you cards you made too.

Kell - I hope you're feeling better. Sounds like the special time you have with Jesse is fun and so precious. I bet he loves just having you to himself. I hope the big boy undies and TT. Elijah was a bit interested one day, then not so the next... then one day he just got it. It's so frustrating. Your invite is so pretty! Cute theme you've choosen too. I really can't wait to see the cake either. Hehe.

Kristy - How was the movie? I want to see thatttt. I just have to finish the book first. Haha. Trust me to leave reading the book to the last min. I hope you're all better, or getting better. Great to see you around again.

Pix - Those videos you've uploaded to FB are so adorable. I hope you're feeling better too. YAY for the sleep in. I'm a bit jealous.

Mel - How've you been? How're the kiddies & the bump?

and Missy, Tan, Mez, Sweetpea, Feeb, Zee, Majella, and anyone else I may have missed.

    As for us..
We're still got the clingy boy. Sometimes it's ok, and then other times it's annoying. I wish DP would try and distract him to help me out but he's just lazy (and getting worse, I think).
Haydie is all over the house, whether it's using is walker to get from A to B or crawling, he's so fast at moving. Might get him weighed this week to see how much of a porker he really is. Yesterday he burnt his fingers. I'll try and get a photo of it and put on FB when I upload a heap soon. We were at my nan's place and she dropped one of those metal covers that you sit over the elements on a stove top.. he was so fast over there but only just touched it, thank god. He was 4 white blisters. They seem to be not hurting today, well he's not crying or anything when he goes to use that hand so I guess it's a good sign.

Re: Birthday parties. I just enjoy making a cake for their birthdays, so we just have it with family. I don't even making invites or anything like that.

I'm going to try and get some new photos up on FB soon and catch up on everyone elses too.

Have a great day. Sorry I rambled a heap.
    xox
